REVIEW ABOUT HOLIDAYS IN KARLOVY VARY
Rest time from December 29.2011 to January 15.2012
We are not the first in Karlovy Vary, this trip is already the fifth one in the last three years. As the locals say, get hooked on Vary! Until now, they lived in ULRIKA on Sadovaya Street, then in DVORAK, then twice in SAVOY and now in CARLSBAD PLAZA. Our team is always the same - me, my wife and daughter (now she is already 10 years old). Every time I'm going on a trip, I try to find more information in different forums and only then make a choice. I'll try my best to help someone else too! About hotels...ULRIKA is a small hotel, the average four, as they say, belongs to the government of Tatarstan (and therefore there are many holidaymakers from this region). The food is excellent, you order lunch and dinner in advance from the menu, the room was very sad at first, but after a while and 100 euros it was changed to quite decent both in size and content.

Sweet and beautiful Sadovaya Street, and as it seemed to us, quite pensioner's ....Although there are not a lot of young people here! After a 3-week stay, everything was fine, but somehow it didn’t catch on (and I always compare any hotel in terms of cost - and what you got for it). The next one was DVORAK. This hotel is probably the golden mean for this ratio! There are, of course, problems. Let's say the medical base leaves much to be desired and the treatment paid for by the permit is more like a profanation (especially a 15-minute stroking, which was bewilderingly called a massage). But if you ask the same thing for cash, it's a completely different matter! The restaurant is quite decent. We were completely satisfied. We even celebrated New Year's Eve in it! And if not for our compatriots around, it would be very cool. And so everyone got drunk and let's talk loudly in our folk! Comments did not give any results and I had to go to the room.
While living in DVORAK, we went around most of the hotels for further rest, and stopped at the fantastically beautiful SAVOY! Certainly expensive! But it's worth it. Until now, my daughter remembers the name of the room: villa ARTEMIS 102. Probably the most beautiful room (it consists of 3 rooms, a kitchen-hall, a living room and a bedroom) a beautiful balcony, and sun loungers on the lawn near the balcony, if you want to lie down and sunbathe (it was summer). The spa area is one of the best! Swimming pool 25 meters with slightly chlorinated water (ozanization in my opinion). Does not corrode the eyes, the daughter did not climb out of it for hours! I even got the impression that it was as if I had been to the sea! Saunas are wonderful and most importantly clean and tidy with good aroma oils. The gym is the bomb! Technojim trainers, professional, the same as in the club in Tomsk. So if active sports and a swimming pool are important to you, then SAVOY is for you!
It is not a problem to reach the springs - take the elevator to Sadovaya or from the wooden colonnade also take the elevator. Minus, in my opinion, there is only one little restaurant that does not reach the level of the hotel! By the way, the doctor there was a very professional Mrs. Omarova (from Russians) Since he was a doctor by education, he was pleasantly surprised by the professionalism! In DVORAK, it was quite the opposite. By the way, as a digression: everywhere, all of us in different hotels were assigned completely different sources! Although the diseases seem to be the same! I got the impression that what sources are closer to this hotel, they appoint! And at least kill yourself nowhere on the Internet, I could not find indications for treatment for each source. It's strange...By the way, SAVOY also has inexpensive, very budget rooms, but the infrastructure is one in common! So I recommend SAVOY! And here is our last visit to CARLSBAD PLAZA five stars and even with a plus! We lived in a standard room on the second line, in principle, maybe even better because it's quiet!
The pools are small but beautiful. The food is decent, although there were those who did not like it! I want to focus on the pros and cons. Pros - very beautiful halls, expensive design, porters at the entrance, beautiful restaurant! Their own clinic is adjacent to the hotel. I went for a Thai massage - complete relaxation! It costs 1600 crowns, but it's worth it! Wife went to LPG. The device is new, the latest model, she understands this, although it could be cheaper. By the way, SAVOY has a very ancient LPG. The downside is some too cool vacationing people! Everyone is at least sitting on an oil or gas pipe (judging by the show-off and disdain for all other vacationers! ) Somehow I have not seen this in other hotels. Maybe just so lucky for the oligarchs! The hotel is worth the money (although there are very expensive room categories, which probably will not match the price-quality level).

