I want to share my impressions of my 29th vacation in Egypt, the 4th in Makadi Bay. Rested at the Sunwing Family 5* hotel for 7 nights, all inclusive. This hotel belongs to the famous chain "Red Sea Hotels", in Makadi there are 5 hotels of this chain nearby, there is a huge green area for walking.
This is my 3rd vacation at "Sunwing Family 5*", I left reviews. I will not repeat myself, I will write about the main thing.
I arrived at the hotel around 1:00 p. m. , I was checked in immediately, at my request they gave me my favorite room 303. I like quiet rooms on high floors. From the huge balcony there is a wonderful view of palm trees and the sea. I never heard the neighbors, only planes flying over the hotel at night. The room consists of two rooms, about 50 square meters. The equipment is very old (TVs, refrigerator), but it is not important for me.

Unfortunately the daily housekeeping this time was very poor, i. e. almost non-existent, after I stopped leaving a tip, the situation improved surprisingly. There were even figurines made of towels. But the room needs general cleaning: wiping the furniture, washing the balcony, windows, washing the curtains and more.
The territory was and remains one of the main advantages of the hotel. Many tall palm trees, flowers, fountains, paths are illuminated at night. It is clear that the hotel is well cared for. You can walk around the territory of 5 hotels of the "Red Sea Hotels" chain. The atmosphere is romantic, and even fabulous, very cozy.
There are several pools, and even a jacuzzi. Personally, I am not interested in swimming pools at all. Children's and adult water parks worked. Went to an adult. Unfortunately, not all slides worked.
Food. Used main restaurants and a la carte. In the main restaurants, the choice is not great, but you can always find a dish to your taste. The main thing is that the products are fresh.
There are no long queues, there are always free tables, it is quite clean, and the service is good.
Not all a la cartes for lunch worked, it's a pity. The choice of dishes has also become smaller, the basis of dishes is fast food. I liked the restaurant of Mexican cuisine the most for lunch. I really liked the dinner at "Kebab Island" (grill restaurant). Among the Makadi Mall restaurants, she had dinner at her favorite Golden Dragon (Chinese cuisine) and Mafia Classic (Italian cuisine). Service in restaurants remained at an excellent level.
There are several all-inclusive bars. I preferred the bar on the beach and the Lime Bar. The bars have standard Egyptian soft and alcoholic drinks. The quality of drinks is normal, the service is excellent. The beach bar has a lovely bartender with a sunny smile Tarek and at the Lime Bar my favorite waiter was Ramadan. On the second day of my vacation, these guys knew what I wanted to order and brought my drinks before I even had time to ask for them.
Animation is provided by a small animation team.
They did not impress me with anything special, I have seen much better shows. Therefore, I spent most evenings at the Lime Bar, listening to live music.

But there was one unpleasant moment that slightly spoiled the impression of rest. I bought a ticket for a fire show on the beach, offered by a hotel employee. There was no separate smoking area. And the level of culture of some guests did not allow them to guess that blowing tobacco smoke in other people's faces is not polite. I had to change my place 2 times, but it didn't help. In addition, the promised professional show did not start for 40 minutes, instead I had to watch the dances of the hotel entertainers of a very low level. After 40 minutes of intense passive smoking and waiting for the show, I didn't want to watch anymore, I value my time and my health. Unfortunately, 12 euros was paid for a spoiled mood.
Service is a strong point of the hotel. Almost all the staff are very attentive and polite.
Service is not intrusive and with a smile. Well done I want to immediately note the excellent impression of the reception staff Ahmed Eltayeb and Mahmoud. They were extremely friendly, polite and attentive to all my requests and needs throughout the entire stay. Also thanks to Hazem Rabh for organizing an unforgettable dinner at the grill bar and for the daily care. Thanks to the excellent service, I didn't want to pay attention to some minor problems. I want to sincerely thank you!!!!
The beach is clean and large, you feel comfortable. There is everything you need. Perfectly!
The sea in Makadi is impressive. I swam from Fort Arabesque Hotel to The Grand Makadi pontoon. The corals are different everywhere: from small clusters to a large barrier wall, the palette and architecture are wonderful. A lot of amphiprions, butterflies, parrots, groupers, arotrons, hailines, flutes, etc. It is better to see once than to read a hundred times. On the last day of rest, an impressive giant gray moray came to me, we swam with it very close at a distance of up to 1 m.

But, unfortunately, the hotel introduced some bad rule: you can now swim in the sea only from 10 am to 4 pm. If you try to swim earlier or later, you will not be allowed to do so. A beach worker on a boat literally drives tourists out of the sea. In addition, he also whistles very loudly, which is very unpleasant. If this is invented to protect tourists from shark attacks, then it is a mistake. A shark has no watch. They become more active in the dark. I had close encounters with sharks in other hotels 2 times.

This holiday I found minor flaws: the cleaning of my room became very bad, the slides in the adult water park are not all working, the a la carte restaurants for lunch are also not all working, the choice of dishes has become smaller, I was upset by an unpleasant incident with the show, I did not like the new time rule use of the sea
But thanks to the high level of service, kindness and attention of the hotel staff, I had a wonderful vacation.
Despite minor flaws, the hotel left a very positive impression. I would like to come back here again.
