We wanted proximity to the sea and a sandy beach, and it so happened that the offer for Silver Sands coincided with our wishes, well, we decided not to look for something “other”. The beaches here are good with very pleasant yellow sand, just right for the kids. And the sea is excellent, transparent, beautiful. By the way, the sea is next to the hotel, I went out and already came) So in terms of relaxing on the beach with children, this place is perfect.
3* room but clean. I also had no complaints about cleaning. As for food, I can say that everything suited me, the simpler the better, otherwise I will not stop. There was always a choice of meat, garnish, with sweets somehow not thick, but, I repeat, for me this is only a plus) The child ate little, but ate. Walking, in the sense of "walking down the street", there is where. Close to the city, there are shops, cafes. We were at the fountain show, a very beautiful 50-minute performance, mesmerizing, we were satisfied. We went for a walk on a pirate ship (the son is a fan of this topic, so they could not miss it). The ship is designed in a pirate theme, with a flag and other paraphernalia on board, the captain and the whole crew are also “dressed up” as expected. The child was delighted, we enjoyed the walk and the views. We were satisfied with the next trip to Cyprus, and I can advise the Silver Sands hotel - a good place to relax with the family.

The view from the window was amazing and the room was standard. Everything was fine in the room, everything worked, and the child was given an extra bed. bed. (not a folding bed). Towels changed, shampoo replenished etc. There is a hairdryer in the room near the TV, a safe and a refrigerator in the room. For a safe, TV and refrigerator you need to pay extra separately. There is a table and chairs on the balcony, but no dryer. The food at the hotel is good, of high quality (salted red fish, blue cheeses, squids, crabs in batter, there are soups, a lot of meat, fruits are also normal. There are many different cafes nearby for those who have HB. We sometimes went to try Cypriot cuisine. In a cafe and in restaurants the portions are very large and everything is also very fresh and tasty. The beach is good, clean. The water is emerald green, the sand is white, there are a few fish. Sunbeds on site are free, but on weekends a lot of locals come and strangers come, they occupy free sunbeds. Nobody chases them, but they just take money from them for a sunbed and an umbrella. I didn’t like that strangers freely walk around the hotel and a couple of Russians had their bag stolen while they were swimming. True, the police immediately arrived and the thieves were found, the bag was returned. On weekends the music is really loud in the cafe next door. can be heard even with a closed balcony. But on weekdays everything is quiet. At the hotel, vacationers behaved decently, there were no drunks and screaming. There were a lot of English people on arrival. Germans, and by the end of our holiday there are more Russians. We rented a car and drove around the island for four days. Even in Famagusta, they hit the Turkish territory. Rest were satisfied. Liked the hotel too. Good location, good food, good service. As for three stars, it's normal, but if you update the number of rooms, it will be great!

Breakfasts are standard, but dinners are varied with an abundance of meat, vegetable and other dishes. The only negative was that the cleaning of the rooms left much to be desired, even a tip did not help, although they did not make any special demands. The staff is friendly but English speaking so knowledge of the language is highly welcome. Gifts in the form of chocolate can only be useful to you before the main peak of the holidays, until the beginning of August, after the hotel is full and this does not affect the resettlement. If you have the opportunity to come here again, come and you will not regret it. Rest for all age categories.

