As for the food, the food is generally ok, but not great. For three. I liked Botanic Garden the most (you need to book a table in advance), but it's really tasty there. There is a Sunset Bar cafe on the territory, they make burgers there. We, unfortunately, also decided to try them. Burgers are assembled by hand, without gloves - as a result, my boyfriend and I had a very strong poisoning with these burgers, I do not advise anyone to eat there!
The territory of the hotel is huge and very beautiful - this is one of the few pluses of this hotel.
The rooms are old, the furniture is terribly old.
The entrance to the water is difficult, there are a lot of corals, so be careful, we scratched ourselves several times, but not critical. The sea is incredibly beautiful color + a lot of colorful fish (but don't touch them with your hands, there are dangerous! ) - this is 5 out of 5, probably the best thing in Egypt. There is also an entrance to the water from the pier, but it takes a long time to walk to it, but it is very beautiful there!
They cleaned the room well, because we left a tip, towels were changed regularly, and bottled water was also constantly given.
For the last 2 days before departure, animation appeared - a very nice guy conducted aqua aerobics and volleyball. As the representatives of the Biblio Globus explained to us, "the hotel was simply not ready for visitors from Russia, we did not expect that Russia would be opened and everyone would come to us. " Although at the same time, the hotel had a lot of guests from other countries.
Each hotel employee is waiting for a tip for any of his actions, and they stand and wait with an impudent look.
This left a terrible impression on the people and Egypt in general. Of course, "just like that" we did not leave a tip, so the attitude towards us was so-so.
The hotel, like Egypt, at the moment I do not advise at least for such big money (130.000 for two for 9 nights) as it is now.
The rooms are old, the furniture is tacky, the TV is prehistoric. The plumbing in the bathroom is falling apart right in your hands. They cleaned up for a couple of euros, really not bad (I don’t know without a tip)
The food was not tasty and monotonous. And I am writing this, a person who eats almost everything, asks for supplements and everything is always tasty to him. The faint smell of coffee also did not improve mood.
There was no heated pool either, although we were on New Year's Eve and it would not be superfluous to let the people swim, as the sea was cold. but just cold. They didn’t turn on any music, there was perfect silence all the time (like in a nursing home)
Internet is available only in the lobby. But you can’t drink a cocktail there with a laptop - all-inclusive in the lobby does not work! Pay!
On New Year's Eve, they could not gather all the people together - there was no unity, everyone was crowded on their own. I asked us for cocktails at 23.50 so that my friend and I could celebrate, so the waiter brought them already at 00.15! We didn't even have a drink in our hands to celebrate the new year! Although the official received 2 euros for the service!
The entrance to the sea is non-existent (a little thing three hundred meters ankle-length, and still covered with corals and stones (people dived from the pontoon, went in for snorkeling. There’s no other way.
In short, I will not go again and do not advise others!
My friend and I went on vacation abroad for the first time and chose the Makadi Palace Hotel for our vacation. I have to say, we really liked the hotel, it was a lot of fun)
The first thing that pleasantly surprised me was the huge beautiful territory of the hotel, it was possible to walk every day in new places. On the territory there are several adult and children's pools, bars, a huge beach, a tennis court, a playground with various houses and a water park.
We got a spacious room on the second floor overlooking the sea. The room was always clean, cleaning every day, fresh towels, linen, cool, it was great to relax there after a whole day of impressions.
We ate at the main restaurant, the food was delicious. A very large variety of different cuisines, there is even Russian. There were also seafood on the menu. Lunches and dinners are very satisfying, you can also have a bite to eat at the bar, there was also ice cream. Especially delicious desserts and various sweets were watermelons and melons, as well as various fresh fruits. Alcohol can be ordered at the restaurant or bar, both local and imported are available.
At the main pool animation, there is also a water park where they spent a lot of time. On the beach by the sea there are several bars where you can have a drink and a snack. And nearby, animators entertain people - gymnastics, dancing, aqua aerobics, volleyball, football, darts and much more. You definitely won't get bored there.
The most important thing is the sea where we spent most of the time, the beach is excellent sun loungers umbrellas everything is there even when we came after 10 o'clock you can always easily find free places. The beach is sandy, the entrance to the sea is just what both adults and children need. The staff here is very attentive to all problems respond immediately.
