I book hotels mainly on booking, so this time I went to the site, looked, there was nothing suitable. And you need the following:
- hotel in the center or as close to it as possible
- own parking
- suitable price
- not bad reviews
From time to time, booking sends offers with discounts, sent this time, and in Dresden, too, for this hotel at 62.00 euros / day / room. I looked, liked it, found the hotel website, called, asked how much it costs. Answer: 101.00 euros/night/room. Thanks, I'll think about it. Again on booking, ordered, the rate is non-refundable, but nothing seemed to interfere with the trip. I called the hotel back, said that I had booked it on booking, because the price there is “more pleasant”. Okay, they say wait.
A week before the arrival, the hotel sent a letter explaining how and where to drive up, because the hotel is almost on a square that you can’t drive on, but when we were there, cars sometimes drove through it ...
1. Location and parking
So, we've arrived. Is the entrance to the hotel from Landhausstra? e, until the sign that further passage is prohibited. The receptionist is on the right in the Souvenirshop shop, she came in, introduced herself, completed all the formalities, the receptionist, at that time was a young guy, came out with me to take us to our parking lot. Underground parking is located right there, on the left, in front of the hotel. I ordered parking along with the room, so the hotel gave me a control panel (in the form of a round washer with a button) for a barrier, they pressed the button - the barrier rose. The guy walked in front, we slowly followed him. Showed us our place and goodbye. There is enough space for a car, there are parking lots and narrower and shorter. There is also an elevator nearby, a few steps away, they took things from the car, entered the elevator, and reached our floor. Everything is extremely simple and convenient.
2. Numbers
We had booked a studio room, 40 m?
, very spacious, the ceilings are high, under 3 meters, there is no feeling that something is pressing on your head, as sometimes happens. There are 2 large batteries in the room, we only turned them on the last 2 days, due to the fact that it got colder, they heat normally, even by 3. (The maximum you could turn on was 5 or 6) We didn’t turn on the TV and any players - there was no time. And there is a coffee table with a small sofa, and a round table with chairs, just enough ...sockets all around and even in the corridor.
Not big, but equipped kitchen with almost everything you need (no frying pans and a teapot for tea). I needed a kettle, and since we almost don’t drink coffee, we brewed tea in a coffee maker. There is also a table and chairs in the kitchen.
The bathroom is also large, washing machine, not a big dryer. All detergents in containers are screwed to the wall.
3. Service
Officially, check-in at the hotel is at 15:00, but it so happened that we arrived at the beginning of the second.
By the way, when the hotel sent us a letter, it also asked the approximate time of our arrival. I then told them that after about 13:00. Well, that's when we arrived. The room was already ready and we checked in without any problems.
Of the entire staff, they saw and communicated only with those who work for the reception. Everyone was friendly, smiling and willing to answer any questions. On the day of our departure, we asked to leave the car in the parking lot until 2 o'clock in the afternoon, we were met.
4. Nutrition
We didn't order anything. It was possible to order breakfasts for 12.00 euros / person / day, for two it is 24.00, for those who, like us, eat almost nothing in the morning, this is wasted money. It is better to invest them in lunches.
They don’t have their own restaurant, but there is somewhere nearby, to be honest, I didn’t go into details, because I didn’t need it. But when you check in, they explain everything, offer, give some brochures with discounts to a certain restaurant, like hotel guests.
We wanted to go there and see what and how, but we never got there.
And one more interesting moment, since we did not have enough time, we had to book one more night. I open the same booking, the price for our room is already 69.00 euros, I go to the reception, I ask if it is possible to order another day and how much it costs, the same answer: 101.00 euros. I go up to the room again, order on booking for 69.00, go to the reception again, I say, I ordered cheaper and can we stay in the same room? They smile, okay, they say, stay in the same room.
Usually the difference in the price of a hotel with a booking is 5-10 euros, in my practice it has happened, but it didn’t happen that much.
We were very pleased with the hotel, especially its location. Perfect for a short stay of 5-7 nights.