The main plus of the hotel is that it is located right on the seafront at 50 m. Excellent beach, clean sand, clean and always warm sea. Blue Flags 2013 for the cleanliness of the beach. The Mediterranean Sea is the cleanest and warmest.
The hotel pros: a small clean room, which has everything you need for a comfortable stay. After renovation. Comfortable bed with a good mattress, quality white linens, comfortable pillows. Separate bathroom with bathtub. There is always hot water, good pressure. Each room has a TV, refrigerator, air conditioning, an electric kettle with cups and glasses. The air conditioner works great. Each room has a balcony. Do not hesitate to take a room with a side sea view. The Inland View rooms are a view of the courtyard with the units. It's better not to take them.
We had a room on the 4th floor with a side sea view, 426. The view from the balcony is excellent. There is a table with chairs on the balcony, it's great to drink coffee or tea...and look at the Mediterranean blue-blue sea.
The food is good, we were never hungry. Breakfast for 4 balls, lunch for 3 balls, dinner - an honest 5. Always a good selection of salads, fresh vegetables, fruits, ice cream, cakes. In the morning - eggs in 3 cooking methods, bacon, ham, sausage, very fresh cottage cheese, yoghurts, potatoes, beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, muesli, milk, jams, bread. Drinks vending machines: tea, coffee, cappuccino. Water, juice. Do not take sausages - nasty. Lunch (they say Lunch) - lots of greens, vegetables, fruits, soup, several types of side dishes, chicken in sauce, and McDonald's options (nuggets, burgers, battered fish). Drinks are charged separately.
Dinner is just great - several types of meat: pork, lamb, veal, chicken (juicy tender pieces), a lot of fresh and steamed vegetables, seafood, sweets, cakes, ice cream. Drinks for an additional fee. Coffee - 2.5 euros (in Cypriot), homemade wine on tap - 3.5 euros. We had half board (breakfast, dinner). Sometimes we took lunch at the hotel (lunch) for an additional fee of 9 euros per person. You can change dinner for lunch (take a voucher at the reception). But it's better not to do this - dinner is much better and richer in the choice of meat.
The service is very good, attentive friendly staff, ready to solve your questions. And if you learned 10 words in Greek, then just super. The terrace where the restaurant is located is very cozy, everything is white, the ceiling fans are working, the breeze is blowing, it is not hot. You dine right on the seashore by the green lawn.
All day long you can luxuriate by the pool on comfortable chaise lounges of 3 types: just chaise lounges, chaise lounges with thick mattresses, double and triple chaise lounges (just double beds! ) with a canopy from the sun. Very comfortable. Especially in the August heat, you escape in a wonderful shade. Sun loungers by the pool free of charge. On the beach itself, for a fee for all hotels, all vacationers - 2.5 euros for 1 sun lounger, 2.5 euros for 1 umbrella. You can save a lot. The hotel is right on the beach! You lie by the pool, walk 20 meters and swim in the sea. You come back to your grass again. Super! There is always free space by the pool.
The entry into the sea is gentle, sandy. But be careful - there are stones, small reefs! Or wear special shoes for swimming or go along the wide "path" where you can walk barefoot into the sea.
Between the hotel and the sea there is a wonderful promenade for pedestrians only. In the evening, the air is fragrant, the breeze, the smell of the sea.
On the other side of the hotel 100 m Protaras street with small shops, cafes, taverns, souvenir shops. On the corner (up and to the left) is a wonderful Rossos bakery, where there is always a wide selection of fresh pastries, cakes 1.5-2 euros, freshly squeezed juice (orange, carrot) 2.5 euros per half liter, hot sandwiches with a filling of your choice (ham, halloumi cheese, vegetables ) about 3 euros, milkshakes 3.5 euros. You can have a light lunch there or take it to your room. And sit on the balcony, enjoy the sea. There is also a supermarket on the left corner with a promise to Save Money. Indeed, the prices are normal, the choice is not bad.
We took excursions not at the hotel, but on the recommendation of tourists in the Kariatis travel agency (Afrodite tour). They have the same excursions that our tour operators offer 40 percent cheaper. If ours offer the Grand Tour of Cyprus for 80 euros, it’s about 42. Larnaca - St. Fiokla Monastery - Nicosia we went for 38 euros per person, not 70 euros, as our hotel rooms offered.
Wonderful trip to Nicosia - Kykkos Monastery - Troodos Monastery 38 euros. Kariatis has its own buses, sea boat, everything is very decent. The cost of the tour does not include lunch. We had a good meal at a nearby restaurant. From 8 euros per person. It depends on the appetite.
The trip to Larnaca to the Church of St. Lazarus, the archbishop's palace and the Church of St. John the Theologian in Nicosia was very pleasant. And the monastery of Kykkos and Troodos in the Troodos mountains left an extraordinary impression.
On the trip you need to take comfortable shoes, water, sunblock (intense sun), dark glasses, a hat and even an umbrella (from the sun).
Delicious Commandaria wine and Zivania vodka are sold in the shop of the Kykkos monastery. Inside the monastery itself, in the icon shop, the choice and prices are better than in the wooden shops below.
In Protaras itself there is a small oceanarium 13 euros, a show of dancing fountains 26 euros (at Kariatis the price is 1 euro cheaper), a museum and a wonderful church of St. Elijah on the mountain ( bus 101 to the stop.
Cavo Greco and left on the hill) or walk to McDonald's and then left and left again. The church of St. Elijah in Protaras is open all day, on Saturday 19.00 pm.
In Paralimni, a 10-minute drive, there is the church of St. Nicholas (bus 101 to the stop. Golden Coast hotel), located right on the seafront in front of the hotel. Liturgy at 9:00 am on Sunday. The bus runs every 20 minutes, the ticket is 1.5 euros.
Cons of the Silver Sands 3 * hotel: corridors require repair, for using a safe 2 euros per day, for using a refrigerator 3 euros per day, a deposit of 10 euros is taken for towels (returned after return), a deposit of 5 euros for an adapter to electrical equipment. But this is typical for many 3* and 4* Cypriot hotels. The doors to the room and bathroom are old. The renovation done in the room has not yet touched the doors. At the corner of the street in the bar until 2 am the music plays very loudly, it interferes with sleep. And you can’t change the number on the other side, there is a view of the refrigeration units. So you choose between a good view and silence at night.
In terms of price - quality is good. Although holidays on the islands are usually more expensive than on the coast. 9 days in a 3 * hotel in Cyprus in Protaras cost us as much as 14 nights in Montenegro in a 4 * hotel in Becici on the same half board. True for early booking.
But these small flaws did not prevent us from having a great rest and enjoying Cyprus! This is an amazing place where you want to return again and again!

