It didn’t take long to choose a hotel: I did a search on the Internet - the best hotels of the season in Hurghada, 5 hotels came out, in the first place was
Steigenberger al Dau Beach Hotel and on the second
Dana Beach Resort Hotel. After some deliberation, we settled on the second one. I worked out everything to the smallest detail: so that the arrival was early and the departure late, I spent a lot of time on various forums and not in vain, all the information I found was useful to us later.
We flew from Frankfurt am Main to Hurghada with Airberlin. The flight was delayed by 40-50 minutes, but we were not particularly upset, because in the departure hall we met other Russian speakers who also flew to this hotel, so we gathered a decent company that has something to talk about: what kind of tour . about. what number ordered, etc.

At the airport, we were met by a "local" guide, to whom we approached only after we bought a visa and changed money, although it was offered to buy a visa from him for 25.
00 euros instead of 15 dollars in the bank, but somehow I didn’t want to overpay. It’s not far to go to the hotel, while we looked around and arrived. Porters took things from the bus and left them on the street to the left of the entrance. We were taken to the reception and seated on sofas. Without having time to look around, a waiter already approached us with some very cold drink, similar to a fruit drink. A few seconds later, someone else came up and gave us forms to fill out. While we were filling them out, again someone came up and put bracelets on our hands. Then they took these forms from us and sent us to a restaurant for lunch. Everything was somehow very fast, even now I can’t remember who approached us.
Having returned from lunch, we were already given cards from the rooms, it happened a little faster for us (there were four of us: my husband and I and our friends) because the day before departure I wrote an eMail to the hotel with a request to reserve rooms for us on the second floor and wrote 8-10 numbers of rooms in which we would like to settle. I read a lot of reviews, talked a lot on the forum and already knew roughly which rooms are the best, although we had booked a deluxe room with a direct sea view. A few hours before departure, I received a response from the hotel that the rooms were reserved for us, and so it was, we did not wait a second. Leaving the hotel, we were seated on an open electric car (or whatever it is called) and, together with our suitcases, were taken to our rooms. The driver joked all the way in Russian, then in German, and as it turns out later, they all have wives from Russia and Russian women are the most beautiful.
(They know how to give compliments, as long as they buy something from them, I mean the sellers of excursions on the beach. ) He brought everything to the room, and of course, how can one not give a tip after such a service?

HOTEL

The hotel has already been fully described in previous reviews, I will only add that we really liked the territory, very well-groomed, everything is clean and tidy. Is there a lagoon on site? ! So beautiful, we rode the boat more than once - one sheer pleasure. "Boatmen" are always friendly, always smiling, children are very friendly. I am talking about other people's children, because our children are already resting on their own. By the way, there were a lot of vacationers with children, and a lot of young people, and representatives of the "senior" age were also present, in a word: from young to old. There was no feeling that the hotel was crowded, I think it was because of the large territory.
Vacationers in the hotel are mostly Germans, but there are enough of us (I do not make distinctions between Russians, Ukrainians, Belarusians or anyone else, we are all Russians there who speak Russian). For the sake of interest, I once said that I was from Belarus, they looked at me without understanding and kept repeating: Russian, Russian ...
Once they heard English speech, quite often one could hear another Slavic speech, this is either from the Czech Republic or from Slovakia, I can’t say for sure. There were many Poles, and even Italians met. Someone spoke French, but from which country?... many people speak this language. I love it when they speak different languages ​ ​ around me: after all, I'm on vacation and abroad!

LOCATION
A lot has already been written about the location of this wonderful hotel, but I want to write about the beach.
The hotel has its own sandy beach, a gentle entrance to the sea, no special shoes are required here.

There were always enough sun loungers and umbrellas, there was no need to take seats at 6 in the morning, although there were such. For us, it was not important in which row to take place: in the first or in the fifth. The beach is very clean, cleaners constantly walk on it and pick up all the "motes". Everything is great, except for the sea. I didn’t like it here at all: the bluish water, not the color of the sea, immediately hurt my eyes. On the left is a pier, on the right is a pier, on the left is a sand spit, which closes the beach in the form of a semicircle, this is especially visible at low tide and from a boat, when there is sand and stones on the spit, and then it turns out like a large pond. At high tide, the water on the beach is renewed, especially if the wind is from the sea, but by how much? The color remains unchanged, the water is a little cloudy, sometimes with small algae, there can be no talk of any waves, but for those who like to swim, that's what you need. We went along the spit to the sea, so to speak, to the real sea, with a smell and waves.
Be sure to wear special shoes. But every time you are not, especially under the scorching sun, the path is not close, 200-300 meters, and maybe a little more. This is probably the only thing I didn't like about this hotel.

SERVICE
The service is just super, I have already partially described. No one asks for a tip anywhere, no one stands with outstretched hand, does not make any hints, and therefore I want to give it myself. Initially on tour. documents, in the general provisions of the hotel, it was written that for cleaning the rooms, as it were, expected up to 10.00 euros per week, as a tip, but this is not necessary, as expected, but optional. Our room was cleaned perfectly, Ahmed was great! Problems were solved immediately, and we had enough of them. Once we forgot both cards in the room, we came from the beach, but there was nothing to open the room. The husband went to the security guard to call the reception that we could not enter the room.
While he was walking, I found Akhmed, he opened the number for me, and a few minutes later they brought us the third card.
Even when checking in, Ahmed immediately came and introduced himself who he was and what he was, then their boss came and also introduced himself, leaving a phone number in case of problems. Another time we broke a bottle of wine. Upon check-in, we were presented with this wine and fruit, because we had a silver wedding. And when we wanted to drink this wine, a bottle from the mini-bar fell to the floor and shattered! I collected the bottles, there were not enough toilet paper and napkins to clean everything, I had to ask for help again. Everything was cleaned quickly, of course, we gave an extra tip. Then our safe stopped working, it turns out the batteries were dead there. Came in and replaced it, fast and accurate.

If we needed an extra towel, no problem, if we wanted more sprite than forfeits, no problem, we just had to tell Ahmed about it and he brought what was asked for. In the restaurants, too, everything was fine, before you have time to look back, the wine was already poured into the glass, the plates were removed. Well, sometimes, very rarely, the wine was not topped up instantly, but we are not the only ones in the entire restaurant. Especially if the restaurant is full, they flew there like on wings, constantly asking if everything is fine. And on the beach: in this heat all day back and forth with glasses and trays. Some come up and ask what to bring? And if when they didn’t come up, then you could call, and then they will bring what you order. I always tip if I use their services. Many people know a few words in Russian, in German, of course, more, but there are no problems with English.
Our flight was late, at 19:50, and at 12:00 we did not want to leave the room at all, we also wanted to sunbathe and take a shower before the road. We went to the reception and asked to extend the room, no problem, we were extended until 18:00 for 20.00 euros, I basically knew this in advance. At 16:00 we put the suitcases out the door, they were then taken away and brought to the entrance to the hotel, we didn’t even see how and who? By 4:50 pm we had just reached the bus to go to the airport. In a word, the service in this hotel is at the appropriate level! Just super!
