We went to El Tabia to celebrate the New Year, rightly judging that for $ 294 for a week for two (including NG dinner) it would be cheaper than for 3 days in the Carpathians.

It was the first time in Hurghada and in 2 stars (and I think for the last time : ) ).

About the hotel - makes a good impression until you get closer. The hotel looks unfinished, aged, I don’t know how they did it.

Initially settled in a room overlooking the sea, spacious and large. But, knowing from experience that they almost never settle in good rooms the first time, especially on the street under the windows they laid asphalt, they asked to change the room. The receptionists did not resist (and were generally friendly and adequate) and provided a choice of 4 rooms. We chose a 2-storey room (just in the front tower of the hotel). There is hot water (where it is centralized, where there is a boiler in the room), the furniture is normal, albeit old; air conditioners did not work, so it was cold in the rooms at night; no insects or animals.
Linen and towels were not changed, cleaned poorly.

The dining room deserves a special mention because of the design. The columns, painstakingly sculpted and painted in the shape of fresh poop, apparently symbolize the food in the hotel, for it is wretched and creepy. On the HB diet, breakfasts were a la carte - i. e. rolls, 1 piece of feta and melted cheese, 3 pieces of cucumber and tomato each, parsley salad (i. e. just finely chopped parsley - I have not seen this before), an egg (if come early) and coffee/tea (with sugar! ). Dinner - soup, rice / pasta, meat dish, vegetable. 2-3 salads, tangerines, melon. In general, you can survive if you want. We do not accept this, so we ate at other establishments, in particular at Mr. Sam" - a Russian restaurant 50 meters to the left of the hotel - good (really! ) cuisine, including a native borscht, normal prices and service. We can safely recommend.
Beach - near the hotel - the beach of the ex-bar Hed Kandi, which was once a very fashionable place, and still retains a touch of its former luxury. The beach is not bad, but they are not allowed to drink their own drinks, and the prices in the bar apparently have been preserved since the heyday of the club. We sunbathed on the new Hed Kandi Beach Bar on Hurghada Marina Boulevard - generally a super glamorous place with great music (admission per person - 50 pounds, the price includes a towel and a bottle of water)

As a result, the hotel can be recommended as a base for sightseers and beachgoers, that is, to wash / sleep.
