Savage trip to Trinidad and Tabaga
I did not find any reviews about Trinidad and Tabaga on the Internet, maybe I was looking badly or not there. The first night I spent the night in a hotel at the airport (Trinidad Island), I was waiting for a friend, he was supposed to fly in the next day. After waiting for a friend, looking at the world map (there was no other), after asking the locals (guest staff) we decided to move to Tabaga Island. Airplanes fly there every half an hour (20 minutes of flight and 12 US dollars per ticket), but there are no tickets, you have to order 2 days in advance. We went on the morning ferry (runs 2 times a day), bought a 4-bed cabin for $ 8, although it was possible to ride on the deck and in the cabin (journey time 4.5 hours and ticket 4 tanks). The ferry is very, very decent, everything sparkles and sparks (it’s a pity the virus ate the pictures !!! )
Upon arrival, we went out of the port gate into the street and after voting for 5 minutes we were picked up by a local resident (he is also the owner of a private small hotel) in his car. He took us to his friends, who had a free room. For 80 usd per day, we got three bedrooms on the ground floor (2 floors), a large living room-kitchen with all kitchen utensils, a TV set, a refrigerator, etc. Everything would have been great, but the lack of air conditioning killed us on the very first night, and fans were not saved, kindly and in unlimited quantities provided by the owner.
In the morning there was a 3-minute downpour, and it became easier.
After discussing the current situation over a bottle of ballantine, we went out to explore! After a 3-hour reconnaissance in the local village, we understood why all the guests have a kitchen: for 10 miles in the district there is not a single cafe or restaurant. We found a decent 2-storey guest house with a pool, air conditioning and, again, a kitchen, settled on the second floor in a two-level room for 8 people (two bedrooms + 2 sofa beds in a huge hall) for 110 usd per day.
Right in front of the hotel there was a mini market and a tent with vegetables and fruits. On the second day, I cooked borscht (eating alcohol alone is unhealthy), but due to the heat and the fermentation of yeast ingredients in the body, we decided to postpone eating the next day, but in vain, in the morning we were awakened by the smell of sour borscht (you need to put it in the refrigerator! ) . We decided to eat, took a taxi (the first passing car) and went to the Hilton Hotel on the Atlantic coast. Having paid 250 bucks for 2 plates of food (there is nothing to eat, but it is decorated at the highest level, even send it to the exhibition! ) we went to the beach.
You need to swim from the side of the Caribbean Sea, since there is a very large roll-up from the side of the Atlantic, the water is muddy 300 meters from the coast and the wave is decent.
We got to some local carnival on the beach (not Rio, but still interesting), met two cute French women who speak English through a stump deck and on this swimming in the ocean and our entire vacation for the remaining 6 days ended, good The guesthouse had a swimming pool.
-In February it is very hot there (better to go to Antigua)
-For a normal diet, it is better to buy a tour
-There really isn't much to see.
