My name is Albert Ivanovich Semin, Belev, Tula region. Visited this hotel from 08.05. 2018 to 16.05. 2018. I bought a ticket from ANEX Tour for 47000.00 at first I was going to Turkey, but for that kind of money I went to the Dominican Republic and did not regret it at all. I have never been to Turkey, but I think I made the right decision, I’ll still have time to fly here somehow. Yes, because of our pilot, it’s kind of zapad to go there. But God bless her, we are in the Dominican Republic.
Rest in the hotel took place under the slogan "Zhenya, well, who does not know him" the fame of our tourist swept throughout Juan Dolio and its environs. This man didn’t do anything special, he didn’t harm anyone (except himself), he just landed unsuccessfully in a glass and didn’t get out of there until boarding the plane to return to his homeland. Without offense, a cheerful guy who got to know the whole hotel, regardless of nationality.
With the help of a liquid translator, he had no language barrier. In general, a sincere person, he could support any conversation, for which they tried to avoid him on the second day of their acquaintance. But I repeat that he did not harm anyone, the man went into a tailspin, and the hotel workers and the representative of the travel agency were afraid for his health so that trouble would not happen to him, they were busy with him. Well, God bless him, we are in the Dominican Republic.
We flew into the country without incident, only once shook in the air hole and that's it. True, in Domodedovo they offered for 4800.00 a place near the emergency exit, I wanted to buy it, but how God took it or my greed. Divorce is for money places such 10pcs. and tickets
they sold at least 20 and a leapfrog began who should sit in these places; they called the landing chief, he suggested that those who did not get seats not to offend him, otherwise they would be removed from the plane, although no one even raised his voice.
The flight took place in a calm and friendly atmosphere, only the incontinence of the passengers broke the silence of the flight. The stewards worked tirelessly because with us on the plane, as on all flights, there is a category of citizens who, instead of their personal planes, boarded a common carriage, and only they need increased attention from the aircraft workers. They will stand in the aisle like a flock of sheep, do not pass, do not pass. They interfered with delivering food and drinks and whined all the way that it was bad for them to stretch their legs nowhere. When children and women whine, you can understand, but when men really call them men, the language does not turn. Children and women steadfastly endured the flight, but the “muzhiks” were flimsy, of course there were not many of them, but they were. Well, God bless them, we are in the Dominican Republic.
We landed at the airport, went through customs, distributed on buses and went to the hotel. Customs takes 10d. US for a visa. At the airport you can change money for at least 100 bucks.
Exit through the local Dutik, so if someone forgot to buy something or drank on the plane, there is something to see. The airport itself is made in the form of a large hut and covered with palm branches, an interesting building. I want to immediately note the pleasant faces of the local Vereshchagins, among them there are women, very pleasant-looking. We were not kept there for a long time, we went quickly and left.
The road to the hotel took about 2 hours, we were driven through an area not similar to the tropics, which was very upsetting, some bushes and ruins of Uncle Tom's huts saw the first palm tree when we drove up to Boca Chica. No view along the way. The bus guide explained that check-in at hotels from 15-00 local time and no persuasion and gifts will help, and it happened to the hotel, I arrived at 13.00, handed over my things to the storage room, registered at the hotel, put on a bracelet.
I gave the girl at the reception a chocolate bar that I bought at home in advance, you only need to take ours like “Alenka”, others in their stores are sold cheaper than in ours.
After the reception, I went to the dining room to refresh myself with the remnants of lunch, except for us who arrived in the dining room, there were no other vacationers. There were so many leftovers from lunch that after a while, even the fruits didn’t fit into me anymore. During lunch, we who arrived met and went to inspect the local beach, many like me, breathing a little from the rich food. These were the last minutes of the code Eugene was sober because we went to the bar. I can’t say anything about the quality of local alcoholic drinks, I didn’t drink it, but I smelled it most of all by smell, I liked the local tequila and mamajuana. The smell of beer is similar to ours, but something is wrong if you drink it would say. Locals drink it with tomato juice, and ladies with sprite. But the type of fresh juices are delicious but very sweet diluted with water.
