I want to share with you my impressions of the rest in this hotel, where my husband and I stayed from January 3 to 10.2009, and I will immediately say that we love, albeit more expensive, but rest in good hotels.
To begin with, the weather at this time of the year is colder there than, for example, in Sharm (in which we had previously rested for 5 years in a row on New Year's holidays), there is a strong wind and very cold in the evenings. Be sure to take warm clothes. During the day, it’s good to lie on the beach and swim in the heated pools, but even the animator who led the water aerobics climbed into the pool with no particular pleasure. But still we got a good tan and swam. After 15-00 you can already safely dress.
The hotel is really not new, but the territory is well-groomed and green, and the rooms are quite decent and very large (compared to European hotels with miserable rooms and toilets).

We did not swim in the sea, because. it was cold, but many people even with children swim, and the bottom there is not at all muddy and without algae. The channels themselves are made with an underground artificial system of constant water movement, which does not allow them to stagnate, so there is clean water and nothing stinks!
In the hotel itself, the food is good, you can dine in one of the restaurants - basically (where breakfast is served) or Limone, which is a level higher, food is always beautifully served there, and live music is played in the evenings. For example, we alternated dinner in these restaurants.
What, of course, was very striking was their Marina lagoon (to which we always traveled from the hotel for 10 pounds by tuk tuk - a transport designed for 2 people), which is so clean and beautiful that you don’t even believe that you are in Egypt . Something reminded me of Monte Carlo by the yachts that were there. And of course the service is top notch.
In the very center of the city of El Gouna DounTown you can walk on foot for a walk, for example, have lunch. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised that you can safely walk everywhere and not be afraid of the Arabs, who in Sharm and Hurghada are very annoying and arrogant. It's not like that at all here, although sometimes we met.
It was not clear to me where so many Arabs are resting in the hotel - either they bring their local rich people there, or from other countries....but it became unpleasant that they constantly stare at beautiful girls, and once they even sat and filmed me on their phones, as I go to the pool to swim - of course, it was not very pleasant for me.
But in general, the impression was very good about the rest, I think in the future, if we choose between El Gouna and Sharm, then we will go to El Gouna.
