The flight lasted 12 hours 30 minutes. When I got off the plane, I could not imagine that in 15 days I would have to fly again. The air was very humid, but it was easy to breathe. At the airport, we quickly received our luggage, found our representative and 4 of us in a micro bus were sent to Varadero to our hotel. From Havana to Varadero we drove about 2 hours.
They brought us to the hotel at 22-00 not to the main building (we found out later). Quickly issued and issued the keys (I gave a chocolate bar). Having entered the room, I was upset, the room was large and clean, but it smelled very damp (ground floor). Returning to the reception, I asked for another room, they didn’t refuse me, but asked me to come the next day by 12 o’clock. Walking around the hotel in the evening, I was delighted with the territory is huge and very beautiful. Then I realized that we were settled not in the main building, but in the village of Cayo Largo (and it turned out to be super). I noticed a villa (bungalow) in which I would like to live and the next day I was moved to the third floor in room 3609 without any problems. 50m from the ocean, and the pool is opposite. The beach is a fairy tale (Believe me, I live on the sea, there is something to compare with) for both adults and children. The entrance is soft sand stranded metro 80 then a smooth transition deeper and deeper. We went on an all-inclusive system and used without motor vehicles for free. We rode on a catamaran and on a yacht almost every day, we were lucky the ocean was very warm 27 degrees and calm. Until a certain time, and then Hurricane Sandy began. It was fun and scary for two days we sat in the hotel bars drinking pino calada, rum, tequila and playing cards. At night they listened to the rumble of the ocean and the howling of the wind. The hotel was not badly damaged, a few fallen trees and part of the palm roof was torn off the restaurant. When the strong wind stopped, everything was quickly restored, the beach and the entire territory were cleaned. Fast and efficient.

Separately, I want to write about the food, they fed normally, but you can’t compare it with Turkey and Egypt. BUT We always ate. Lots of seafood. There are always several types of meat, chicken, etc. Baking is not very good. Fruits: bananas, pineapples, melons, guava. From alcohol in the restaurant poured white and red wine, beer. In terms of bars, the best bar is Sirena by the pool in the village of Cayo Lagro. Great bartenders Ariel and Mariella. They poured us our favorite Legendario rum (in other bars they sell it under the counter to ours for 5 cookies). And they also make cocktails very well in the blobby bar in the main building. Two girls Beatrice and Darling work there, through them we bought rum (5 cookies), tequila (4 cookies), whiskey (5 cookies), coffee (8 cookies) at home. We also bought cigars at the hotel where they are sold by lifeguards on the beach. Cigars Romeo and Juliet 25 pcs per pack 25 cookies and Monte Cristo 25 pcs for 25 cookies.
Excursions: We took one ourselves through Beatrice (lobby bar) 130 cookies (for four) a chic retro car with a driver and a Russian-speaking guide, we went to the Caribbean Sea to scuba dive. Loved the 25 cook dive with the instructor. We stopped where we wanted, dined in restaurants 16 cookies per person a chic lunch: turtle soup, salads, crocodile, tortoise. crab, fish meat + dark rice with lentils, drinks to choose from rum bought 6 cookies a bottle of 0.7 l. The second excursion was taken from our guide Safari Ranch on jeeps (simply recommend). Excursion for the whole day. The price is 70 CUC per person. The tour includes: we drove a jeep for four ourselves, visiting a farm with treats, swimming with a mask and fish (free of charge) or scuba diving (20 cookies with an instructor) there are a lot of fish to see. Bathing in caves in the lake. Great lunch at the villa. Visiting the amusement park bull riding, horseback riding. Transfer to the boat ride through the jungle. Then to other jeeps that were waiting for us on the other side. And on the way home we drove ……. . (let it be a surprise for you). We took the third excursion to Havana again ourselves, on the recommendation of our guide, it was very expensive for her, she made us a retro car through a friend again + a guide for 130 cookies . Havana is a city of contrasts very much. We also went to Varadero several times by taxi for 10 cookies and on a double-decker bus 5 cookies per person for the whole day, ride as much as you want. (Keep your ticket). We ate lobsters in small restaurants, drank rum, smoked cigars - a thrill. On the 15th street we bought souvenirs there is a whole market.