Now about travel agencies.
The first time I don’t even know who we came through, they brought us to the hotel and just silently took us away. In DVORAK we were from TERMA TREVEL. There are no special claims, except for the razvodnyak on excursions. We asked for an individual one on a new, clean MERCEDES to Prague (we had already been to a group one before and almost fell off our legs, by the way, I strongly advise you not to take a group trip to Prague with children, otherwise you will have to carry the child in your arms from fatigue). Why such wishes, but because once we drove in SUCH a car! We thought that we would not reach it and it would fall apart along the way! ) By the way, I immediately told my wife, let's not get into such a car, but it seems to be uncomfortable! We pay money and we must get the corresponding service for them! So I asked the guide in TERMA 2 times - is the car definitely new? Certainly! They paid the money and the next day a five-year-old MERCEDES of the old lineup arrives! I'm complaining about the driver! And he has nothing to do with it! He was paid half of what I paid and that's it!
I call the guide, and she starts telling me a story that she doesn’t understand cars well and immediately begins to understand Russian poorly! In short, the divorce is complete! A trifle of course, but the sediment remained! I was later told that TERMA is the monopolist in Vary and therefore their prices for services and excursions are the highest! Still and for this money they gave the promised! True, there are companies even worse! After TERMA cheated us with a car, we turned to the reception with a question: where can I go on the weekend? We immediately received a NATALI voucher with a trip to Vienna for 2 days and money in advance, because it's Friday and you won't get anywhere else! OK! When asked what kind of bus, we were told it's super MERCEDES! In short, at about 6 in the morning we stand and wait at the place indicated in the voucher for the bus, a few passed us and silence! I call the number indicated in the voucher and say: what about us! The answer was great! No questions, we'll be right back! Returns....
Small MERCEDES SPRINTER (I don't know how many places there are, probably no more than 30). The bus is twenty years old, the seats are narrow, in short, until we arrived, they cursed all the staff at the reception! Moreover, in the middle of the trip, two grannies almost got into a fight! One began to eat cutlets, and the second from this smell began to feel sick! In short, they did not come to an understanding! I'm more on group excursions from small offices! The coolest thing is that this time we went with a company in a new MERCEDES VIANO minibus together with another family to the same Vienna (it was an individual trip with a booked guide in Vienna) and the money came out almost the same! But only on the bus we were offered free white wine, vitel water and in the cabin there were leather seats and a large DVD with different films (including children's Russian ones) and wireless headphones for everyone! The children watched movies, and we chatted nicely while drinking wine on the road! Time just flew by!

And the guide and Vienna seemed even better, and Vienna is even more beautiful!! ! In my opinion, Vienna is simply the pearl of Europe and its most beautiful city! In second place, of course, is Prague! Well, our whole family is in love with Karlovy Vary! Believe me, the most important thing in treatment is air, walks, water and relaxation! And you need to go at least 3 weeks! And upon arrival, it seems to me that we are getting younger and, most importantly, mentally balanced))) We just love Karlovy Vary and we dream of them at night when we come home! And these are very comfortable dreams! Believe me!
Yes, I digress ...The company where we booked a trip to Vienna is located in the GRAND hotel PUPP. They have a very nice office and delicious coffee! The staff and drivers are our Russians! They told us everything, showed hotels in Vienna with rooms on the big screen, and immediately booked a hotel for us. In short, the guys are doing their best, probably the salary depends on this (just kidding!
And quite a big plus, when asked about the speak Russian menu, a Russian girl waitress immediately came up and told us everything and advised us! Respect to her and 20 euros for tea from the whole company! She gave us business cards and said that they have a very famous establishment and Russian waiters always work! The prices are quite reasonable for 5 people and with a bottle of wine 180 euros. Believe me, some even had 2 hot dishes! In short, I recommend! Speaking of restaurants in Karlovy Vary. I can only recommend two with decent cuisine: EMBASSY with traditional Czech cuisine (I recommend Old Bohemian duck with sweet cabbage and lamb knuckle! ), which is located to the right of the DVORAK hotel and PROMENADA on Zametsky Verkh Street (there is European cuisine and very good steaks). Smoking unfortunately everywhere and this is a big minus! (especially if we do not smoke and with a child).
Now about shopping in Karlovy Vary! There is only one plus - Russian sellers are everywhere!

Prices are higher than in Prague and much higher than in Munich! The next time we arrive in Vary, we will go shopping in Milan, the guys from KSENIA TRAVEL offered to go for a couple of days, they said that they have a Russian stylist consultant girl there, her services cost about 100 euros a day, but she knows where the discounts are and it’s good traded! To Zhenya, one new Russian from our hotel went on such a trip, said that she took this girl and things in boutiques cost her 2 times cheaper than in Moscow, and in 2 days she and the girl went around as many shops as she herself would not have had in a week !
So it’s better to go shopping in Munich on Saturday, and on Sunday to Prague (everything is closed in Germany, but everything works in Prague, you can take a walk and buy something). As for the restaurants in Prague, I can say one thing - there are a lot of them, including good ones! Just see where there are a lot of locals there and sit down!
That's how short it seems and told everything!
Now we are going to go to Karlovy Vary for the May holidays! Cherry blossoms are an incomparable sight! I would be glad if my review is useful to someone, although my opinion is of course subjective, but based on personal experience! See you in Karlovy Vary!!!
