Hotel ratings by criteria:
We flew to Prague from May 15 to May 22.2005 under the Czech Standard program from
"Lanta-tour", the host - Calypso. Hotel - two six-story buildings located
in the Prague-10 area - a sleeping area of the city. Pros: Quiet, quite calm hotel,
clean rooms, good furniture. Our room consisted of an entrance hall, a combined bathroom
(shower), rooms, also had a small balcony. From furniture: in the hallway -
wardrobes for outerwear and shoes, a mirror, in the room itself there are two beds with bedside tables,
a small refrigerator, TV (there was one Russian channel "RTR-Planeta"), telephone.
Cons: A bit far from the city center. Almost all tours start and end
"at the horse" - an equestrian statue of Wenceslas on Wenceslas Square. According to the place of collection and
you need to get back by tram and metro (the journey took about 30 minutes).
Breakfast at the hotel - buffet, somewhat monotonous (ham, cheese, sausages, rolls,

jam, butter, coffee, tea, juice, sometimes a couple of salads), but before lunch there were enough calories.
Transport - in Prague there is a single ticket for all types of transport (metro, tram, bus),
only the validity period of the ticket is limited (quite convenient - for example, when we were driving
from the zoo, we traveled to the hotel by bus, then the metro and tram on one ticket). There is
tickets for 15 minutes, for an hour, for a day, for a week. Approximately we made about 15 trips, so
there was no point in buying a weekly pass for 250 kroons - they used tickets for 12 kroons
(for one hour, in the period from 20-00 to 5-00 one and a half hours are valid). Tickets can be bought at the reception
in the hotel, in stalls, at metro ticket offices, in vending machines at some tram and bus stops
(not at all! ) And at all metro stations. But - at stops, automatic machines, stalls usually work
and cashiers in the metro stop working quite early - at 6-7 pm, so if
there is a trip in the evening, starting from a tram or bus stop - better in advance
buy tickets, if from the metro - have tickets or a sufficient amount of change (the machines work
with coins from 1 to 20 crowns). At the beginning of the trip, the ticket must be punched - punchers
stand at the entrance to the metro station, in the tram and in the bus - in the cabin. Count on the absence
controllers are not worth it - for these 15 trips we met controllers three times, and the fine for ticketless
trip - 400 kroons.
Communication - for MTS subscribers the best operator is Oskar, one and a half dollars for an outgoing call,
1-35 for incoming, 25 cents - sms. You can call from the hotel, but the prices are extortionate - a call to
Russia more than 3 dollars. There are also pay phones, you need to buy a card for them, about
I can't tell you the price from the machine.
Excursion service - we communicated with very pleasant and qualified guides -
Olga and Irina They have a very hard time - their condition before the tour - guide
registers a tourist for an additional excursion, collects money, asks “Olya

(Ira) where to buy cheap crystal? ", to the right - "Ira (Olya) where are the clothes cheaper? ", but they
equally answer all questions. Unfortunately, according to the expression "nature does not tolerate emptiness"
Alexander worked with us as the third guide - he was hired to replace the sick one, I hope Calypso is more
will never hire him. More about him below - but briefly - if this guide (50 years old, bald, speaks with
accent) someday you come across - run away from him to another group, on another bus on a standing
place, if it doesn’t work out - buy a guide (even in Czech) and go on your own - benefits
there will be more.
Money - the Czech crown is a little "heavier" than the ruble, for a euro they give a little less than 30 crowns. Exchange offices
- a complete nightmare, those who tried to turn themselves in for an exchange always received less than it was written
(28 crowns instead of 30). After the first tour, our guide Olga simply took everyone to the exchange office (on the way
passing 4 others), where they gave out as much as it was written on the exchange table (somewhere around 29-50 per euro).
How much money to take - we spent 380 euros for two, of which 150 for two additional excursions (and
we took everything - it was possible to take a couple more). Dined in the city - from 300 to 600 crowns (portions in restaurants -
2-3 times more than ours, a portion of meat - 200 grams instead of our 60-80), for dinner they bought in a supermarket -
fruit, sausage, salads, beer - about 100 kroons. Prices in the supermarket: apples - 10-30 CZK/kg,
tangerines - 17 kroons/kg, salads 8-20 kroons (per 100 gr), sausages - 10-25 kroons (per 100 gr), beer "Kruš evice"
dark (ehhhh) - 9.9 per bottle, but at the exit they will take another 3 crowns per container.
The cost of the tour includes only excursion services (bus, guide) entrance tickets are paid
separately. Ticket from 30 to 150 kroons. An exception is when buying an additional excursion on the spot - in this
case, both service and entrance tickets are bought at once.
More about the tour

Day 1: Lanta's representative was in Domodedovo in three hours, departed on schedule by Boeing Vimavia,
the flight was accompanied by scrambled eggs, pancakes and Carnival Night. Arrived in Pardubice with
time zone difference at 10 am, there is an exchange office in front of passport control, it makes sense to exchange
some money - after the airport there will be excursions to Kutna Hora, where you have to pay for entrance tickets - Ossuary
and the Cathedral of Saint Barbara. Then - transfer to the hotel - ours was the very first.
Day 2: walking tour (we were taken to the starting point of the tour), after the tour we were instructed,
how to use public transport, took me to a good exchange office, issued restaurant cards.
Day 3: walking tour, ended before lunch. After dinner, an additional
excursion to Mhikhovo Gradishte, we went to the zoo - we liked it very much, if you want to visit it is better
plan to visit at least 4 hours.
Day 4: bought an additional excursion to South Moravia, with a visit to Brno, Lednice and Valtice castles
with a tasting of Moravian wines. The excursion was spoiled by the disgusting weather and the guide Alexander.
Upon arrival in Brno, this Susanin led 500 meters from the bus station to the museum on the map, but at the same time everything
he got lost and found out the way with the help of the local population. In the museum, he took out a piece of paper and
with intonations Brezhnev began to read the text. Five minutes later the whole group fled, we
managed to join another group. We were detained at Lednice Castle - the tour began on
30 minutes later, but us Alexander was already working as a clown, working as an interpreter for a local guide -
“on the wall we see a still life with a hunting scene”, in Valtice at a wine tasting he already spoiled nothing
could not - they poured without him, the group returned to Prague in a peaceful mood and singing songs.
The tour is very long - from 8 am to 11 pm.
Day 5: we went to the castle Kř ivoklá t and the brewery in Krushevice, thank God with Irina. Walked in the evening
Visegrad.

Day 6: in the morning we walked around the Old Town, then we were supposed to take a boat trip (with lunch).
Our bald nightmare Alexander was waiting for us on the pier, and our premonitions were not deceived - the ship got stuck
in the gateway, out of two hours of walking, we spent one and a half there. Lunch deserves special attention.
which can be commented on with an anecdote: “Why do you have such cheap beer in a bar? Understand
when you find out the prices for visiting the toilet. A chic buffet with hot and cold notes,
at the entrance - a glass of Becherovka for free, and any drink (tea, water, beer) - for a triple price. glass of beer
0.3, for example - 60 kroons, that is, 90 kroons per half liter, although in the very center of the city, on the "tourist trail" price
no more than 40 crowns. After the ship, we took a walk ourselves, and also went to the restaurant "Pivovarsky Dom" - of all
visited by us most liked.
Day 7: We went to Karlovy Vary for the whole day.
Day 8: transfer to the airport, flight Vimavia, by 17-30 Moscow time we broke through passport control.
