1. Hostess Lena (Ternopil) is constantly (from 9 a. m. to 7 p. m. ) at the hotel, visits all the guests every day and listens and solves all questions, requests, complaints (mosquitoes appeared in the room - they brought a fumigator, asked to extend the room upon departure - here, when checking out, there were open chips in the mini bar - you don’t need to pay, we’ll figure it out). You can immediately see a person at his workplace. Thanks!!!
2. Service. In a restaurant, on the beach, near the pool, he waved his hand, they approached, listened, brought. VERY NICE
3. On the morning of May 9, there was no water for 30 minutes, the next day they brought a souvenir to everyone in the room with an apology letter about the troubles that had been brought to us (I didn’t even catch the water shutoff, I was sleeping)
4. In the restaurant, the chef himself for breakfast, lunch, dinner comes to the tables and asks about the quality of the food. I was very pleased with the events with birthdays (we visited 2). Under the local drums, the entire staff of 7-10 people comes out and "peculiarly", but sincerely congratulate
5. In the restaurant, the food is varied, the choice is not very large, but IT CAN BE EATED, very tasty food (in Egypt, there is usually plenty of food, but there is nothing to eat). Sea food was always present in the assortment, the only thing the girls wanted was more fruit (you can see the season hasn't started yet). Alcoholic drinks on the level! (Beer, wine, cognac)
6. Cleaning in the rooms every day and with different swans, regardless of the tea left
7. Gel - shampoo. At first, we were surprised by the dispenser with liquid soap and the lack of bottles with shampoo, gel, soap, etc. (so we were taught). As it turned out, the hotel is fighting for the environment, Greenpeace and this shampoo-soap turned out to be very pleasant for all types of skin (even for the most fastidious) and the consumption of these funds is less (we don’t take souvenirs )
Hotel information:
1. Children's animation. Nastya (Vinnitsa) is a smart girl, the children were delighted with her, and our child, without hesitation, “traded” swimming in the sea for meetings in a mini club with the magician Nastya. Every evening Mini disco with adult participation - everything is great! ARAM ZAM ZAM sing until now...
2. The number of rooms is not new, but everything is in order and clean, we had a terrace on the 1st floor with its own flower bed and a palm tree in the middle. The air conditioner did not buzz-roared (as it was written above), they turned it on during the day, it was not hot at night.
3. Water park. Every 10-15 minutes, starting from 10-17, there is a free minibus, the journey takes about 15 minutes. We went in the morning, got a sunstroke even in a headdress. Therefore, we recommend after dinner with children. We went 3 times. The water park is chic, slides from small to large and the area is like our hotel. There were not many people, so there were no queues.
4. For the first time I saw that our tourists are treated well, compared to foreigners (I always felt some kind of hostility), I didn’t see anything like that here, hello SER, please, BOSS, sit down now, I’ll bring it to you...
We went in anticipation that 14 days of rest will get tired, but everything turned out to be the other way around. Before that, they always tried to visit new hotels, get new impressions. It was very disappointing to go to 5Ultra, buy a ticket for the appropriate money and get Not very good memories. And here 4 price - the quality is super and you can and should visit this hotel again and again (This is my purely personal opinion) I hope that my review will be useful to someone...
P. S. Hello Misha (pretend) and Arkasha, Dima, Sveta and Dasha (walkie-talkie)
We went to this hotel from 2008 to 2010, everything was very worthy for Egypt. And so we decided to visit Medinat Makadi again, naturally in Solymar....Terrible disappointment. It is clear that the situation in the country is not conducive to the development of the tourism industry, but the hotel is really degrading. I base my conclusion on my impressions of early visits to the hotel and on my impressions of holidays in Greece:
1. Rooms need to be renovated, furniture and plumbing needs to be changed
2. The operation of the air conditioner - the plane takes off more quietly, three rooms have been changed, it's like that everywhere.
3. Food: the quantity and variety of meat and fish dishes is depressing, it’s useless to comment about the grill, where did the chef go, who prepared salads from selected vegetables and dressings for lunch and dinner in your presence