I also wanted to note that the hotel staff are great - there are no complaints about them, they are very attentive, thank you.
We will definitely go there again. I recommend this hotel.
While we decided not to rest in the same hotel twice in a row, we need to see something else. We chose the Makadi Palace 5 * hotel, (Makadi Bay).
Rested from 17 to 24 November 2016, with friends - two families. In order, the tour was taken again almost burning, it was so hard for everyone to coordinate vacations at the same time, in Kyiv through the Join UP travel agency. The tour was well organized: there was no flight delay, we arrived at seven in the morning, after registration at the airport I was met by a guide from the host of SUN INTERNATIONAL. We arrived in about an hour, already around 09.00 we were at the hotel, we were immediately greeted with a cocktail, which was nice.
They put on bracelets and offered rooms only in different buildings and different floors, which did not suit our company and for a small tip the issue was resolved, they were immediately sent to breakfast. We arrived early, so we did not expect such hospitality; on our return, two rooms were waiting for us side by side on the third floor in the central building overlooking the inner territory of the hotel. Liked.
At about 11.00 we were already swimming in the sea and the main thing we came for was the sea ....The weather was good, only on the first day a cool strong wind blew, so the beach strip was long and the bay was large, we had to go deep into the bay, you can swim there and in front of other hotels no one told us anything. The entrances to the sea are cut through the stones, they are somewhere at a melting distance of 100-150 meters from each other, you need to have special shoes, it is shallow near the coast and the water is cool in the second half of November, especially at low tide.
To enter the sea and swim you need to walk, you can on the water or on the beach. For some, this may be a lot and far away - in this regard, some vacationers did not leave the pools on the territory of their hotels, it was not a problem for us to take a walk, we went from the beach of our hotel or from the pier with Grand Makadi 5 *, snorkeled along the coast in one side or the other. You can also go along the shore to the desert, behind the Grand Makadi 5 * hotel and go from the shore there, it’s not very convenient to go into the water, because the sea is more beautiful there, a lot of coral islets are not very deep (3-5 meters), more marine life, a lot stingrays, moray eels can be seen more often and there are few people, not like at the pontoon. . Last year, the untouched beauty of the bay of The Three Corners Pensee hotel made a great impression. They were afraid that we would not see anything interesting here, but they were not disappointed with the sea, a large number of even flocks of various fish and fish compensated for the absence of coral gardens and labyrinths.
I especially liked to swim up towards the hotel under construction, where the corals are more alive and the water world is richer. I wanted to see a turtle, some were lucky - they saw it and sails almost to the pontoon, we didn’t have any luck this year ...The sea, no complaints, it was warm all the days, just super. And of course, the beauty of the Red Sea is impossible to convey in words ...we swam so much that we didn’t even have time to sunbathe. This year we did not go on an excursion, we took a diving tour, dived with scuba gear, the feeling is strong, if we can try to repeat the dive.
Makadi Palace 5 * is part of the RED SEA HOTELS hotel chain - Grand Makadi 5 *, Sunwing Waterworld 5 *, Makadi Sunwing Family 5 *, Makadi Spa 5 * (Makadi Bay), a large beautiful well-groomed area (it’s a pity they didn’t wait for the pool to be renovated near the main restaurant), the area is especially beautiful in the evening, magnificent illumination - thousands of lights that illuminate every building, tree and bush.
We had room number 4328. The room has two zones: a bedroom and a seating area.
as well as a very large balcony with sun loungers, the furniture is quite dated and shabby, as in the rest of the hotel, but in principle it was clean and tidy. Safe in the closet - free of charge, two bottles of water upon arrival, refrigerator, bar (for a fee), an old-style hair dryer attached to the wall, a shower and a small bath, the TV is also old, with a CRT, two channels in Russian. The air conditioning was loud and we didn't use it much. Soundproofing is good: the noise of the disco when the balcony is closed is not audible at all. They cleaned every day, very carefully, the boy twisted the figurines and changed the linen every day. Tipping was also left every day, now there are few tourists, but the person tried. Free Wi-Fi in the hotel near the reception is very bad, if you're lucky, there is paid Wi-Fi throughout the territory - it takes well.
