Cyprus, thank you for the emotions!!!
The idea to relax this year in Cyprus came somehow unexpectedly in the spring, and I began to surf the Internet in search of a hotel and draw up a program for a mandatory visit to the sights I liked. The choice was made on Tasia Maris Oasis 4 *, located in Ayia Napa, when choosing, as usual, it was based on the reviews and rating of the hotel. I must say right away - they did not lose, the hotel is really good. I liked, in principle, everything - from the design of the rooms to the food. It also reminded me of For Elements in Costa Dorada (Spain), where we rested in 2011. Roadcar rentals is located 100 meters from the hotel, in which on the second day we took a wonderful Nissan Micra (automatic), which promised to show us the planned beauties of Cyprus. The cost of renting a car is 110 euros for three days. The first to visit was the Konnos Bay beach, located near Ayia Napa, and I would say that this is the best beach we have visited. Located in a small lagoon, clear water, soft sand. A few minutes drive is the town of Protaras, cozy and calm, unlike Ayia Napa, with a beautiful promenade along the sea. In Protaras it is good to relax with children, somehow it is quiet and measured there, and the hotels are decent. On the second day we went to the west - as a must-visit in Cyprus was, of course, his calling card - Petra tou Romiou (Aphrodite's Bay). It is worth noting that the roads in Cyprus are excellent, and it was a pleasure to drive. And now some white rocks appeared from afar, which means we are at the goal! And although there was a small storm that day, Aphrodite did not come out of the sea foam. Next on our route is Paphos, a beautiful town, more respectable, or something, than Ayia Napa. We wandered over it and moved on. Coral Bay somehow did not impress, in general, the beaches in Cyprus are more picturesque in the Ayia Napa area. And finally, Cape Drepano and the sea caves, and before us some fantastic, Martian landscape opens up, the Mediterranean Sea here seems somehow powerful, like the ocean. I read that the Albanian ship Edro once sank here, and now it is a local landmark, but for some reason we did not find it. Well, okay, it's time to return home with a mandatory check-in to Lefkara, a village located in the mountains, between Limassol and Larnaca. We arrived there already in the evening, it had recently rained and got drunk from the crazy smell of pines and some herbs unknown to us. The village is a fairy tale, you must definitely visit it, it is such a color. My adorable narrow streets, shutters entwined with bougainvilleas, flower pots with palm trees, cute cafes and shops where local craftsmen weave lace and sell silverware. It's great that there are still such places on earth, getting into them you feel as if in another dimension. As a result, for the second day we drove more than 500 km. The third day was devoted to the beaches of Makronissos (with white, very pleasant sand and azure water) and exploring Cape Greco (insanely beautiful seascapes, in fact, what they flew to Cyprus for). The rest of the days were spent relaxing on the Nissi beach, although it is not as picturesque as Konnos and Makronissos, but the atmosphere on it is something! Until now, I hear these incendiary hits and before my eyes young (and not so) people dancing on the beach. Nissi is an atmosphere of celebration and drive, and what else do you need on vacation? So, my declarations of love to you, Nissy! In general, all the beaches in Cyprus are equipped and very civilized. Summarizing, I will say this: I liked my vacation in Cyprus! It’s a pity, just now, we didn’t visit the monastery of Kykkos and Kyrenia, there was little time. If possible, we will come back with our son! By the way, I was struck by the greediness of UIA, only water is free on board, everything else is for money (packed coffee - 3 euros, a creepy-looking sandwich - 8 euros), but oh well, after all, you can’t spoil your vacation with such trifles anyway!
