For a 3 star hotel, excellent. Almost everyone speaks Russian. Very friendly staff. They will always tell you where is cheaper, better. where to go, how to get there. They will give you a map for free)) and draw a route on it. Cleaned up every day. gels, soaps, towels every day. We only took breakfast - average - for this and not 10 points, but 8.

Although there were always sausages, bacon, hot, and always cold, ham, sausage. Several varieties of cereals. A couple of salads. We weren't hungry. But I consider food modest. There is a terrace with tables and chairs and umbrellas where you can sit and smoke. to drink coffee. We took a camping kettle with us and cups and coffee and tea))) but if you don’t have it, you can buy it at the reception for 30 crowns at any time. There are only 2 glasses in the rooms. There is no hair dryer. take it too)) if you want more comfort, take more stars. Everything worked out for my daughter and I. On removal from the center - 20 minutes to the museum or the powder tower - from there all excursions. 15 minutes to the metro of florence - there is a hypermarket albert - you can buy food for dinner in order to save money. Lots of bars and mini markets around. Wifi is excellent. takes everywhere!
I think this hotel is fully consistent with the price-quality)))

We were in Prague three times with Amigo Tours: in spring, summer, and now - in winter. I will try to briefly describe the impressions of the last trip. It cost us not so much for two: 42 thousand rubles for two for a week-long stay in a very good Ostash Hotel (three stars, but in the historical center of Prague), with a flight (not a charter! ), transfer and a walking tour of the city.

It cost us not so much for two: 42 thousand rubles for two for a week-long stay in a very good Ostash Hotel (three stars, but in the historical center of Prague), with a flight (not a charter! ), transfer and a walking tour of the city.
Plus, for 80 euros (160 - for two) we paid for a package of excursions:
1. Day trip to Vienna;
2. a visit to the Orlik castle, after which there was an excursion to the brewery Velkopopovitsky Kozyol (! ), not so far from the castle, with a beer tasting after a hearty lunch included in the price of the excursion (chicken leg, mashed potatoes with cracklings and sauerkraut salad );
3. walking tour of Prague Castle and Hradcany.
I would like to thank the travel agent Svetlana Medvedeva for her professional work, patient answers, unobtrusive advice and tickets sent in advance - we never had any problems or extra trouble during the entire trip. And the guides from "Amigo" again turned out to be on top! But we are fastidious people, we have heard many, we have something to compare with and something to build on. I would like to say a huge thank you to Vladimir Khudyashov, Irina Belova and Olga Galmanova! They understand the main thing: in addition to dates, names and beautiful legends, a tourist wants a lively conversation about the country, its inhabitants and customs. I can advise you to read at least a guide to the Czech Republic before starting the tour. The more you know, the more questions you ask the guide, the more you will get from the tour. Checked.
Speaking of Prague itself. There are a lot of rave reviews, so I won't repeat myself. Petrin Hill with its observation tower, the protected town of Krumlov - yes, you need to see it. But I will talk about what is mentioned in the reviews less often:
-- The Prague Technical Museum "on the mountain", behind the "pendulum", from which you don't even want to leave (steam locomotives, the first bicycles, an airplane, etc. ) Many halls dedicated to the measurement of time, photography, cinema. From the latter we were politely asked for in the evening, explaining: "shut". A ticket to the museum costs about 150 crowns.
-- black light theaters (BLACK LIGHT THEATRES), a purely Czech invention based on a simple but very effective technique: artists in black velvet suits against a black curtain manipulate colorful objects, creating the illusion that the objects are moving "by themselves". Of these, the Czechs themselves prefer the IMAGE theater on Parizhskaya Street. Expensive (720 CZK), but you need to see this once!
-- Classical music concerts in historic buildings with excellent acoustics, such as the Municipal House or the Spanish Synagogue. True, this pleasure is not cheap (600-700 crowns).
What else to say? Going to Prague in winter, we were very afraid of a cold hotel room. I don’t know how it is in other hotels, but in Ostash they heated well! And I liked the complete absence of a tobacco smell in the room and on the stairs, with this the hotel is strict, guests smoke on the open veranda. Breakfast is quite good, coffee and cocoa from the coffee machine, Olivier salad, many different types of sausages, delicious scrambled eggs, excellent pastries. If we talk about the staff, they understand Russian there, albeit at a different level, everyone. "Ezdenki" to buy? Please, at the reception they are. How to get from point A to point B? Even if they don’t know, they will find it on the Internet, they will tell you. And the Wi-Fi in the hotel is free, the signal is good.
Pivnitz in Prague 3, where we stayed, is a dime a dozen. We can recommend "Spirit" (200 meters uphill from the hotel) or "U Yaru" (it's next to "Spiritoma"), where they serve a very tasty 18-degree dark beer "porter". Both here and there in the evenings, the local people sit with a mug of beer, which speaks of the quality and low price of the drinks and dishes served.
In general, our first trip to Prague in the cold season was a success. Its advantages: low price and lack of crowds of tourists. Small excursion groups (even with 8 tourists, the tour was not canceled). Opportunity to view the facades of buildings and talk with the guide.
About purchases and discounts. We bought a lot of children's things of good quality, and at a discount, in a store on Wenceslas Square (the giant Palladium store seemed stupid and expensive to us). Because our purchase cost more than 2000 crowns, we also received a discount at the airport. The procedure is rather tedious, requiring time, a specially issued check, and the provision of purchased items. At the same time, we received about 200 crowns on our hands. Yes, and at the airport we bought a glass vase of amazing design. Crystal is expensive, but glass, even the author's work, is real to buy. Especially if you pay with a ruble card, it's profitable! Cards are accepted everywhere.
Finally, I’ll tell you about a pleasant January surprise in Prague - blooming heather! Wow.
Now, if there is an opportunity, we will go to Prague in the fall, I don’t know if I’ll go to Ostash (we love variety, we were in Amadeus and Columbo), but with the same tour operator.