Fanta Sprite Cola is better than ours. Waited for 15-00 went to get the keys to the room. I got #1346
in the main building a corner overlooking the pool with a bar and a little on the beach. Normally, in general, palm trees were closed from direct sunlight, which then helped a lot, the room did not heat up and I almost did not turn on the air conditioner. The room has a TV, iron and ironing board in the bathroom hair dryer. I didn’t find a refrigerator in the room, I was very upset, but it’s not needed for 24 hours, and there’s no reason to carry drinks and food into the room. If you want to drink, go to a bar and drink as much cold as you want, if you want coffee, go to a cafe, drink as much as you like. The food is very decent, I liked the seafood a little because the locals believe that this is food for the poor, the presence of meat on the table is a sign of prosperity in the family. Then I was in 2 local supermarkets, so there you can say there is no fish department; the counter with seafood takes 1 * 2 meters and that's it.
Who for seafood is not here, for a fee, where it is. On the excursion we were fed with lobsters, but when they butchered, they damaged the intestines in the shell and it was bitter, either they don’t know how to cook them, or they don’t want to bother. It is not necessary to cook cancer of a great mind. But it wasn't at the hotel. The food in the hotel is very good. As soon as you sit down at the table, the waiter comes up and pours cold water into a glass. I took a pile of hot lamb for dinner and a sweet girl with a dazzling smile pours me cold water at first I thought that she wanted to annoy me so much, it turned out no, they just don’t know such a joke. You can bring drinks in the dining room yourself or call the waiter to tell him what you want and he or she will bring it. I did not see any discrimination that I was treated worse than other tourists from other countries.
Learn languages and there will be no communication problems and smile at people if you can’t say what you want, this will smooth out your awkwardness. The local population is very friendly cheerful after Egypt, just Smolny before the revolution. In shops on the street, people let each other go forward and smile at each other. Friendly. No one grabs you by the hand to the store, doesn’t drag you, doesn’t yell, inviting you to your shop. Let's go back to the dining room. The food is decent for every taste, fish is less than meat, my version of why, I said. I ate mostly steaks of various meats, fish and some greens for garnishing potatoes. I tried a fried banana, an interesting taste paid little attention to rice, but in vain it’s very tasty, we most likely don’t have so many varieties of it, try it. I just tried it on the last day and realized what I had lost. I didn’t like cucumber tomatoes, I almost didn’t eat them.
Whoever buys in their store in the winter is fine, I only eat them in the summer and mostly my own. Breakfasts are very interesting for all countries. For breakfast, you can not even look at the bracelet to say who is from where. Their sausage is very edible, the main place is occupied by ham and boiled types of sausages. Also in the store I wanted to buy a type of dry-cured home, they don’t have this. Smoked and then not found found only cherizo. But ham, boiled sausage, sausages, sausages are present and delicious. For lunch, soups are a must. I ate one puree soup of another type of vegetable soup with meat every day, I can’t live without the first one. In the evening, a dish from the chef is something big baked on the grill and the main positions. If you go to a la carte, do not eat before visiting, otherwise it will happen like ours. They overate if they crawled later. Been to all the restaurants several times. Tried almost the entire menu. In Mexican, very soft chairs are the best for convenience.
When you are served dishes there, be careful of the frying pans in which they bring red-hot ones. The waiters warn in English Spanish but not everyone listens. A guy from our group straightened the frying pan with his bare hand and got burned badly. The portions are large and there is a buffet with salads and appetizers. I ordered something that I had not tried or an interesting name. I don’t eat pasta in a naval way out of principle, it’s worth flying to distant lands, coming to a restaurant by appointment and ordering pasta. And then, with the smart physiognomy of a real restaurateur, there is a doshirak, and no one used a spoon when they ate pasta. As for desserts, Egypt will be richer. For me, chocolate desserts are not enough, although I did not take more than 2 pieces to restrain myself, there is something to take sweet.
