We rested at Stella Makadi Beach&Spa***** from April 21. Tour operator Pegas Touristic carries to the hotel complex Stella Makadi.
Positive aspects of the hotel:
- well-groomed clean territory
- large balconies in most rooms (except corner rooms)
- good sun loungers near the pools and on the beach
- free ala carte restaurants with unlimited visits
- convenient operation of restaurants and bars.
- great kids club
Main disadvantages:
- chemical soft drinks, not even cold hibiscus, paid fresh juices, including orange, which is strange for 5 stars

- lack of air conditioning in the lobby and main restaurant. Faced with this in Egypt for the first time. At a temperature of more than +30 in the shade, the stuffiness in the restaurant is terrible. According to the complaints of tourists, the air conditioner was turned on a couple of times. But not for long. It is impossible to be in the lobby, waiting for sightseeing buses turns into torture. When asked by the reception staff whether it is possible to turn on the cooling system, they answered that the air conditioner turned off was a management decision. I have never seen such absurdity.
- the territory is not processed from mosquitoes, which are numerous in the evening and at night. Without a fumigator and special products, you will be forced to sleep with the balcony closed and the air conditioner turned on all night.
- on the terrace of the main restaurant, tables are not cleaned well, crumbs lie, ashtrays do not change. You may be put dirty cutlery.
- in bars, check cups for tea and coffee - they come across poorly washed, with the remnants of previous drinks and lipstick.
- if you come for breakfast, lunch or dinner an hour or more after the start, be prepared for the fact that the assortment will decrease by about a third, or even half. At dinner, you will no longer get tablecloths and napkins. Table setting is present for a maximum of one hour after the start of dinner.
- the grill near the main restaurant spreads odors throughout the territory due to the lack of a professional exhaust at the place of his work. If crabs are fried, get ready for the smell of cheap fried fish until 21-30.
- regardless of the presence of a daily dollar for tea, the cleaner will not report either a set of towels or a set of cosmetic accessories. The problem, however, is solved within 15 minutes by calling the reception. On the balconies do not sweep, in principle.
- as for a relatively new five-star hotel, the rooms have rather modest furnishings and chipped tiles in the bathroom.
- evening animation shows are repeated from Monday to Sunday and often look like a performance of cheap amateur performances. Although during the day the animators are quite active and all lovers of organized entertainment will have something to do.

A very important point - the hotel is absolutely not suitable for families with children. With very small ones, who don’t really need the sea and it’s enough to splash in hot water 10 centimeters deep - maybe. But older children will find it very difficult to swim there in a more or less normal sea. A pier up to 300 m long with the first descent into the water after 250 m can be a real daily challenge if you are not very used to it.
Those who praised the local food, most likely, were in Egypt for the first time or began to travel there quite recently. Food in hotels in Egypt is getting worse every year, regardless of the category of the hotel. The food at Stella Makadi Beach & Spa is rather ambiguous and its assessment could fluctuate from "everything is fine" to "nothing to choose" from day to day. One thing is good - there is a lot of food. And by carefully choosing and not mixing the immiscible, you can create a varied menu every day. There are no complaints about vegetables - they are always fresh and almost always in the right amount. Fish - a day well cooked, a day disgusting. The same goes for beef. Always delicious chicken and turkey. Fast food lovers have a place to turn around. The beach bar serves hamburgers, shawarma, french fries from 12-30. For breakfast in the main restaurant they make delicious pancakes and scrambled eggs and tasteless Belgian waffles. In no case do not take sausages and sausages - poison. For lunch, you bake bruschettas and flatbreads, like pizza, with tomato sauce and cheese - edible.
Free ice cream from 15-00 to 17-00, there is always a queue for it. Cocktails, as is customary, are non-alcoholic, no matter how much liquid from the bottle you pour into it. Good white and rosé wine. Cocktails taste better at the beginning of the day - then they start saving syrups and juices.
Stella Makadi Beach & Spa has a shopping center just opposite the entrance with a dozen shops with souvenirs and manufactured goods. The prices are insane. Most of the goods offered are frank marriage and illiquid assets. They take advantage of the fact that a trip to Hurghada will cost 10 dollars per person on a hotel bus or at least 15 euros for a taxi one way. The vaunted store "Misha's" did not impress. At first glance, it is really cheaper there, and for Russian tourists who do not speak any languages, the Russian-speaking "Misha" is very pleasant. But I wouldn't recommend shopping there.

As for the rooms, I do not recommend taking either sea-view or pool-view. The first because of the large number of mosquitoes and the sounds of beach parties, the second because of the noise and screams throughout the day. The best lines of numbers start with the numbers 2.3, 5.6, 7. Be careful - in the area of ​ ​ ​ ​.4000-4010 and 5000-5010 numbers there is a strong sewer smell all day long.
Taf-taf runs every 10 minutes between Stella Makadi Beach&Spa and Stella Makadi Garden. Stella Makadi Garden has many pools and its territory is almost twice as large as Stella Makadi Beach & Spa, you can live there, but it is far from the sea, given that the sea is far from the coast, and there is practically no greenery on the territory due to the fact that it is occupied by buildings and pools with sun loungers, which are designed to compensate for the second line. There are two of the four ala carte restaurants - Lebanese and Chinese. In Stella Makadi Beach&Spa - Italian and Indian. We recommend visiting Lebanese and Italian.
It may seem that we had a bad rest. This is not the case - the stay was good and exactly as we wanted. Despite the fact that the price of this hotel is not justified, however, like all hotels in Madinat Makadi and Makadi Bay. I recommend this hotel to people who are not afraid to walk on a pontoon and know how to swim well with a mask and snorkel - there is something to see, a lot of fish, rays, octopuses; people who have been to Egypt many times and are not interested in buying souvenirs, walking around the city and going on excursions.
