Holidays in Cyprus: impressions and tips
We rested in Cyprus in the second half of August. The weather was beautiful, the sea was warm. We stayed at the Penelope Beach Hotel. The hotel is good, I especially liked the location) There are several disadvantages: I was surprised by paid Wi-Fi and a refrigerator, leaking air conditioning, monotonous breakfast and dinner.
I highly recommend taking a car in Cyprus. It is better to take directly at the hotel, more powerful (for climbing mountains it is desirable that the engine capacity is from 1400 cm3), always with air conditioning. We took a Toyota Yaris 1200 and it was hard on some hills (but the overall impression of the car is good! Cypriots are friendly to tourists: they show the way; they give a sign if they forgot and drove into the oncoming lane; ))
We spent one night at the Troodos Hotel, which is located on Troodos Square. I really liked the hotel! We noticed that many locals rested in it. We did not regret that we did not go back to Protaras, because.
in the morning we went to Kykkos and were almost alone in the monastery (we had time before the arrival of the excursion groups). We bought local figs, the taste of which I remember for the rest of my life (no match for our St. Petersburg imported figs)
We ate every day in a different place. Everywhere is delicious and the portions are 2 times larger than in St. Petersburg)) In Limassol, I liked the National cafe, which is located on the waterfront near the Church of St. Catherine. In Protaras, I liked the Hippocampus restaurant ..
Souvenirs were purchased in Protaras, because in Limassol, Paphos prices were higher.
