As soon as you go inside, you immediately forget about everything, because it is amazingly cozy there, it smells like homemade cakes (elderly spouses own the hotel, the wife cooks breakfast herself), truly fabulously delicious cupcakes.
The hotel is positioned as a family hotel, all rooms are designed for 4-5 people, equipped with a kitchen.
I want to say that external flaws pale next to the hospitality of this hotel.
Aparthotel in the Prague-8 area. Located a 15-minute quiet walk from the Powder Gate. Didn't expect much. We read some reviews and looked at photos. We decided to agree, given the location.
The area is historical, quiet, residential, there are a lot of cafes and fast foods nearby, close to the Florence metro station, several shopping centers, three supermarkets. Of the attractions - the Church of Cyril and Methodius, Vitkov Hill with a memorial complex and the largest equestrian statue of the hero Jan Zizka in Europe, the oldest and longest Negrelli viaduct in Europe, a view of the TV tower.
We arrived at the hotel around 21:00. We were not seated immediately. We were sent to another 4 * hotel for the night, as there were no places in ours. We were taken and brought by taxi at the expense of Vitkova, after which they presented a bottle of Moravian champagne for the inconvenience caused.
We had a 3 bed room on the 4th floor. Furniture from IKEA, clean and simple. Bathroom - shower, toilet, even a bidet. In the kitchen - a working area (sink, electric stove, refrigerator, necessary utensils), a dining table. Balcony overlooking the courtyard with seating. An old TV with a kinescope (700 channels, several Russian ones).
Now about the features. The lift is for 2 people only. It is difficult and long to climb on foot (spiral staircase, high floors). The mattress on the double bed was sagging, saved by the fact that they fell asleep like the dead after excursions around Prague. Late in the evening it was sometimes possible not to find hot water (when a large group of tourists appeared at the hotel). In the bathroom, it used to be that tobacco smoke was drawn through the hood (although the ventilation coped), plumbing knew better times. There was no soap or hair dryer (hair dryer could be rented), but there was plenty of toilet paper.
Service is ok. Garbage was removed daily, linen and towels per week - once. The staff is attentive, friendly, they speak Russian.
Breakfasts are very good. Oatmeal - crunches, sausage and cheese cuts, butter-jams, bread rolls, several types of pies-rolls every day, tea-coffee-milk-juice. Nutritious and varied.
Conclusion - it can very well be, if you do not expect too much from Czech 3 *.
We went to the Czech Republic in the period from June 11 to June 17.2007 through the tour company Domino Tour (Kyiv). By the way, in this firm they gave me a lot of information about the country, customs, they gave me a map of the city. It was very pleasant to communicate with them. Super!
The tour itself was organized by the company Accord Tour (Lviv). First we went by train to Lviv, then we got on a bus and traveled by bus. Organization of the tour, just super! Next time I will definitely go with the same company somewhere else!!
Our group leader was Former Vitalik. Thank him very much! So much useful information, useful little things, exchange offices that are commission-free (and this is so important in a foreign country), free toilets (which is also not unimportant), always told some stories related to the place where we were going! He was always ready to answer any question, it is felt that he really knows the country - the Czech Republic very well!!!
The tour started from Lviv. On Saturday, at 9-00 we went towards the Czech Republic. The whole day we drove through the territory of Poland. The roads are good, so the ride was easy. True, we got stuck in a traffic jam near Krakow and lost about 2 hours. In the evening we crossed the border of the Czech Republic and at about 23-30 we arrived at the transit hotel in Frydek Mistek (this is near the border). Hotel 3 *, Centrum, wow, so hotely, everything is clean, though the breakfast is disgusting, probably, as it should be in transit hotels... Sandwich and coffee...
In the morning we left in the direction of Prague, with a stop in Kutna Hora. By lunchtime we arrived in Kutna Hora, visited the Ossuary. . . Yes.... the sight is a bit scary. . . The feeling is also strange, after all, these are thousands of people who were not buried. . . brrr
And the town of Kutna Hora, I really liked it! Small, everything is so compact. There we had our first acquaintance with Czech beer.... Yes. . . how it differs from our beer. . . It's delicious!! ! By the way, Czech beer is very high-calorie, much more caloric than ours... This upset me... I gained about 2 kg in a week . . L
In general, we left at 16 o'clock from Kutna Hora, and headed directly to Prague. We arrived around 6 pm. The 4 * hotel, Vitkov, is located in the Prague 3 district. Breakfasts are a buffet, nothing like that, they cleaned our room every day, in general, the feeling is not bad, the only thing that annoyed me was that the trams started to run in the morning, and it was annoying, because like summer, it was hot, the windows were open, and when the trams started to rattle, it was not very pleasing, because it was no longer possible to sleep. . Tram number 9 stops right under the hotel, it takes 17 minutes to go to the center. Considering that transport in Prague runs on schedule and every!! ! 3 minutes !!! , then it really takes 17 minutes to go to the center, no more, no less
In the evening we had an evening walking tour of old Prague. My God, how good she is, especially in the evening! True, Russian speech is heard from all sides, sometimes even obscene... it was somehow not comfortable, like in Europe... abroad after all...
In Prague, according to the program, we had to stay (live) 3 nights, that is, 2.5 days. On one of these days, we had a planned full-day excursion to Karlovy Vary, with a stop at the Krusovice brewery....But it took about 4 hours to go there, we felt sorry for spending 8 hours on the road, and we didn’t go there, we decided stay and walk around Prague more. And we arranged a brewery for ourselves and so... individual !! ! With different types of beer and in different establishments J
On Thursday, at 8-30, we had a departure in the direction of Cesky Krumlov, where we had to spend the night and leave in the morning towards Moravia, to the Moravian beauty. . .
By noon on Thursday, we arrived in Cesky Krumlov. . .
The town is very small, but what a beautiful, medieval city! The streets are small and narrow, everything is so well-groomed and beautiful, I just can’t believe that this happens... Just like a puppet city! There we walked on foot with a guide, walked around the castle, and then we walked with an individual program, with the aim of trying local beer on the last evening of our tour... What kind of beer (black) with honey!! ! I never thought it could be so delicious! And for the first time I tried a lemon version of beer there... and this one with a sprite, it turns out... It was also unexpectedly delicious !! ! Previously, I would have thought that this was an abuse of beer, but now that I tried it, I realized that I was wrong !! ! Black Goat, super beer!!!...
Well, the next day, the last excursion to Moravian Kras awaited us. This is something amazing!! ! Caves, along the underground river by boat, then an unexpected abyss, in the open air, the views are amazing!!!
Well, actually, that’s all, then, after lunch, we began to move towards the Czech-Polish border....but it was already so sad to go, I didn’t want to leave this country... And so I want to go back there again...