4. The beach is very dirty, cigarette butts, plastic glasses, beach fights are not steamed at all
5. The sea is dirty in the afternoon - diesel stains are common
6. Gone are the free milkshakes for the kids at the beach bar.
7. The attitude of the staff, except for the guys from the animation - they constantly want to cheat you for money.
8. Attitude towards Russian tourists - our group had a departure delay of 5 hours. At dinner, the staff suddenly decided that we should not eat, people were taken away from the plates with food, cut off their bracelets and escorted out of the restaurant. We sat at the same table with familiar Germans. They also tried to take away food from us, including the child, and the staff was put on our indignation. And then the Germans opened their mouths, saying I don’t know, talking to them in English, a German woman from the administration and an important local manager came running. After a resonant monologue of our "defenders" we were left alone, they even brought bottles of local wine. The Germans could not understand why we “Russians” allow ourselves to be treated this way… It is clear that the flight delay is not the fault of the hotel, but not to feed 10 people or at least give lunch boxes to go when the restaurant is fully loaded is a rare redneck. I myself work in the field of nutrition, I can imagine what I’m talking about and what some dishes are made of, carefully poured with gravy and seasoned with spices
9. What is good left in hotels: funny guys from the animation and a doctor who really sits in the neighboring Club
Of course, my review and further conclusion are subjective, but if you want a quality and not very expensive holiday, forget about Egypt. We were warned in the Tez Tour that the quality had fallen, but what would be so…
Before going to this hotel, I read a lot of reviews (mostly positive), I liked one in the manner of presentation (I never wrote it myself) - I decided to write my own review in the same manner.
My review will be divided into sections:
1. Flight, accommodation and room
2. Nutrition
3. Territory
4. Animation and sports
5. Beach
6. Service
7. The contingent of vacationers
8. Water park
And so in order
1. We ourselves are from the glorious city of Ryazan. The tour was bought from the local travel agency "Treasure Island" - the guys were responsible (they immediately responded when unforeseen circumstances arose with a return departure from the airport), they told everything, explained and issued it quickly). We got to the airport by a regular bus Ryazan-Lukhovitsy-Kolomna-Domodedovo departing at 8.00 (500 rubles per person).
(I had to hire a taxi back in advance (2500 rubles a car), because they arrived late - after the last (at 24.00) bus flight). We took off at 14:50. The flight was normal (the A-320 plane (the reverse A-321 is a little larger) is not the most cramped, compared to the Boeing-757; the food is also “not bad”, but they save on juices). Closer to 19.00 (local time - at 17.00) we flew to Hurghada, received a visa and filled out the documents (by the way, you need to buy a visa not at the counters with the names of tour operators (there it is $ 17), but at the counters located to the right and slightly behind - here it costs the prescribed $ 15 and without any queue), passed the inspection and received the luggage. We arrived at the hotel in the evening (it was already time for dinner), everyone was placed in the lobby bar, while paperwork was being processed, they brought cold juice. The expansion went quickly. We got room 153, it was adjacent (there was an internal wooden door to the next room - accordingly, a lot of audibility from there).
They asked to change, without any altercation (and money) they gave another room - 147, overlooking neighboring hotels. Other rooms overlook the courtyard with a swimming pool and a summer cafe, where people (especially the Germans) sit for beer until late at night. The room is clean; the furniture is old, but not junk (the beds are iron, they stand separately and are screwed to the wall - you can’t move them together); regular (not LCD) TV with a bunch of channels (3 Russian); a small combined bathroom with a shower, there was a hairdryer (an important thing for women), all plumbing was in good order. The room has a filled minibar, naturally paid. 1 bottle of water 1.5 liters upon arrival free of charge (then you can take water from the pool bar). The bedside table was hidden in a closet in a small hallway. In general, the room - like a room - is standard for hotels in Egypt. We came to the sea, and not to hang around in the room all day! ! !
Yes, we took Fumitox with us, but it was not useful - there were no mosquitoes in the room, and there were no other living creatures either (octopuses and ants came across in other hotels).
2. The food is good, quite varied. Breakfasts are almost the same every day, but there are many dishes, there is something to choose from: eggs of all kinds, pancakes, several types of muesli, porridge, pastries, sausage, cheese, vegetables (cucumbers and ground tomatoes are delicious), fruits, hot buns with sausage. For lunch and dinner: 2 soups, meat (beef in various versions), chicken, fish, seafood, all kinds of side dishes, vegetables, cheeses, various spices, pastries, spaghetti, all sorts of baked vegetables, for dinner there is also a grill and pizza, with you baked. For late breakfast and afternoon tea cakes and buns at the pool bar. You can also dine at the Taverna bar on the beach. All day: beer (good, not diluted), wine, local spirits, cocktails in bars, ice cream, tea, coffee, cappuccino, all sorts of soda, powdered juices.
Local seasonal fruits, in our arrival were: melons and green bananas, apples, dates, guava, oranges, grapefruits, tangerines. We never got poisoned by anything, we ate salads and other cold snacks, everything is fine.
