We preferred Grand Plaza Resort to Grand Plaza for an additional two days of rest for the same money and never regretted it.
We arrived at the hotel at around 2:00 pm, so we settled right away. The rooms are decent with a set for tea drinking and a large balcony (if on the first floor - a terrace).
The hotel is built in the shape of a rounded rectangle with a cascade of pools and a mini-water park in the center. All rooms with windows (balconies) are located in the center to the pools.

Go to the sea 500 steps (about 3-4 minutes at a slow pace along a beautiful alley). The beach is wonderful with a smooth sandy entrance to the sea. It is one for the Grand Plaza and the Hilton (it used to be separated by buoys, now they have been removed - swim and sunbathe wherever you want). The beach is clean - both the beach and the coast are constantly cleaned. Behind the beach is a spit with corals, where you can snorkel and watch the fish. They write that in the Plaza aquatic center (on the beach) they give free masks, fins and canoes for half an hour, this is true, but not really - you must leave a deposit of 5 bucks and if you use more than half an hour, they do not return.
The staff is polite, helpful. The food is normal - meat, chicken, fish all the time for lunch and dinner. Breakfasts are a bit monotonous: scrambled eggs (you can mix or fried eggs), boiled eggs, small sausages, cheese, sausage, etc. In the early days there were many Arabs on vacation, which is not very good - like in a gypsy camp, they are very noisy, but then, either they rushed off to the revolution, or somewhere else, but it became much calmer. By the way, there is nothing to be afraid of the revolution - it is far away. The only inconvenience is that it is unsafe to travel on excursions to Luxor, Cairo and Alexandria, and tour operators generally temporarily suspended such excursions.
We drove from Pegasus, the hotel guide Dimitri cheerfully tried to sell excursions at a triple price: do not agree, but walk along the embankment in the evening and choose according to your taste and budget. I personally used the services of Egypt Tours Orbit opposite the Saltan Beach Hotel: three times cheaper, and traveled with people who took excursions from tour operators. Do not believe the statements of the hotel guide that such excursions are not covered by insurance, but simply read the insurance policy. The beach also offers excursions for a couple of bucks cheaper than a hotel guide.
Almost all the animation (except for a children's disco, or a miserable likeness thereof) in the Grand Plaza and this is more a plus than a minus - the hotel is quiet and calm.
On the beach and animation program, you can use the bars of the Grand Plaza, both drinks and snacks.
In general, the holiday was a success, I recommend both hotels.
