Oktoberfest 2012, Munich.

So…. . Here I am at home. What am I thinking about now....Naturally, Oktoberfest. He will be remembered as a bright flash in gray everyday life. So many emotions, so many impressions, I don’t know how to formulate correctly, in order and in an interesting way, to convey all that joyful, cheerful, enchanting and crazy that was a whole week ago and lasted only two days for me and my friends. Now I can speak on an equal footing only with those who have been to Munich and know what Oktoberfest is. Others just can't understand me. I WAS AT OKTOBERFEST!! ! I say with pride.

I’ll start right away with the fact that I’m very sorry that I didn’t get to Oktoberfest 10-15 years ago. I think at 20 I would have had even more emotions!

How it all began. A year ago, I read someone's review about Oktoberfest 2011, unfortunately I don't remember who that great person was, but when I read his sketches, I realized - I want, I want, I want to go there!!! ! I knew right away that it would be something wonderful. Having organized a company of three people, we began to prepare.

We booked air tickets and a hotel in advance (in January). We worked out the routes (later we went to several more cities in Europe, but, I will make a reservation right away - they were superfluous and simply faded after Munich and Oktoberfest). And they began to wait in anticipation of the event.

The time has come and the day of X has come. We took off right on opening day 22 September 2012 with the earliest flight at 6am by Lufgas. We got to the hotel, threw our bags and went to buy a German national costume for Oktoberfest. At the railway station, to the left of the main entrance, shops have been working since 8 in the morning. I strongly advise you to buy this suit, because. it gives even more joy, fun, charm to Oktoberfest. Half the city, if not more, walks in costumes. And the coolest thing is to dress in it in Moscow and fly like that in an airplane.

Then we went to watch the parade. The parade even more celebrated the atmosphere of the holiday. After we decided to take a walk in the meadow. But they immediately understood - to take a walk, which means - to squeeze through, try not to get lost. We were calm about our future, because. back in Moscow, they became happy owners of tickets to tents for Saturday and Sunday. I will say right away - if you are going to the opening, without reserved seats you simply will not get anywhere. It will be a complete disappointment, because all the fun and drive is only inside the tent. It doesn't matter if the tent is small, medium or large. If you are inside, it is a guarantee that you will have a great time. If you do not have tickets, consider that you have not been to Oktoberfest. Therefore, do not skimp, and even if it is not very cheap, buy.

So, we had tickets to the heinz huehner braterei tent, in the Huner people (accommodates 360 people, is considered small), we had from 14 to 16. And we ended up in the meadow at 12. And it started to rain on our “happiness”. And there is nowhere to go in the meadow. In general, we were wet until 14.00. But when they finally got inside, then it all started. The neighbors at the table turned out to be very cheerful and the beer flowed like water. The orchestra played German folk melodies, it was warm. They brought delicious food. Sometimes between beer we even drank schnabs. What else do you need to be happy! The atmosphere was great - cozy, positive, boozy, friendly, etc. etc. In general, we drank in 4 hours (we managed to stay at our table for another two extra hours) from 3 to 5 liters per person. And this despite the fact that at home a liter is drunk with great effort. We sat in the warmth, enjoyed life, and those who hoped to pass without a ticket and could not look into the sad windows...

Then we all rallied company went to ride the rides, hoping to sober up a little. Our hopes were not justified and at eight o'clock we decided that it was time for us to check into the hotel, because. We threw our bags away, but we didn't have the keys. We drove from the meadow to the hotel by renting a group of bicycle rickshaws, which inspired us even more. We drove along the road, among ordinary cars, which were literally 10-15 centimeters away from us. BUT then we were not afraid of anything. Upon checking into the hotel, we realized that our ranks had thinned out, and some were out of order, because. they were completely “unexpectedly” covered by a wave and carried away to the gardens of Morpheus. The most persistent went to the nearest restaurant, and having regained strength with another Maas, went to Hofbrä uhais. There we just sat, chatted, ate roulette, drank beer again and decided to go to rest, because. on Sunday evening we were planning to have a tent by Hofbrä u.

In the morning we calmly got up, had breakfast and went for a walk around the city. Our head, surprisingly, did not hurt at all, which we were glad about. We really liked the city of Munich, but, as we later realized, mainly due to the fact that we had a very successful Oktoberfest.

By five we were like bayonets at Hofbrä u. This tent is huge. Hofbrä u accommodates 7.000 people. It's just unbelievable. So many people having fun at the same time. In our experience, I can say that the most fun is downstairs, where we just happened to be. The balconies are much more boring. And again we were lucky with the company. Probably, those who go to Oktoberfest cannot be boring. There were both Russians and Americans at the table. But that didn't bother anyone at all. And by the end of the evening, we were all delighted with our drinking buddies and believed in world peace.

Of course, the atmosphere in a large tent is different from a small one. You need to visit both there and there, and even better in all the tents. If in the small one there was comfort, warmth, even some intimacy, then in the big one it was mass character, power, strength. Fun everywhere.

I have read before that in Hofbrä u they dance on the tables. But, I thought, I won't get drunk to that extent. What is there…. After an hour in the tent, I was the only one sitting at the table. Without thinking twice, I had to join. The scheme is this - you stand on the bench with both feet and dance and sing, sing along to the songs that the group sings. And so the whole room from small to large. You can rest your other foot on the edge of the table for support. Until now, in my head there are lines from the well-known songs that we bawled there.

In general, Oktoberfest is a big booze, what can I say....But what a!! ! The main thing at the holiday is the atmosphere!! ! I advise everyone who has not been there and does not understand my enthusiasm to visit at least once. The main condition is to love beer and have tickets to the tent (especially for the opening, on Friday, Saturday). And of course, that there would be a reliable comrade nearby who would not leave a friend who went overboard.

I don’t have any unpleasant memories - some write about dirt, about drunks who are lying around. Neither one nor the other caught my eye. What, I'm actually glad. I did not describe in detail how much the room, taxi, beer, etc. cost. because first of all I wanted to tell not about the details, but about the general atmosphere.

And you know what decision we unanimously made on returning home - that we will go to Oktoberfest next year.
