Lake Constance, part 2.
Going on this trip, we mainly wanted to just relax and unwind on the lake. But after looking at the weather forecast, it became clear that it would not work to be “lazy” all the time, because they promised rain and cloudy days too. All the sunny days we only sunbathed, and in the rain we went to the sights.
It should be noted a very beautiful tan, some kind of dark red-brownish-golden, I really liked it, it doesn’t look like either the South Sea or the Volga-steppe ...But I didn’t dare to swim, the water is +17, +18 - this is just icy for me ...and the children, and many adults splashed with might and main. There are quite a few places for swimming, it was not bad in Hagnau am Bodensee. The road passes not far from the lake, there is also a campsite and free parking spaces. Then go down a little, there is a large square right by the lake, equipped with everything you need: a cafe-changing rooms-toilets-showers...
and large trees, which is no less important when the sun bakes, in the shade under the trees it is very comfortable to read something or just take a nap. The square is very clean, the only ones who do not remove the traces of their stay there are ducks and swans.
Our next place of residence was the Pension Busch apartments in Salem-Grasbeuren, 5-6 km from the lake. There are rooms and apartments for rent. A wonderful place, at first there is a pension itself on the roadway, but we only had breakfast there in the Kneipp, then you go down a little further down - apartments, and a little further - a house in which rooms are rented. We really liked the apartments, there is everything you need, a bedroom and a bathroom on the 2nd floor, it is comfortable to sleep at night, not hot, not cold and very quiet! On the adjacent territory, on a green lawn, there are sun loungers, you can sunbathe and play table tennis ...And around the field ...and the air! Real rustic, fragrant, clean! I recommend, you won't regret it!
In all the hotels where we stayed, a guest card is given, which provides discounts for paid pools, travel tickets, museums, etc.
The next number on our program was the Mini Mundus am Bodensee in Meckenbeuren. It presents many of the most beautiful sights of the world in miniature. We had great fun here! Entrance ticket for adults 10.90 euros. There is a very interesting attraction there: you get into a boat, it goes on rails, on water, and around you to the left and right are various Chinese, Malaysian, Thai temples, crypts, monuments ...palaces, palasts. . in the appropriate style, float. On the territory of the park there is a cinema, a cafe with delicious coffee and biscuits...There are similar parks in Holland, Switzerland, Barcelona, Tenerife, Belgium, Austria...you should definitely visit. Next to this park there is a large amusement park for children.
We didn't manage to visit many places due to lack of time, for example, to see Salem Castle, visit the Aquarium in Konstanz, take the cable car up Mount Sä ntis...and many other things...
Immenstaad am Bodensee, Ü berlingen did not seem particularly interesting to us, we liked Meersburg much more. It is located on a mountain, from the observation decks there are beautiful views of the lake. The embankment is respectively below, and go down to it along rather steep streets ...and then go up along them, oh-oh! It is worth seeing the Old Castle there, which rises above Lake Constance. Admission is 8.50 for adults. We didn’t make it to the New Castle, because a boat trip on the lake was planned. Castles are next to each other. I really wanted to visit the pools with natural mineral water there, this complex also has beaches, because all this is located on the very shore, but the complex was closed for 2 weeks, either due to repairs, or something else ...
We limited ourselves to a 3-hour boat trip in the evening, this pleasure costs 6.20 per person.
On the last day, we didn’t calculate the time a little, we were late, I had to urgently look for a hotel for an overnight stay, Hotel Bayerischer Hof-Rehlings in Wieß ensberg, worse than this “place to spend the night in 3 *”, I have not seen in any country. I do not recommend! 1 night...
The town of Friedrichshafen also deserves attention. Quite a beautiful and long promenade with many cozy cafes, the Zeppelin Museum, a tower on the pier, which is quite easy to climb. It offers a view of the city, a large part of the lake and the opposite Swiss shore.
Well, at the end of the trip, I can say one thing, if you want to return to Lake Garda again, then to Lake Constance - somehow not. It’s not that we didn’t like it there, just once is absolutely enough to get to know each other.
Happy travels to all!
