1. Food. People are poisoned by several people a day. And those are just the ones we met by chance. We also got poisoned several times to the point of dizziness, fever and vomiting. Alcohol did not even think to drink. After that, people began to choose their food more carefully and it turned out that there is almost no reliable food other than french fries and Pepsi. The fruit smelled rotten every other time. That is, they, like other products, were reported from past meals. Appliances were dirty. Juices are often diluted with water.
To the complaint of a large group of tourists, the Anex Tour guide (Anex tour) replied that she would settle the issue with the administrator, but nothing has changed, as if it has become even worse. At the same time, the same guide did not want to return the money for the tour to the poisoned family per day, but under pressure, she nevertheless returned the money for 3 out of 4 places. Cunningly invented))
In general, in this "all inclusive" we lost weight.
2. The room was ruined and old, only cleaning was a plus.
The tap water and the shower are smelly and salty, and so it is throughout the "hotel". From the water, the skin on the palms began to peel off in patches (see photo)
The water also disappeared several times a day. There is no extractor in the shower and rusty condensate is constantly dripping from the ceiling.
Soundproofing is missing as a class. Huge cockroaches are running around.
3. Internet. $30 a week for wi-fi working only at the reception is too much. Although, as it turned out, "some" girls somehow got the password to the free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. Most likely the Internet is free here, as is the safe, for which they ask for $ 15 for 7 days and for some reason $ 21 for 9 days. The people pay because The crime situation around is tense.
4. Safety. For the first time at a beach resort, we saw a lot of guards armed with machine guns, especially the night shift.
It is better not to walk along the streets, and there are no streets as such in principle. It is better not to demonstrate valuable things if there is an instinct for self-preservation)
5. Contingent. Tourists are divided into 2 types: 1. caught "by mistake", believing the "heavenly" pictures on the Internet. 2. those who came to "anneal" (if you understand what it is about) There are also quite a few priestesses of love. Watch your husbands carefully, because. you can rent a room for these purposes directly at the hotel. Upon learning of this, sleeping on mattresses and beds was unpleasant.
6. RESULT. The experience gained is invaluable. No more foot in the Dominican Republic!
Oreneir flew from Biblio Globus, got a very long time, first to Moscow, waited 7 hours there, but without delay got on the plane and flew 12 hours to Punta Cana, flew in, went through control for a very long time, after getting into the transfer and in 20 minutes we reached hotel, were the only ones who arrived there, settled in 10 minutes, a room on the first floor at number 106, an ordinary no-frills room (hairdryer, air conditioning, fan, TV with 1 Russian channel, balcony, double bed, and shower with salted water), there is no safe in the room, just take it for a fee, we didn’t take it, because the camera was always with us and the money too, because we were constantly walking, there was nothing to steal from us, and what was left in the room nothing was missing, for some reason there was no refrigerator it was, we told the guide about it, she asked to bring it, but she said that we should remind them, we didn’t remind us, we didn’t bring anything, we honestly forgot about him, apparently just like them) The room is not to say that it’s damp, but damp, things did not dry on the balcony, they returned home with a full suitcase of damp things). Towels for a deposit of 10 bucks, you hand over a check and a towel in the county, they return the money, you can change it on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the hotel has three pools, we never swam in any, we disappeared all day in the ocean) )), a bar in the hotel in the restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner and near the second pool, open until 23:00, there is a cocktail card, you choose a cocktail, they pour you, alcohol is not like in Egypt, much better! The food in the restaurant is excellent, the sea fruits, I ate delicious pineapples until next year, probably))), papaya, bananas, watermelons, melons, passion fruit, apples, grapefruits, tangerines, several types of cheeses, sausages, sausages, meat, bacon, chicken, fish, constantly different things then, potatoes, rice, pasta, a lot of chopped vegetables, sweets, all kinds of cakes, donuts, chocolate, honey, caramel, a lot of cereals, a toaster, buns, yogurts, smoothies in the morning, fruit, in the evenings themed cuisine, we had Spanish , Italian and Mexican, they even slaughtered a roasted pig. On the beach there is a bar and a snack bar, in the bar there are a lot of drinks, in a snack-b are: sandwiches, hamburgers, french fries, chicken fries and fruits are all available throughout the day.