As a result, we were promised that the hotel was “almost 4 *”, which, in general, is not far from the truth, although, of course, this is not the Mediterranean at all, in which we were on a previous trip to Cyprus.

This time we decided to choose another resort, as we have already been to Limassol. We went to another part of the island with light sands - Protaras. A bit far from everything, but given that we had already seen the island on the previous trip, we didn’t go anywhere much this time. Except in the neighboring Aya Napa. Compared to Aya Napa, our Protaras is just a village. There is essentially one street, and that's it. People walk back and forth, that's all the evening entertainment. We went to the fountains once, they are illuminated to the music. Recommended, enjoy.
The coolest thing is the sea. In Cyprus, it is generally special. Warm and clean. A wide beach of light sand, in contrast to the narrow Limassol and gray sand that looks like mud, of course, is much more pleasant, it feels like being on another island altogether.

So, back to the hotel.
We arrived in the morning. A charter flight from Domodedovo, exceptionally good service, everything was on schedule. Brought to the hotel, and had to wait. We were warned about this in Moscow, no problem. At first they gave us a terrible number, and we went to make a fuss. They offered to wait again. We waited. The next number was much better, but we understood its "charms" later - it went out to a noisy disco. In general, we slept under the air conditioner with the windows closed so as not to hear the noise. The view from the room sideways to the sea, watching the sunset with a bottle of wine has become our nightly entertainment.

The room is excellent, the furniture is good. The hotel itself is stylish, pleasantly surprised. In general, we have never been horrified by the "rest in 3 stars", we can safely recommend it as an inexpensive, but quite worthy option!!!
But in general, Cyprus is still the same. Delicious food, wine, the measured life of Cypriots and noisy resorts... a lot of Russians, a lot of sun. Although not so green. But the sea is warm. It's nice here in the summer too!

Here is our honeymoon! I'll tell you everything in order. If you are going to hang out, then you are in Ainapa! I was already pregnant, so we settled on Protaras. The whole city is two lines of hotels and taverns, a lot of children, pensioners and pregnant women))) As we were told by the Latvian staff (and there were many of them, there were almost no problems with the language), our hotel, from the entire network of tsokos in Protaras, was the most the best, not inferior even to Konstantinos himself 5 * (in which we almost went for 4 nights for the same money). … More ▾ Here is our honeymoon! The hotel is decent, on the first line. A small pool, white leather sun loungers (I'll post a photo)))! Beach chairs of the hotel on the lawn, on the beach they are paid, it seems 7 euros. The hotel was renovated recently, but just in time for our arrival, the Cypriots went on strike and no one cleaned the rooms for 3 days, there were no beach towels, and only the very Latvians worked from the staff, for which a big THANK YOU to them !! ! At least someone worked for us, but the rest of the hotels were left without food and came to eat with us. On the 4th day we felt all the delights of the hotel! The Cypriots have finished their strike, they finally fixed the leak in the toilet bowl, changed the linen, and an extended menu appeared, etc. ! We were at sea for the first time, so we didn’t even immediately notice the lack of service))))
Of the excursions, they were only in the blue lagoon, they bought tickets on the spot, as you go out to the sea to the left to the pier with ships. By the way!! ! On the beach you will be lured to look at supposedly swimming DOLPHINS! There are almost none there, the sailors themselves see them 1-2 times during the season! Do not overpay money)))
It was not always possible to sleep, there was a bar hut with a lively voice near our hotel, in the early days it was cool to listen to well-known hits, but at night 3 it was already freezing!
In general, everyone is satisfied, he justified his declared 3 * by all 200% !! !

