A year has passed since our holiday in Northern Cyprus, and I remember everything in great detail, as if it were yesterday.
We chose the Denizkyzi hotel for relaxation, where we arrived at the beginning of June 2010 for 16 days. All questions regarding the organization of recreation were dealt with by a wonderful meeting party - real professionals in tourism, I will gladly give the contacts of this company in a personal message. And the choice of hotel, and accommodation, and flights, and transfers, and meals, and excursions, and a host of other issues that arose during our stay on vacation - in all this they became our assistants. The entire flight route was described to us in the most detailed way, everything was detailed, we even had almost no questions when we were going to make this unusual at first sight flight with two transfers with a 2-year-old child.
When choosing a hotel, we were guided by several factors: 1st, that the place was calm and 2nd, a good sandy beach nearby, so that we could walk calmly with our baby at any time and swim. About the Denizkyzy Royal hotel: probably with all my desire I can’t find any cons. Quiet, calm, cleaned every day, which was not unimportant for us, because as a child.
Hotel rooms: correspond to the level of four stars, no less. All rooms have a sea view as all rooms are located on one side only.
Location of the hotel: the hotel is located fifteen minutes drive from the city of Girne (whose second name is Kyrenia). You can go out onto the road, it's about a hundred meters, there is a minibus - dolmush, four Turkish lira will cost the journey to Girne. I advise everyone to at least once pass in this same minibus, there is one funny feature. At least it was unusual for us.
Near the hotel there is everything you need: pharmacy, beauty salon, supermarket, shops. Lots of restaurants of all kinds. Renting a car is also possible without any problems right at the hotel, but it's a little expensive there, we rented again through the host.
The staff at the hotel is very friendly, polite, always ready to help, every little thing is solved with great goodwill and immediately, which is important.
Meals at the hotel: dinners were very good, varied. The breakfasts are good, but the only negative is the monotonous, we got fed up in the end. True, in my opinion, hotels almost all over the world suffer from this - the set is the same everywhere. The cuisine of Northern Cyprus itself is very tasty, healthy, anyone will find a dish to their taste.
Hotel grounds: FANTASTIC! The cleanliness is perfect, everything is cleaned every morning, the GARDEN, maybe all the hotels in Northern Cyprus have such gardens, but I want to say that it was incredible beauty! Our child was delighted with it! Of course, the magical Mediterranean climate certainly plays an important role here - in such a climate it is difficult not to grow such a variety of flowers and trees!
Since I mentioned our child, I’ll immediately say a few words about the attitude towards the children of the Turkish Cypriots: they just spoiled the child for us there! Everything is possible for him there, these endless lollipops and ice cream, endless squeezes. Whatever he did there, but there were non-standard situations, everyone is always kind around, no matter what. After a week, I realized that something had to be done. I began to ask the hotel staff to be a little stricter, and it was so funny to watch this, their foreheads would frown and immediately smile at him. These are the inhabitants of Northern Cyprus! Very friendly!
There are two buildings of three and four stars on the territory of the hotel, breakfasts and dinners were held on the open terrace in the building of three stars. The view when you sit on this very terrace is fabulous: on one side of the mountain, on the other the sea.
Hotel beach: the hotel has its own beach, beautiful, completely sandy, you go down the stone path for five minutes, and you are there, all the necessary beach services work perfectly. There are a lot of sunbeds and sun loungers, towels every morning for hotel guests (non-hotel guests can come to the beach for a fee), a bar, changing rooms, everything is clean. The sand on the beach is cleaned every evening. Next to the beach across the road is a swimming pool, large, clean, but we didn’t visit it much, we swam mainly in the sea.
Excursions: just saying "There is something to see" is not saying anything or lying. Sightseeing places in Northern Cyprus are impressive! We were on two excursions: in principle, everything was pleasant, it is difficult to travel with a child, which is why we were on only two programs. The organization of excursions is very good, everything is thought out, both rest and lunch. They gave a lot of information, despite the fact that I could absorb only 50 percent, because our child was also interested in everything. I especially liked: Bellapais Abbey, St. Hilarion Castle, wild beach on the Karpaz and holy places. Her husband was still in Famagusta, she made a great impression on him.
I will say that we will visit Northern Cyprus again with pleasure! Rest we remember only on the positive side!