3. The territory of the hotel itself is not large, but you can use the territories of the entire Madinat Makadi, these are about 7 hotels united by one fence. Everything is very beautiful, the trees are trimmed into bizarre shapes, everything is blooming and fragrant. Everything in the area is very clean. On the main street of Madinat there are shops with souvenirs, the prices in them are the same as in Hurghada, bargain boldly, they will drop half the price. There is a grocery store, several restaurants (with national cuisine) and a bank (with a 24-hour ATM). In the evening you can ride the Taf-taf (such a train). There is a general disco, open on Wednesdays, but we did not go to it. The spa center is located next to the hotel.
4. Animation at a high level.
Girls (ours - Sasha and Nastya) and boys (Arabs) try their best (especially for children, there is a kids club). During the day you will be offered to do gymnastics, aqua aerobics, belly dancing, volleyball, boccia, water polo. In the evening every day some show (karaoke, belly dance, live music, bingo bingo (I won two prizes! ), etc. ) and a disco. On Mondays, a sports olympiad is held among Madinat hotels. The hotel has fitness equipment (fitness room), billiards (until 24 hours free of charge), table tennis.
5. The hotel is located on the 2nd line, but it is not far to go to the sea (250 meters through the Makadi Club hotel), especially in such a beautiful area. The beach has its own (although you can swim on any, but everyone has their own sunbeds - they will culturally ask you to leave), sunbeds (cots) have always been enough for everyone (because most Germans preferred to relax by the pool).
The entrance to the sea is very convenient, sandy (perhaps the best in the bay), you can go barefoot, although it is better to wear special shoes. Not far from the coast there are coral reefs, they are fenced with buoys. If you confidently stay on the water, then it is quite possible to swim to them and even swim around, especially near the reefs, a shallow on which you can safely walk. But the reefs are not very beautiful (my wife swam with a mask) and the variety of fish does not differ (corals are much better in Sharm al-Sheikh! ) Because the sea is shallow and the bottom is sandy, the water is not very clear, especially when the sea is restless (in the morning and a small breeze always blew during the day - a lot of jellyfish were nailed, and in the evening (sometimes) it was completely calm. By the end of the vacation, we learned that there are beautiful corals at the Prima Life Makadi 4 * hotel, this is to the right (if you look at the sea) along the path - the last hotel in the bay (you can get there by catamaran).
6. Service at the hotel is beyond praise.
If you are not a nasty beech, then you will be groomed and cherished there (without making any special difference between Germans and Russians). The next day after checking in, they asked if everything was fine with us. The day before departure, they warned about it and made a small present. On the day of departure, although we checked out of the room at 12.00, no one removed the “bracelets” from us - therefore, we used the restaurant at dinner (unlike Continental), and cards for towels were handed over to the reception just before departure. Cleaning in the room is perfect, every day a new "bird" of towels (and without any "tip"). There are no queues to the restaurant. The waiters are always polite and smiling, clear the table quickly. Drinks are served on the beach and by the pool. If someone had a birthday during the rest, then in the evening they congratulated him in the restaurant (a team of animators, cooks and waiters gathered - they sang songs to the beat of a drum and gave a cake with candles).
A "shuttle" goes to Hurghada, 2 times a day for 2 hours (shopping), costs $ 8 round trip.
7. The contingent of the hotel is 70% Germans, 5% British, the rest Russians. There are many pensioners, many families with children, but there are also people aged 20-35. Most of the Russians in the big hotels in Madinat: Iberotel Makadi Beach 5* and Iberotel Makadi Saraya Resort 5*.
8. Water park - a miracle of Madinat. A huge water park (not free for all Makadi hotels), with a bunch of slides for children and adults, slides of different difficulty levels. The water in the pools is warm. I am glad that safety measures are observed (watches, chains, T-shirts are prohibited), restrictions on weight, age, from adult slides you can only ride on cheesecakes or rugs. You will always be prompted how to sit and group correctly. But …. bruises happen, especially often on a slide with a whirlpool at the end (if you go "backward" into the pipe after the whirlpool). You can have a snack there in the Aquapark. Buses run from the hotel to the Aquapark every 15 minutes.
I recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday.

And so in order
1. We arrived at the hotel at 14-45, we were immediately sent to the restaurant for lunch, then immediately provided a room. The room was 243 (second floor) with a view of the neighboring hotels, one of which is under construction, but this does not interfere with the rest at all. The room is clean, everything worked. The room has a filled minibar, naturally paid. 1 bottle of water 1.5 liters upon arrival free of charge (then you can take water from the pool bar). What I personally lacked in the room was bedside tables, where all sorts of women's things can be folded.