It’s a minute to walk to the beach from the hotel... upon arrival, there were no algae on the hotel’s beach at all, they were there for the last three days, but they were somehow a piece and if you walk 30-40 meters to the left or right from the hotel, then they weren’t there absolutely, and there was snow-white sand and a turquoise ocean, a lot of sunbeds, there was always enough, there is also a shower on the beach. On the right there is a pier and a pirate ship, a sunken yacht and a sea of shops, if you go left there will be a tree with stones in the water near the Russian store there are huge parrots, if you go further there will be a hanging palm tree))) Wi-Fi at the hotel is expensive, so we went from the hotel to the city, there is free Wi-Fi in the store, it takes 5-7 minutes to walk, we personally bought a SIM card from the guide. in expensive hotels there is no, there is water aerobics on the beach at 11 o’clock, volleyball on the beach) We didn’t need this evening animation, we got up at 6 in the morning, went to meet the dawn, walked all day, only came to eat, didn’t stick around in the hotel, and in the evening at 10-11 we were already falling asleep), what can I say about excursions, in principle they are not related to the hotel settle down, but we went to Saona, the unreal Caribbean Sea and coconut palms... bounty... we didn’t go anywhere else, we didn’t want to go anywhere else, and we weren’t there for long, we didn’t want to go on excursions every other day, yes and in terms of money, I take into account our salaries in Voronezh, I’ll say that it’s not cheap !! ! Regarding mosquitoes: Guys, I don’t know, I didn’t take anything with me from mosquitoes at all, I thought to buy there, but it didn’t come in handy at all....no one bit me at all !! ! I’m not tasty, apparently))) Regarding the sun, I’ll say: be sure to buy a cream with protection 50, this is not a joke, especially if you are white, burn even under the clouds !! ! We didn’t believe, we smeared ourselves with 20, but the next day they went for 50, then they got tanned and smeared with coconut oil, a black man arrived))) True, she began to climb on the plane) There are three simulators in the hotel, if you follow the sign of the Sport Club, you will find it, in the fresh air under the roof on the 1st floor , there are sofas, a TV and a billiard table, in the evenings they played billiards).
Summing up, I’ll say: We personally liked the hotel, for the price when compared with 4 kami and consider that they are also located in the Bavaro zone and not far from our hotel, and we flew to watch the ocean, and not 4 walls, it turned out very much nothing! to this paradise, but I don’t want to focus on one country, it’s interesting to see others... but if I ever return to the Dominican Republic, I will boldly choose this hotel. Thanks to everyone who helped organize this heavenly vacation....I left with tears in my eyes , in the truest sense of the word... Dominican Republic forever in my heart!

In general, I liked everything: very friendly, cheerful staff, which is simply impossible to watch without a smile.
The food is varied, you can always choose everything according to your taste. But the coolest thing is freshly brewed natural coffee, with a varied assortment - a pleasure. Also, on certain days, different cuisines - Spanish, Mexican, Dominican. Good wines, beer. Bars, on the beach and in the hotel, offer a variety of cocktails. Another, very big plus, what is missing in Egypt, you can not be afraid to pour water into a bottle, i. e. in the morning, you can drink a glass of water, right in your room, without going anywhere.
Another, from an unpleasant surprise, was that wi-Hi, at the reception, turned out to be paid and quite expensive. But I still found a way out, however, hoping for free Internet, for the first two days, I practically turned out to be without communication, the MTS SIM card, roaming turned on, got through, but did not put money on this SIM card. Then they suggested where there is free Internet, went to the store, could not set it up for a long time, but then it was difficult to connect, then everything was simple, there is also Internet on the territory of beach shops.
From entertainment - you can play volleyball with local staff, the attitude towards women is respectful, everyone is accepted to play. You can swim in the pool in the morning and not late in the evening, because when it gets dark, the water is disinfected, although I have seen many times that they clean and pour the solution in the morning. That's probably all. Of course, it's not enough, it would be possible to arrange small dance evenings, but as they say, boredom is an occupation of idlers. It is very pleasant to walk in the evening near the ocean, to feel the wet sand and hear how the ocean speaks.
Excursions, you can take from the guide, or you can get cheaper on the beach, but everyone decides for himself. Tours are expensive. I really wanted to visit Saon Island, and I immediately took this excursion from the guide, but when you rest, you don’t count money, the expectation was justified, delight. The second tour was taken on the beach, $ 20 cheaper, in St. Domingo, the guide spoke three languages, because. they gathered on the bus, as in that joke: Germans, Russians and one Mexican, funny. In terms of time, the excursion was less than the "official" one, but there was plenty of it in such heat, because on another excursion, the guide was playing for time, people arrived tired, being in the sun for a very long time. There was a free tour to a tobacco factory and a little shopping in the store.
