Our culinary routes in Prague :)
I already wrote my review about beautiful Prague, about a wonderful hotel, about all the pros and cons of excursion routes. In addition, in the answers and reviews of other tourists (as well as in personal correspondence with Lumila), she advised many times which bar, restaurant or pub is worth visiting in Prague. Therefore, the desire to pay special attention to the culinary topic has logically matured.
Maybe other travelers will benefit from my advice. Moreover, it is best to get to know another country not only through history, culture, architecture, but also through culinary traditions. Dear travelers, believe that only by stepping away from the traditional "hackneyed" and "trodden" routes imposed on you by guides, you will be able to know the true Prague. It's not difficult at all. Prague itself is a small and compact city, and the establishments I suggest are located in the center and are easy to find on my tips : ) Well, let's start?
First, I want to offer you a restaurant "At Veyvodu". It became our favorite for beer and pork knee. Believe me, the most delicious boar knee in Prague is cooked here and served correctly - on a spit, below with a plate on which there are 4 types of different sauces: sweet and sour adjika, horseradish and two different types of mustard. The meat just melts in your mouth… I can only drink a draft Velkopopovitsky Black Goat with it (this beer was not so tasty for me anywhere else…). I want to warn you that this restaurant will seem very peculiar to you from the threshold, even unusual (I keep the intrigue! ) It is located in a historically significant, oldest Prague house, and the owners have retained the old interior... but added something and allowed their visitors to add... Therefore, when you go there, it will immediately seem to you that you are in some kind of painted doorway, but do not be afraid! Feel free to come in, from the corridor you will get to the right into a large beer hall on the 1st floor, and then I advise you to climb the twisted wooden stairs to the 2nd floor, there are separate tables on the balcony, in my opinion, they don’t smoke there, and it’s very cozy and comfortable... Of course, you can order other national dishes there (both soup in pots, and svichkova in sour cream sauce, and dumplings, and fish are cooked very tasty there, and salads are different... ), but I repeat, the boar knee is the most delicious there. BUT! I almost forgot the most important thing, when you leave, on the 1st floor, just on the wall (if you find, of course, a place), draw, write something! There is such a geography! . . This is already a tradition, each visitor must leave his impression there, subscribe and indicate the country, city. So don't forget to grab a marker pen! Well, and the last thing: the restaurant is located on the street. Jilska 4, Prague 1, Stare Mesto. It is literally in the courtyards between Wenceslas and Old Town Squares.