Fruits are a separate song bananas are delicious I tried I don’t like them, melon watermelons once in a while are sweet or tasteless like out of season, there was another fruit that seems like papaya bit off twice about nothing, oranges are juicy but I don’t like them. Passion fruit ate very tasty the first time I liked it, the mango is especially yellow and the pineapple is the most delicious for me, before that I didn’t try pineapple, I ate some kind of herb with pineapple flavor. It was a constant dish in my diet in the morning, afternoon and evening. They put it on a plate, took it with them to the beach, no one cursed. It’s worth flying there just because of the mango pineapples, though now I won’t buy these fruits in our store. They sell pineapples by the piece, not by weight. 1.1 pineapple 2.5 kg without a mango tail is also more expensive in the store. , on the beach 2 times more expensive if the product fits the price will be dropped. I also liked the coconut, but not milk, the pulp is fresh and tasty. There is no tea in my understanding...
in bags, but coffee is just a song. Stands in the dining room coffee machine varieties 20 all tasted caramel cappuccino very tasty. There is just black coffee, you can add milk cream. Who loves coffee will have something to warm up. You can drink it at night in a cafe on the beach. For dinner, you can take ice cream as much as you want with different powders, very tasty ice cream, in my opinion, is ice cream from milk, and if you add another cup of coffee, then it’s just a fairy tale. It's better to have dinner on the veranda after a la carte you go to the dining room, take ice cream with coffee and sit on the veranda with friends or even better with the ladies BEAUTY.
The hotel guide is the most beautiful Madame Vasilina Vasilievna. A very competent worker full of information that is needed without unnecessary rassusolivanie. Pleasant in communication, good memory for faces and names. He doesn’t impose excursions, he just tells them if you want to take them, if you don’t want to take them. DOES NOT IMPOSE DO NOT SCARING that they will not go outside the gate and kill you.
One of our compatriots with a friend who found a star behaved like cattle. They warned that not to pull her out of the water, she would die at that jump into her head. Wherever she just didn’t hook this cattle and the guide tells her and the team, like against a wall, then, out of anger, threw her into the sea. Our Zhenya is an angel compared to this couple. They got drunk on the island like cattle and all the way back they sorted things out well that not from our hotel. But God is with them, we are in the Dominican Republic.
Other tourists took excursions to the waterfalls, they arrived very pleased but very tired. Two ladies from our group went to the disco KOKO Bango impressions full of pants said that this is more a show performance than even a disco. They hung out with all their hearts. We arrived at the hotel at 5 am for dinner and left not quite alive. They say that upon arrival
poured at the disco immediately almost by force, and so the whole evening. One lady of the two who almost did not drink was harder for her.
It’s good that I didn’t get there, but if I’m in the Dominican Republic again, I’ll definitely go to hell, take off 70 tanks. If you want to save money on excursions, then exit the main building, turn to the right, go past the exchange office of the closed casino literally 50-100 meters and on the left side there are shops of a travel agency cafe. There is something to see from souvenirs and other necessary things. Take your time with shopping for the house, go look, remember, analyze at the hotel what you need and buy. Excursions there are exactly two times cheaper except for the helicopter and Coco bango. Three excursions to the island, to the capital and to the waterfalls for 110 bucks. The same Russian guides on excursions, we all met with ours who saved money, the difference on arrival was at most 1 hour due to different departure times. You can buy from local operators, our countrywomen work there if they tell you something, but do not forget that they are sellers and they need to earn money.
Everything is the same as in Egypt outside the gates, the same excursions are only 2 times cheaper, no worse than those of the officials.
I talked with people who took tours of the Airborne Forces safari, maybe it’s interesting for someone to ride a UAZ 200 km through the bushes and heat over potholes and off-road, I live in the countryside, we have it for free every day, just make sure that the car does not fall apart in the pits. For people living in big cities, this is an extreme adrenaline rush, but for me, everyday life is more pleasant for me to ride on asphalt, and they have such a wonderful one there, a thick layer laid right next to the hotel is enviable. We learned from the locals how to go to San Pedro. You pass by a taxi on the road, there was a bus stop on it, hotel workers who worked their shift, drove home, asked them about the supermarket, they suggested where to get off.