There are shops on the beaches, including Russian ones, the prices are not very different, you can buy both more expensive and cheaper, for about similar products. I bought gifts with a local larimar stone when we went to St. Domingo, I did not lose, because everything was more expensive on the beach. But I bought coffee and chocolate rum on the beach in a Russian store. Rum, in the store "Treasure Island", the local seller Slava gives a try, tells and suggests, so you can buy everything there, the only thing is that you can't bargain in Russian stores.
You can talk for a long time, the impressions are very pleasant, I did not regret at all that I went, though the next trip is planned to Cuba, they were very praised, you need to try a real majito and pina colada.
I want to thank the staff of this hotel, for the good mood and smiles that they bestow on almost everyone, this is the most singing nation. Peace and blessings to you, Dominicans.
Pros:
the relative cheapness of the hotel compared to its neighbors on the beach;
delicious food, including a more or less stable supply of ripe mangoes and pineapples;
friendly staff;
the presence of coolers with drinking water without limiting its consumption;
bright and spacious superior rooms, with a constant supply of fresh air, if the windows overlook the ocean and the main pool;
nice area, especially the part where the two-story bungalows are located:
proximity to the beach;
the presence in all hotel bars of the healing drink mamajuana,
the presence in a 15-20 minute walk along the coast (in the direction of the Barcelo hotel) of two "Russian" shops with fixed prices, where you can buy everything that is worth bringing from the Dominican Republic (rum, coffee, cocoa, mamajuana in bottles or in a dry mix, vanilla , cigars, etc. ). In the second - more extensive and representative - the store also accepts rubles!
a 5-minute walk from the hotel along the same street where it is located, a grocery mini-market with prices fixed in pesos and the possibility of converting purchases into euros and dollars;
the complete absence of mosquitoes, which frighten in other reviews.
Minuses:
Residents of the main building, whose windows overlook the ocean and, accordingly, the main pool with a bar, which is the center of the entire hotel party, until 23-10 are guaranteed deafening music from speakers directed at your windows, and frantic screams, whistles and clapping of tipsy Latinos and the Dutch and Russians who joined them, and after 11 p. m. for about an hour, lively communication and fraternization of people from all Latin American countries who decided to settle in this particular hotel;
Those whose windows face the opposite side, i. e. , the windows of a neighboring hotel and bamboo thickets, are guaranteed relative silence, constant semi-darkness and dampness with a musty smell;
Some rooms in the main building are connected by wooden doors (locked), through which you hear every sneeze and every word of the neighbors, and also feel the tobacco smoke. This is especially annoying at night, when a couple of Russian alcoholics arrive, who have not yet realized the 8-hour time difference and are suffering from insomnia;
It is useless to complain to the receptionist about a faulty shower or a burned out light bulb. If he promised you to send someone immediately, no one will come, even after repeated appeal. It is better to catch a person in a blue blouse with the inscription "Maintenance" on the territory and bring him to the room;
Own, more than a compact beach, reminiscent of a rookery of seals, where in a strange way everyone can fit. It could have been larger if its main part had not been cut off for a bar and tables for afternoon snacks.
The mentioned beach and the areas adjacent to it on both sides are the main location of numerous barkers who do not allow the passage of tourists peacefully wandering along the coast. We are talking about a shop located right behind the Whala beach or a gallery of Pirates shops, located 300 meters further along the coast. Barkers stop terrorizing you after two days, but their constant fluctuation around you, admiring the seascape, is annoying;
The complete absence on the beach of the swimming props promised in the description of the hotel (kayaks, boards, etc. );
For those who decide to swim beyond the buoys, there is a risk of falling under motor boats, in which blacks in T-shirts with the inscription “Sea pro” constantly run along the coast from the neighboring Barcelo hotel to some remote places, carrying tourists. The aforementioned blacks wave their hands fiercely at you, urging you to return, as if you had invaded foreign waters.
And finally, the last one. The unique feature of the Whala! hotel, its main feature, is that you will wash and take a shower with... salted water. I have not seen this in any hotel on the sea coast - even in two-star hotels in Bulgaria. This, of course, is not a tragedy, but since salt water clogs pores, the appearance of acne in a couple of days is almost guaranteed.