2. The food is good, quite varied. Breakfast is the same every day, but there are many dishes to choose from. There are always new dishes for lunch and dinner. I have never been poisoned by anything, although my stomach is weak, I ate salads and other cold snacks, everything is fine. Buns and other pastries, as always in Egypt, the sea. The wine in the hotel is quite tolerable (I just remember diluted bourda in other, even 5-star hotels), beer is normal, powdered juices, cola, sprites, etc. present, I don’t drink strong drinks, so I can’t say anything about them.
3. The territory of the hotel itself is not large, but you can use the territories of the entire Madinat Makadi, these are about 10 hotels united by one fence. Everything is very beautiful, the trees are conceived in bizarre forms, everything blooms and smells sweet. Everything is very clean, no rubbish. In Madinat there are shops with souvenirs, the prices in them are the same as in Hurghada, bargain boldly, they will drop half the price. There is a grocery store and a bank not far from the hotel. In the evening you can ride the Taf-taf (such a train). There is a general disco, open on Wednesdays, but we did not go to it. There is a Spa center next to the hotel, you will be told about it on the very first day on the beach or by the pool.
4. In the afternoon you will be offered to do gymnastics, aqua aerobics, belly dancing, volleyball, boccia, maybe I forgot something else. In the evening every day some show and disco. The level of animation is average.
5. The hotel is located on the 2nd line, but it is not far to go to the sea, especially in such a beautiful area. The beach is its own, there were always enough sunbeds for everyone. The entrance to the sea is very convenient, sandy (perhaps the best in the bay), you can go barefoot, although it is better to wear special shoes. Not far from the coast there are coral reefs, they are fenced with buoys. If you confidently stay on the water, then it is quite possible to swim to them and even swim around, especially near the reefs, a shoal on which you can safely walk. Because the sea is shallow and the bottom is sandy, the water is not very clear, especially when the sea is restless.
6. Service at the hotel is beyond praise. If you are not a nasty beech, then you will be groomed and cherished there. The next day after checking in at the reception, we were asked if we were satisfied with the room, if everything was working. The waiters are always polite and smiling. Cleaning in the room is perfect, every day a new "twist" of towels. Victoria (reception manager) is always happy to help. If someone tells you that Germans in this hotel are treated better than Russians, then this is complete nonsense. A shuttle rides to Hurghada, 2 times a day for 2 hours, costs $ 8 round trip.
7. The contingent of the hotel is 70-80% Germans and Austrians, the rest are Russians. There are many pensioners, many families with children, but there are also people aged 20-35. I would like to appeal to fellow citizens, explain to me why we make a round dance out of any dances. We came to an evening of live music, the Austrians dance wonderfully, rumba, cha-cha-cha and all that, then our fellow citizens came and stood in a circle, so there is no longer a place to dance normally, and come on, I can’t even call it a dance. Why can’t we dance in pairs, even if not ballroom dancing, why do we think only of ourselves (this applies not only to dancing), we will behave like this, they won’t let us into normal hotels.
8. Now about the wonderful - this is a water park. A good water park, completely free (not for all Makadi hotels), with a bunch of slides for children and adults, slides of different levels of scariness. The water in the pools is warm, which is very important in March. I am glad that safety measures are observed, restrictions on weight, age, you can’t ride the priest from adult slides, only on cheesecakes or rugs. You will always be prompted how to sit and fold correctly.
What we liked: 1. Room service: neat, inconspicuous for vacationers; 2 main restaurant: a good selection of dishes, as for 4, excellent work of cooks and waiters; 3 good work of animators (a lot of sports activities), one of the best on the territory of Makadi beach (you can safely walk barefoot), at a distance of 150-200 meters from the shore of a coral with a good water world. The road to the beach takes a maximum of 5 minutes through a beautifully designed area. The territory of all Madinat hotels is well maintained and convenient for walking or jogging.
Disadvantages: the work of bartenders in the hotel and on the beach is a solid 2 balls, the order is taken inattentively (you can order a cocktail and get a beer), they are in no hurry, sometimes they may not notice you at all. Another drawback is subjective: non-smokers have nowhere to hide from smoking except in their own room or in the hall of the main restaurant.
Separate Fe Turtes. When applying for visas, employees of this company set up a business selling stamps for a visa: 15 dollar stamps are sold at 17 dollars. The guide at the hotel will be interested in you if you want to buy something from him, if not, he doesn’t give a damn about you.