Ride 15 -20 minutes on the bus gathered the same hard workers as sat down with us from other hotels, many greeted each other. Everyone smiles, communicates, moves to give way, I got the impression that you are going with your fellow students for potatoes or with guests to a village wedding where almost all relatives, a very friendly attitude, it’s a pity you just don’t understand what they say. Dressed all clean do not yell at the whole bus. The driver does not recklessly like our khachiks on minibuses. On the bus, the conductor hangs on the front door at bus stops and asks to invite customers. The fare is 35 pesos per person. It is better to pay with local money, as change is not given to foreigners as a tip. It's more profitable to ride 3rd. You give 2 dollars. it turns out
96 pesos instead of 105 surcharges were not asked for. And let's go 2nd gave 2 tanks-96 pesos, but you need 70 change changed.
Out of principle, in a cultural form, with a smile “you won’t give it back, I’ll kill you, ” I asked for change without an interpreter, I realized that there were no small coins and my eyes were running around. I asked him in English where my money was and, miraculously, coins were found, but he gave them to me with the appearance that I had taken the last money from him. We arrived at the local supermarket "Zaglull" we called it a spree. The store familiar to us with a fixed price with sales has everything. Prices are not much different for imported goods like ours. You multiply the price tag by 1.25 and you get the amount in rubles. You can pay by the fact that you have a card, pesos, dollars. I paid everywhere with a card very conveniently, the bank did not charge me any commission on the check, it knocked out 3 amounts in rubles, dollars and pesos. I could be wrong, but they didn't take VAT on the card. Around the "spree" there are many shops; Near the agricultural market. Prices from the manufacturer freebie.
It is better to buy fruits in a large pavilion. On the map, it's a shopping mall, but that's a big name for this place. A large Soviet vegetable store like warehouse hangar. In the 90s, I was the director of the market for such a garbage dump, the SES would have milked me every day. Trade from the ground. But fruits of excellent quality do not forget to wash them. I also bought some fruits there in the form of pods and the grains in them are kiwi, not kiwi, gooseberries, but a cool thing I don’t know what it’s called correctly. As for clothes and other industrial products, then everything is Chinese, why bring it from there if everything can be bought from us. Apart from rum, fruit cigars and Mama Juana did not buy anything. As for Mama Juana, he took dry bags for making tinctures at home in bags. They asked for 5 tanks for a package, agreed for 4 b. for 2 packages at home I regretted that I took little. An old woman sells these mixtures at the covered market near the zagul. The price is 10 tanks a bottle.
They sell for locals only in bottles so that you can see what is there and how, and this mixture is very different from the one I bought. I wanted to warn you right away that mamahuana is not only a tincture for drinking, but also a cure for various ailments, so it’s better not to take this thing without someone who knows. What mixture they mixed there and why is unknown. Witches are bad jokes. The store sells the best option for tourists SAFE. I also wanted to buy spices and cinnamon at the market, but the sellers got caught by the rednecks, they didn’t give up a penny, and I can’t help but bargain. Didn't agree on the price. There are a lot of shops with religious incense for lamps, scented candles and some other things. Didn't get close. A very large amount of rice of different varieties, potatoes are still some kind of vegetable, probably sweet potato. In general, a lot of interesting things to see
and what to buy there decide for yourself.
I didn’t eat in local cafes for 2 reasons, the hotel is full of food and why spend money, well, I didn’t dare to try the local catering. On the beach only tried oysters and fruits. Well, God bless them, we are in the Dominican Republic.
As for the animation in the hotel on the beach, they are constantly inviting you to play some kind of games once, not mine, but people like to play. I don’t need animation, music plays, no one bothers me, I communicate with whom I am pleased, I sunbathe. After dinner, we fell asleep several times on the beach, nothing was stolen, no one bothered. Grace. In the evening they try to arrange some kind of themed evenings, but not in Russian, though, who understands laughs. Cartoons for children were shown, films, shows in Spanish. Every evening there is a disco, but if there is no suitable company, then you will not dance.