The food is very tasty and quite varied. We took HB meals - breakfast and dinner.
Breakfast is almost always the same: scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, buns, a couple of types of sausage and cheese, baked and raw vegetables, tea, coffee, juices. We didn’t take lunch, as it’s very cheap to dine in the city (15-18 euros for two, 2 dishes + 2 alcoholic cocktails. Portions in Cyprus are usually large and therefore you can take 1 serving for two and ask for an extra plate, they are used to it). One of the main advantages of the hotel is the location. Hotel on the beach, but at the same time in the center of the village of Protaras. Therefore, there were no problems with lunch - you leave the hotel and there are a lot of cafes right there, for every taste (and there is also a McDuck, by the way). There are many open, but under awnings, in the shade and fans work, so it's cool. I liked the Friends bar, they showed the series "Friends" on TV, it was cool to watch it in the original, in English)
Dinners at the hotel are very tasty, every day something new, then Italian cuisine, then Greek, and so on. Several types of meat, at least one type of fish, several salads, and for garnish potatoes, pasta, always cooked in different ways. Everyone will find something to eat. Sweets and fruits are also present, 2-3 types of cake, ice cream, watermelons, melons, plums, apples. All drinks at dinner are paid, even water. But we usually drank wine or cocktails at dinner. By the way, from 20.00 to 24.00 there was a promotion at the hotel - all cocktails and other alcoholic drinks for 2 euros)) And in the city, alcohol prices are cheap compared to Moscow, in many cafes there are the same promotions. So I drank cocktails a year in advance! )))
There is practically no animation in the hotel, in the evenings at 9 o’clock the animator girls sometimes sang, sometimes danced, for about 40 minutes. But I personally didn’t need animation, after dinner we went for a walk around Protaras. There are a lot of people walking around, in many cafes there is live music or some humorists perform, of course, in English, but we know it in principle and we were interested. Also in the evening you can walk around souvenir shops, of which there are also a lot, or go to a show of dancing fountains. It costs 15.5 euros per person, goes every day from 21.00 to 22.00. In principle, it’s cool, you can spend an evening, we also have it in Moscow. Also in Protaras you can visit the Church of St. Elijah, it is not active, but beautiful, there is a tree of desires, you can attach a note. But even just walking down the street in the evening is cool. I saw only one discotheque there, but we are not club lovers, we didn’t specifically look for them, so maybe there were more.
The sea is just super class. Smooth entry, sandy beach. On weekdays, there are just a lot of empty places and there are few people, and on weekends Cypriots apparently came to rest, or maybe Europeans for the weekend, I still didn’t really understand. So on weekends there were more people, but a couple of free sunbeds could always be found. On the beach itself, sunbeds are paid, but hotel free sunbeds and umbrellas are on the lawn, which is right next to the beach. so you can sunbathe on them, still close to the sea. There is also entertainment on the beach, you can ride on tablets (10 euros), banana (8 euros), parasail (30 euros) - I recommend !!! , jet skis. And there was also a massage on the beach (a full body massage cost 34 euros). In general, the hotel left wonderful impressions, and from Cyprus too) I advise everyone))

Everything could be nothing, but 50% of the rooms do not overlook the sea, but overlook the construction site. Naturally, a rumble, and they start working from 8 in the morning. On the same side there is parking of one's own and other people's cars, there is no security, there is no barrier. Everything else is drawn to minus 3 *. … More ▾ Everything could be nothing, but 50% of the rooms do not overlook the sea, but overlook the construction site. The hotel is very good, the room is cozy, the only negative is that the hotel is located opposite, and the workers gather from 6 in the morning, but if the window is closed, they won’t bother you. We always came to the room in the morning, so the next 5 hours of sleep no one could disturb. The staff is pleasant, but at the reception came across frames that did not even speak English. … More ▾ The hotel is very good, the room is cozy, the only negative is that the hotel is located opposite, and the workers gather from 6 in the morning, but if the window is closed, they won’t bother you. We always came to the room in the morning, so the next 5 hours of sleep no one could disturb. The staff is pleasant, but at the reception came across frames that did not even speak English. We had breakfasts and dinners, the cuisine and assortment are amazing, they just rolled out from the table. The hotel is located in the heart of Protaras, all shops, pubs, restaurants nearby. Shoi of dancing fountains (13 euros without drinks and cuisine) in 10-15 min. walk (MUST SEE!!!!!! ) There are only 2 nightclubs in Protaras, and they are not very good. There are very few Russians, which is nice. mostly British and Germans. Excursions are not very pleasant, do not match the prices. Sea fairy tale!! ! The beach is great. For a family vacation - what you need !!!!!! ! Ayy Napa (for those who want real fun) 10 km, taxi about 20 euros, but you can bargain up to 15 euros.
