At the end of September 2008, my friends and I were lucky to once again visit this mysterious and alluring country with its hospitality. Before that, I had already been to Egypt, several times in Sharm el-Sheikh and had a clear idea about the hotel base and the services offered. My friends and loved one were only in Turkey and it was hard for them to understand what was happening.
Nevertheless, we made up our minds: our choice fell on the hotel in Hurghada-Alf Leila Wa Leila 4 *, which belongs to the Pick Albatros hotel chain, and we were looking forward to the day of departure... We took off early in the morning from Borispol airport in Kyiv. Our operator was Tez Tour.
The plane took off into the sky without delay and at 9 am local time we were already in Hurghada. She met us with the scorching sun and excellent weather (it was raining in Kyiv at that time), which we were incredibly happy about! Brief formalities at the airport and then the guide meets us and we get on the bus. On the way, we stopped at several hotels, brought people there, and each time we were amazed at the beauty and sophistication of the architecture. But the main surprise awaited us later - our hotel! We were brought in last. We got off the bus and just gasped . . no one expected to see such beauty! It was just a castle from a fairy tale about Aladdin!

There were no problems at the reception - we were immediately given the keys to two cozy and fairly large rooms on the same floor in the building, which was away from the main pool, without any extra charges. At first we were upset and wanted to go change rooms, but then we thought it was a good quiet place. So it turned out - there was no music and sounds from the evening show 1001 nights, which was held every day in different languages. People who lived closer to reception, complained about the noise in the evenings. We were lucky!
Upon arrival, we quickly unpacked our things, changed clothes and immediately went to the main pool, which impressed us with its unusual appearance and active animation. It was quite crowded and fun! There are five pools in the hotel, but we hardly swam in them, as we tried to spend all the time at sea.
Later, when lunch started, we went to the main restaurant Cave du Rou. Here, too, we were in for a pleasant surprise! Such an abundance of food is not found in every hotel! Everything was very tasty! Throughout the rest, the chefs tried to diversify the menu and arranged themed dinners. We were definitely satisfied with the food. In the evenings in the main restaurant, you could sit down at a laid table on the street, dine and enjoy light music. Also open in the hotel are many bars and cozy corners where you can relax. Then, if you wish, you can go to see the evening animation program. Unfortunately, it was not conducted in Russian, but everything was clear and so.
So, we decided to dedicate the first day just to passive relaxation by the pool: swimming, sunbathing and just relaxing after working days.
The next day, our guide made an info-meeting, where we purchased excursions to Luxor and a boat trip to El Gouna. Then we went to the sea. The hotel is located on the second coastline, but, to be honest, we didn’t even feel it! At the exit from the hotel, there was always a bus waiting for those who wished. So we always went to the beach. Only three minutes and we are at sea! Long awaited sea!

They took us to the beach of the Dana Beach 5 * hotel, which was also from our hotel chain. The beach is good - nothing to say. Large, clean, lots of sun loungers, there are also large sunbeds like houses, where we were always accommodated by the four of us. There is also a bar on the beach from our hotel. It was very convenient - you don’t even have to go to our hotel for lunch, you could have lunch right here on the beach. There is also beach animation - aqua aerobics, dancing, volleyball, etc.
An interesting feature of the beach is an artificial lagoon, where it is convenient to swim for those who cannot swim and children, and there is an open sea, where if you swim away with a mask, you can see corrals and fish. On the coast, unfortunately, they are almost non-existent.
A few words about excursions: Luxor, of course, struck, but it was hard, the heat was up to 50 degrees and not the slightest breath of breeze! In the Karnak temple, everyone felt bad... Cola and water had never seemed so tasty to us It was no better in the Valley of the Dead either, we could hardly walk through the tombs. When the heat subsided, we were just in the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut - here we were able to take a normal walk, take a photo and take a breath. We arrived at the hotel at eleven o'clock in the evening, sat in the bar and went to rest. Despite such inconveniences, we did not regret a bit that we went! It's worth seeing!
We really liked the boat trip to El Gouna and brought a lot of pleasure! El Gouna is a resort north of Hurghada. Its peculiarity is that the whole land is pitted with canals, along which boats and small boats ply between the islets. Hotels are located on the islands, which are connected by bridges. A very romantic place to stay! During the excursion we fished from the yacht, dined on fresh fish, visited the aquarium in El Gouna and snorkeled on the coral reef. The guide told the history of the creation of the resort and its attractions. We rode a boat through the canals and looked at this wonderful piece of Venice.

Of course, we visited the city of Hurghada itself on one of the free evenings. To be honest, Sharm el-Sheikh is more calm in this regard. Hurghada is exactly the City! People live there, public transport travels, etc. In Sharm, this is not the case - there are only Naama Bay and the Old Market where you can buy souvenirs. What is striking in Egypt is the lack of elementary traffic rules! They are simply not there! There are no signs, no crossings. . . cars drive at breakneck speed and it's very dangerous.
Time has flown by unnoticed and now we are collecting things. According to international rules, check-out from the room is at 12 noon, regardless of the time of departure home. Our flight was at 18:30. We packed our bags at 10 in the morning and transferred them to the room of our friends, who stayed at the hotel for another 4 days. Having gone to the beach and having lunch there, we were ready to leave. It turned out that our flight was postponed at all to 12 o'clock at night! Of course, I had to wait at the airport, but this did not overshadow our impressions of the rest!
Now I remember these sunny days with warmth in my soul and madly want to return! Return home... to Egypt... .