One evening it was raining and an evening dance show was held in the dance field, the dancer girls lit up the whole hotel wonderfully, then they danced with the local chicks, even the athletes joined in. At that time, athletes from the countries of South and North America lived in hotels. Olympiad between universities in weightlifting. Cheerful guys and girls played billiards with them and communicated through Google translator. Had a good time. As in any cafe in Russia, there are a lot of people, most of them do not speak Russian. I didn't have any conflicts with anyone. Small athletes born in 1997
Latinos, after the end of the competition, drank a mug of beer in farewell, it was a joke they were carried away like ours on the 3rd liter and the show-offs went to the whole district, hugs of the handshake began, “Bro, you respect me, dude, you are cool, yes, we are the coolest in general” in Spanish translate no need to show off the international language, they tried to pretend to be macho and chicks sent them away, but because they are athletes and most likely low-drinkers, not prepared for such a life, their battery ran out quickly, they became shy (they crawled along the wall to the elevator). And the Argentines and I continued to play billiards. I spent all the evenings in a sports bar next to dancing, if I had a drink it would be even more fun. The company we got was excellent and had fun in the evenings. I wasn't bored. I drank sprite with lime and diluted it with juice. The bartender remembers well who drinks what and when you come up you can no longer say what you need, he pours it. Well done.
I also want to tell you about the room, everything in the room suited me. Clean, I like to walk barefoot, nothing stuck to my feet. Cleaned every day towels changed as needed. Throw a clean, fresh towel on the floor in the morning. The bed linen was changed with a towel and the bed linen is decent. No one steals anything, the maid gave a chocolate bar and 1 dollar. for all the time. The floors were washed, the linen was changed, the shampoos were added, the soap was not intrusively added, the tip was not asked, but if you give, they will not refuse. If you hang up do not disturb in the room, no one will come in to knock and will not break on the handle, they will hang a bag of paper and soap, shampoos and that's it. They say that the maids drag everything that lies on the bedside tables and consider it a tip. Lies. They exaggerate so that the safe is paid in the room. I paid for the safe and kept the documents there. If you yourself do not forget your things somewhere on the beach, then no one will steal them from you.
I myself forgot my bag with a tablet, phone, room key and safe and wallet on the beach at night. Stolen. True, I thought that I had left my things in the dining room and went there; they were cleaning there and advised me to contact the reception to the security. I go up and they look at my credit cards. They said that they found them on the beach, I asked where the bag was, they didn’t say. I had a cheap phone without a password to enter, and a tablet with a password and a phone search system was installed on it. I took her phone from my friend, looked where mine was and, accompanied by security guards, went to look for it, but out of luck, the battery on the tablet died. I let the guards go; by the way, they gave me access to no through my phone, because where we were looking for a hotel no, it didn’t work. He approached the one from whom he took the credit cards and specified where he found them in what place. He explained to me that it turned out to be near the place where I was on the beach.
When I quickly found her, they were surprised, they hid their traces and took the flash drive with the SIM card and I was left without a photo. Tried to drag out time and powder my brains. Conclusion: watch your things do not tempt other people. During the day, this would hardly have happened. A lot of people leave things on sunbeds, go to swim in the room, nothing was missing or anyone. People value their work. And here is the night, a deserted beach a bag of money how to pass by. But God will judge us in the Dominican Republic.
Summing up my trip to this hotel, I will say: I recommend this hotel for relaxation, the sea is good, the food is excellent, the service is at the level. If it is not possible to get to another hotel in this country, then I will visit this hotel again. The country itself I also really liked the beautifully friendly people. I met wonderful people and it was very hard to part with them. I had a great rest. Everyone who is shown in the photo is a big hello.
Especially to my friend with his wife (who is wearing a hat) And thanks to Leningrad with an electrician for taking a lot of pictures and sending me. How did Eugene get home? Good health and good luck to everyone because we were in the Dominican Republic!
1) "Colonial" style, in the sense that the hotel was renovated for the last time, apparently, during the colonization by Columbus. Anyway, my number and those numbers that I could see.
Plumbing is old. There was a hair dryer in the bathroom, but there was nowhere to turn it on. The next day it was connected to the lighting, but the light did not turn off after that : -))! Well, God be with him.
Hot water. My room was on the 6th floor. After turning on the shower, hot water came in 10 minutes. Really. Therefore, basically took a cold shower (too lazy to wait). But for me it was not critical - the climate is hot there, and cold water is not the same as in Russia from a tap in winter.
Air conditioning - from the 70-80s of the last century. Installed in a hole in the wall: half - in the room, half - on the balcony. Around it, the wall is somehow sewn up with plywood.
