I rarely write reviews, but since there are almost no fresh reviews after quarantine, I decided to write. Rested at Dana Beach Resort August 01-08.2020. At Lviv airport, half of the tourists without masks, dressed only for control. Almost everyone on the plane is without masks.
Arrived at 4 am, settled in the room for an hour at no extra charge. Room given # 4106 in the 4th building, ground floor, actually halfway between the sea and the main restaurant. The sun does not enter the room from the terrace, as it is covered by a terrace from above. The air conditioning is a bit noisy, but other hotels have seen worse. The plumbing looks like new, but the tiles and furniture are a bit old, although in general everything was fine and we were not looking for the best. Everything was fine with the sewerage, hot water constantly. Clean well, although the swans were not twisted even for tips. The room has one large double bed, one regular.
Breakfast is served with orange juice, but it is a little different from the one in other hotels prepared for you for $ 1 - here the impression is that fresh juice with pulp, diluted with juice from the package. The rest of the juices from the package are not of poor quality. The food I would say is modest compared to other hotels in the same price category (perhaps due to security measures on kovid), although you will not be hungry. For breakfast, scrambled eggs, porridge, sausages, sausage, cheese, salads, croutons, desserts, prepare espresso from coffee beans. Every lunch and dinner of meat there is chicken and veal, cheap fish, once fried tuna. Cakes / pies are not very large range, but everything is delicious and easy to "come in".
There were tourists with very young children, they also had something to eat. Seafood - they are almost non-existent, except for a few squid. Several times in the restaurant la marshe grilled on the territory, the meat was the norm, and the fish is terrible, they do not know how to grill it.
There are many different restaurants that did not work Italian. From fruits in restaurants melon, apples, pears, bananas, dates, grapes. The snack bars offer snacks during the day (except lunch and dinner in the main restaurants), offer 2 types of shawarma, pizza with ingredients to choose from, burgers, fruit, drinks.
About the sea. It is very warm here in summer, it feels 25-28, but one day it was 21-22 degrees, clean, without waves. The beach is very good, the number of umbrellas up to 900, you can always find a place not too close to others (but it's not about the first lines to the sea, the first places are in the morning). A small part of the beach is set aside for tourists from other hotels in the town of Albatross (they were brought by bus), but we can also be there. Sunset in the sea is gentle, beautiful, nice sand along the entire sea line, with children will be great! Sand is removed daily from algae, and they are also caught with a net from the sea, for which the staff has great respect.
There is almost always a wind from the sea, and it saves from the heat, one evening a barrel from the desert - it was really very stuffy. And yes - the August heat due to low humidity is not difficult to tolerate (although I can not stand the heat), the rooms and restaurants are cool. The sun is very active, you need a cream with a UV index of at least 40-50, without the cream at 9 o'clock in the morning you can burn in 7-10 minutes, not to mention the peak of the sun at noon. We were under umbrellas almost all the time, although we like to sunbathe. For lunch - low tide, sea level drops somewhere 60-80cm, on the left side of the beach is exposed sandy spit, which can be walked and take good photos. There is no reef in the hotel bay, but if you swim from the right pier towards the Desert Rose Hotel, there is a reef and interesting fish, corals, turtles and stingrays, although in Hurghada the sea is not as rich as in Sharm.
The hotel area is large, well-kept, a large number of gardeners. The building near the central restaurant is being repaired.
Greens are not as much as in some other hotels, but beautiful. There are many swings for children, children's water park. A feature of the hotel is a canal along the hotel with sea water and sea fish, their tourists are fed bread. A boat carrying tourists runs on the channel from 8 to 20.