During our trip to Prague we stayed at the Ostash Hotel. We liked it, clean, comfortable, fairly good breakfasts, rooms are cleaned daily. The hotel has Russian-speaking staff, there will be no problems with explanation. The hotel is located near the center, you can walk in 10-15 minutes. We were just walking on excursions, about 20 minutes to the Powder Gate.

Chose in a travel agency from a large number of proposed hotels. The choice fell on this one because of the comfort and location. Never regretted! 1) Prices are more than divine; 2) The location is excellent (quiet area without tourist fuss, but at the same time, 15-20 minutes walk to the Powder Tower! ; 3) The rooms are not new, not chic, but clean and well maintained (daily cleaning, change of towels.

If suddenly someone is going to come and sit only in the room, then this will not work for you! And for all the other tourists in Prague who leave in the morning and return exhausted late in the evening and filled with impressions, this is it. . . We spent the night, had breakfast and got to know Prague again! ; 4) Breakfasts do not have time to get bored, and their quality does not cause any complaints! There are several restaurants nearby, and right opposite there is a good pizzeria (in addition to pizza, delicious pasta), you can take it away, they work until 23:30 (This is if you suddenly get hungry when you return to the hotel) 5) The staff speaks Russian and strives to help in every possible way (they will answer to all questions, give advice, give an iron, hair dryer, kettle); 6) At the reception there is a refrigerator with a good selection of beer and some other alcohol; 7) smart wi-fi catches everywhere

We chose a hotel closer to the center - everything is fine with this - who has young legs - walk to the Powder Tower for about 15 minutes, and who does not want to - there is a bus stop 50 meters away, and after 10 minutes you are either in the center (Republic Square), or the next stop is a large interchange station Florenc - from there you can go to any part of Prague.

We settled promptly (I would like to note separately with nostalgia the refrigerator at the reception with several types of beer, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks at ridiculous prices for Moscow !!! ).
The rooms are small, in the bathroom, of course, it is damp and smells of sewage, but it is tolerable if the door is closed. We had the 21st room with windows into the courtyard-well, and there is a smoking area on the floor above, and there the drunken guests hung out until late, yelled, booze-the hotel management apparently didn’t make any comments to them, so they had to explain at breakfast in the morning in a form that they could understand, "what is good and what is bad. "
Cleaned normally for treshki-linen was changed almost every other day and towels too (left $ 1-2 each). There is one Russian channel on TV: "news 24", maybe there are others, but because the remote control was dead (the buttons were worn out from time to time, you see), clicking, approaching the box every time was broken, and it was not necessary.
We had a late flight and immediately after breakfast they warned us to leave, on the offer to pay extra, they answered that the room had already been sold. : (((In the end, they offered a room on the 5th floor in the attic, and since the old elevator only goes to the 4th, I had to climb a steep spiral staircase with suitcases.
The breakfasts are quite edible, the owner enters the dining room every morning and greets the people, he sometimes does not hesitate to help the staff clear the dishes from the tables.
It would be nice to put at least small refrigerators in the rooms, of course: we talked with tourists from other 3 * hotels - many of them were present in the rooms.
That's it in a nutshell - if you have any questions - ask what I know - I'll tell you.

The hotel is located close to the center - this is its big plus! We always walked, the path to the Powder Gate took 10-15 minutes at a walking pace, no more. Every day the maid came (changed towels, swept, took out the trash). Our room was comfortable. But we practically did not spend time at the hotel: we got up early in the morning, had breakfast and went to the city or on excursions, returned late, only to spend the night.

The staff is friendly, they try to speak Russian with Russians. We were satisfied.

I decided for myself that next time I’ll stay there, it’s close to the center and very easy to get to (we never traveled by transport in 8 days), and the price is acceptable! PS and you wanted a presidential suite for 3 kopecks ? it doesn't happen!
