Natural disaster in Egypt with Pegasus.
Natural disaster in Egypt with Pegasus.
I went with Pegasus to Cairo from Taba on January 17.2010. I can describe how the great Pegasus saves his tourists during a natural disaster. Three buses from Pegasus with tourists from Ukraine and Russia were returning from Cairo. Two hours later, a downpour began - for Egypt, this is a natural disaster. Bus drivers stopped when they saw the puddles. The accompanying guides from Pegasus were completely confused in this situation. They did not have the information and said that they had nothing to do with Pegasus - they were only escorts.
There was a telephone connection and Pegasus was aware of what was happening, but it took a very long time to make a decision. We stood in the desert for an evening, night and day without water and food. We were forcibly (we didn’t want to leave, everyone was waiting to be let through, our buses were the first in the convoy of cars) they took us to an eatery on the road and offered to eat at our own expense at crazy prices, but people refused, bought only water and cookies, then we were given a glass of tea each. So we toiled in the desert with small children and old people, a pregnant woman, an asthmatic who had run out of medicine, people who asked for medical help for a very long time and everyone was waiting for the weather by the sea, waiting for all the puddles to dry up and we will go , but useless.
It turned out that in the evening we could continue to wait at the hotel and return to Cairo.
In the morning we learn that it is impossible to go by bus. Pegasus continues to think further and we wait with him (I remind you that three days have passed since the beginning of the tour, many should have flown home and go on paid local tours for a long time). We were taken out by plane in the evening. Late in the evening people were taken to their hotels. And you know what the director of Pegasus in Ukraine told me - say thank you that you did not stay waiting in the desert until the road was repaired. According to local forecasts, the road had to be repaired for another three days. Dear tourists, forget about your compensation. We were not led through the desert like Jews, but we were saved. Jews - tourists from Romania were more fortunate - they were immediately sent to the airport, to Cairo, they are not Russians - they have a green corridor