According to the stories, most vacationers complained about the food. Although the girl from the travel agency recommended the food of this hotel.
None of us 5 people had problems with food, maybe we were lucky when we arrived at the hotel the people at the hotel literally the next day decreased significantly, and by the time we left, it had decreased by 50 percent. Vacationers are mostly elderly and old Germans, Italians, there are very few Ukrainians, Belarusians and Russians are few.
There was no such abundance of food in previous years in the 5*s, all the food is fresh and tasty, we have no complaints. For breakfast, the choice of dishes is not very diverse, for lunch and dinner there are more dishes, pastries, vegetables and fruits are more varied. In any case, you can choose food to your taste and hardly anyone will go hungry. There were cases that after visiting Ala carte restaurants, we still returned to DOME to have a bite to eat something delicious. Especially liked: fish, grilled dishes, pastries and desserts.
Drinks, as for Egypt, are not bad enough, cocktails in bars and delicious beer, drinking water, if necessary, can be taken on the beach in bottles. The staff in the restaurants is of course spoiled for tips from the Germans, who give them even just like that and it's noticeable. But if you do not pay attention to these little things and just good people are everywhere, and if they come to you in response with a smile and still fulfill your wishes, then it’s no longer a pity for a tip.
The beach is almost common for all five hotels - clean, mattresses were brought immediately, things could be left on the beach without fear for at least the whole day, they found where they left, nothing was lost. Very inconvenient - changing towels in the room and dragging them to and from the beach. You also need to be in the room when they are changed (we changed them around 18.00), otherwise you will stay wet, and this time can be spent in another more attractive place.
Naturally, a big minus for the guide from the host of SUN INTERNATIONAL, all the briefing of tourists comes down to intimidating the situation in the country (don’t go there, don’t go here) and steaming your excursions around the country and sightseeing (free) to Hurghada in order to take you to the shops from which he there is a rollback for the tourists who were taken there. Prices for everything except excursions have increased compared to previous years, probably due to the lack of tourists. You need to go to Hurghada only on your own, otherwise they won’t even let you walk around the city. And I didn’t even mention that you need to go to Sunwing Waterworld 5 * immediately after arrival to put on their bracelets in order to eat freely in their restaurants (if you wish) and ride in the water park. This was suggested to us by our fellow countrymen who had arrived earlier. The Sunwing Waterworld 5 * hotel has a good water park, you can after the sea and have fun there
The staff is mostly good, not intrusive, they practically do not speak Russian, they understand sign language well. Vacationers from Ukraine who left with us and lived in another building on the first floor had some problems: something was missing in the room, but somehow we were not aware of this issue, everything was fine with us. But I won’t deny that in Ala Carte restaurants (especially in the Caribbean and Italian) and not only there, the staff is not very respectful of Russian-speaking visitors, I don’t know why ours annoyed them, but they didn’t like the attitude towards us - or they don’t understand what you ask them for or order one thing, they bring another ...Although in other restaurants they understood our not very strong English. We didn’t particularly bother with this, but such a fact is present.
Animation is focused on the Germans and the elderly, young people are boring.
We didn’t meet Russian-speaking animators, they said that they are, somehow they didn’t meet ...Families with children in the Makadi Palace 5 *, Grand Makadi 5 * and Makadi Spa 5 * hotels are mostly not accommodated, double rooms, optionally with one older child (then the child has a sofa instead of a bed).
On the day of departure in the morning, we still managed to swim for about four hours, vacate the room before 12.00, we were allowed to have lunch, then walked a little more around the territory, exactly at 14.25 the bus arrived. At the airport, of course, security measures were exceeded, the flight to Kyiv took off on time, everything is fine.
We spent all the time at sea, which was what we needed - we had a great rest, our hopes were fully justified, and the little things are everywhere and are not worth much attention, if the requirements are higher, you need to take a more expensive hotel ....
Good value for money, the overall impression was positive about the rest at the Makadi Palace 5 * hotel, we will recommend the hotel for rest to relatives and friends, I hope next year I will choose a RED SEA HOTELS hotel.