Noisy terribly, even at minimum power, but the air cooled normally. I had to leave it on during the day, and turn it off at night - it was impossible to sleep with such noise. In principle, this was not a problem either, since the nights there are not so hot, and there was enough for the night.
But most of all spoiled the impression of the rest of the bugs! At first I did not notice, then I thought the bugs were some kind of random. Only on the last day it dawned on me that these were natural bugs! There was no point in changing the number, we were leaving. The attendant at the counter said "Bull shit! ". I hope this is not a hotel issue. Perhaps someone who lived before me brought it. I guess I'm just unlucky. But for some reason I was not surprised, given the old age of the rooms.
2) What else disappointed me personally was the beach. Yes, very pleasant fine white sand, which does not burn your feet even in the heat. Yes, sun loungers - please, mostly under palm trees, beauty! But you won't be able to swim normally here.
The swimming area is very small, ending with a rope with buoys, probably 25 meters from the shore (or maybe less). Depth - maximum on the chest of an adult. There is still a little space to the reef, but if you swim behind the rope, the whistle of the employee on the beach is immediately heard. I would not call the water crystal clear, there is nothing to see underwater. You can leave the hotel to the right or left, there will be no whistle and rope (as well as sunbeds under palm trees - all beaches are public and open), but otherwise the picture is about the same.
It's good that we are not exactly "beach" vacationers. Free time from trips was spent more in hotel bars and restaurants.
Other than that, there's probably nothing to complain about. Anex Tour worked clearly and responsibly, Azur Air's delays were within reason. The hotel area is large and green, the hotel staff is helpful. Meals - a good buffet, varied.
There are also 3 restaurants where dinner is by appointment (included in the tour), but they somehow did not impress us. Pour without restrictions and around the clock. Billiards (naturally broken-down), disco at night. The animation seemed almost non-existent to me, even though I'm not a fan.
For those who found the strength to read my review to the end, I advise you to be more responsible in choosing a hotel. (We, in fact, rushed to the first one that came up at a price of about 1000 USD for single accommodation for a week in early August 2017). And then the "Dominican paradise" may not seem like that.
We flew to Punta Cana, crossed customs control in 20 minutes. The bus ride to the hotel took about an hour. We were quickly checked into our room and invited to dinner. Unfortunately, we had a not very good number, as it was located near a transformer box, so we changed our ego (we did not pay anything extra).
The service at the hotel is wonderful. Everyone is very friendly, if necessary, they will prompt, direct, help, while they do not require money, as in Turkey or Egypt.
The hotel rooms are old but you can live, since we flew to the sea, the rooms were not of particular interest to us, but if a person is very demanding, then of course he will find something to complain about. I advise you to take a room in the building across the road from the reception, there are very good rooms.
Hairdryer, safe, refrigerator on request.
The room has towels, shampoos, wipes, water.
The dining room has everything and dairy and soups and fish and squid and meat for every taste. Once there was lamb. There were always fruits and ice cream. Very tasty coffee from a coffee machine and fresh in the morning)
In the evenings you have the opportunity to go to the restaurant by appointment. Only three restaurants (Mexican, Dominican, Italian). We liked the Dominican and Italian as there were dishes with very very tasty seafood. All this is included in the ticket price.
The beach, in my opinion, is excellent, as there are always enough sunbeds for everyone, if you want to relax in the sun, if you want under a palm tree. The sea is not stormy thanks to the strip of coral reefs that protects from waves. Before I went, I read reviews that the sea is shallow, you won’t be able to swim everywhere algae. But upon arrival, I realized that my fears were in vain, since the depth of the sea is sufficient for an adult who wants to swim, but not 10 meters deep, but still very comfortable. The water temperature is 29 degrees. The color of the water depends on which direction the sun is shining from. Beach photo lovers need to take photos from 12 to 14 days, because during this period the sun is very strong and bright and all the colors of nature are also very juicy and bright. I didn't leave the water for hours.
Be sure to walk along the beach strip. If you go to the left along the coast, about 15 minutes walk, you will see a gorgeous beach (there is still a restaurant or a house on the water, something like that), there is very beautiful water and palm trees.
Saona is a place worth visiting. Everything is luxurious. The only thing for some reason no one says is that it takes about 1.5-2 hours to get there on a sailing yacht and this is not just a transfer, it is a luxurious journey by sea, which gives no less wonderful sensations than Saona Island itself.
We really liked everything! Unforgettable journey!
Fruits: bananas, pineapples, melon, watermelon, guava, passion fruit, papaya, mango (there was 1 time). The beach is large, there are many sunbeds.
The sea is warm, clean, transparent, almost without waves, there is a breakwater, algae start from about a depth of 1.6 - 1.8 m, there are no stones, sometimes small fish swim by. As a result, we were satisfied with the hotel and the country of rest.
The hotel itself is located in Juan Dolio, a 3-hour drive from Punta Cana International Airport, where Transaero charter flights arrive. In Santo Domingo, which is about 40 minutes from the hotel, only regular Aeroflot flights fly to the airport.
The hotel is not located in the village of Juan Dolio itself, but apart, that is, there is nothing outside the hotel. You go out - the road. They have never been to the village and actually did not seek to. Passage only.
The hotel itself is still presented by the operator as 4 stars, although as we found out in the hotel itself, this has long been a troika, and not a Hilton for a long time. It's noticeable, by the way.
The hotel consists of several buildings, quite modest and in some places simply shabby. The fact that the hotel is old is not particularly striking, but it is obvious. Modest reception and everything is quite ascetic. Compared to Egypt, such a spartan atmosphere is even a little surprising%) The room has everything that is indicated: a coffee maker and an iron, a bathroom with a shower. Fan, air conditioning works, huge balcony. True, we settled on the second attempt, in the first room (on the second floor, which is no coincidence! ) The shower did not work. As a result, we were settled on the 4th floor in the next building in a standard room with huge beds (J), but without a remote control)) The remote control had to be taken to the reception, but since we are not Dominicans, we cannot ask 7 times (it’s completely normal for them - they will definitely do it, but not now - manyana)) - tomorrow), then they lived without it.
More about numbers. I don’t know about the rest, we had an adjacent room - a door from the room led to the next room. Hearing is amazing. On the first night, we thought we would go crazy from the ora behind the wall, then we became more cunning - they came later, when the neighbors already had silence; )
The territory is rather big, very green, very beautiful. It continues outside the hotel, as you leave the reception - there are a tennis court, a golf course, a casino.
Two pools, small, shallow. Diving is completely impossible, and, as a rule, those 10 sun loungers that are near the pool are always occupied.
On the sea - raaaay. Palm trees instead of beach umbrellas! You lie like that, bask in the burning sun and fresh breeze and just relax. The sea is amazing. The beach from the sea is "covered" by an artificial structure - a stone embankment. That is, there were never big waves. It never rained! Temperature - every day +30. And we flew in the last week of January 2011. The Caribbean is a paradise : )
Since the hotel is located apart, the beach is deserted, you can walk even to the right, even to the left. Nobody around. In the distance, however, some buildings are already beginning : )
There are 3 restaurants on site (or 4%), we were only in the main Amber. The food was good, but that's all. I can't say that it's very good. There was everything from meat, fruits, vegetables, ice cream, table wine for dinner. Delicious, nothing to do with the same Egyptian wine. Moreover, the waiters themselves bring drinks, you don’t need to run around looking for them. What is relaxing. . .
Animation is awesome. During the day, everything was on the beach that was supposed to be: aerobics, gymnastics, dancing, competitions... And in the evening a miracle began . . How great they dance! The animation team itself is a dance group. They danced on stage almost every night and it was just mesmerizing!
The hotel has a disco where modern music sounds along with merengue and bachata. Disco until three in the morning, all drinks included. By the way, the hotel includes local alcoholic drinks and international cocktails - for fans there are plenty to choose from : )
In summary, I give the hotel a solid four. The hotel is really worth the money. I could recommend it to lovers of a relaxing holiday, or those who want to take a break from their compatriots ; -P There are actually few Russian tourists in this hotel. And in Russian, by the way, no one speaks in the hotel... And even those who go to the Dominican Republic, like us, for the first time, will not regret it! The Caribbean Sea, stunning blue skies and the very atmosphere of paradise - it's worth it!
