Good day to everyone who decided to go to China, namely to Hainan, to the city of Sanya. In my review I will try to answer all the questions that interested me before the trip, and which I did not find answers in other reviews. I am writing a review more for myself as a reminder, because when we go next time, it will be a reminder.
Travel time: August 06-19.2010, two adults
Hotel: Landscape Beach, Dadonghai Bay
Currency (at the time of the trip): 1 yuan = 4.7 rubles; 1 US dollar = 30.0 rubles; 1 dollar = 6.7 yuan.

Road

When buying a tour, we planned to leave on August 05, but at the last moment Pegasus changed something and the departure was scheduled for August 06. The agency apologized to us and returned 2.000 rubles for the shift in the departure date, allegedly for the hotel. And they were also upset that before that they had promised a direct flight Krasnoyarsk - Sanya, and now Krasnoyarsk - Bangkok - Sanya. Anyway. .

When we boarded the plane, the carrier announced that first to Sanya, then to Bangkok, which greatly cheered up my beloved. The flight lasted 06:15 hours. There were many air pockets along the way, so that I myself once poured juice over myself, once a neighbor poured over me.
The return flight was scheduled for August 19 at 09:35. The information was posted on the stand at the hotel guide on the 1st floor of the hotel in the lunch area. Departure from the hotel at 06:30. But by chance in the evening, passing near this information, they noticed that the information had changed, and the departure was scheduled for 12:30. , departure from the hotel at 09:30 h. This, of course, made me glad that you could sleep in and go to breakfast in the morning, but it was not clear that no one warned about the change in check-out time, because we passed by the information when we went to the room to sleep. It would be a shame to roll out with suitcases at 06 am.

Hotel

Landscape Beach, Dadonghai Bay.
We drove from the airport for about half an hour, almost all the tourists were in this hotel. Upon arrival, we found out that the hotel had already been renamed Liking Resort Sanya. At the reception they gave documents and a deposit of $ 100 per room, we were handed the keys and we went to the room. We had an Executive double room with a large bed. Having risen, we realized that there would be no shared bed. We returned to the reception, but the guide explained that the Chinese stupidly moved two beds and that's it. Since it was 05 in the morning, they did not argue and went to bed.
The room contained: two beds, a table, a TV set on it (flat plasma, Russian channel one "RTR - Planet"), a safe, a coffee table, armchairs, a kettle, an ashtray, disposable slippers, matches, green tea bags, a minibar (mini fridge ), washing accessories, hair dryer, air conditioning. The toilet room (it is also a shower room with a bathtub) was separated by a glass partition, which could be curtained. The room was clean, towels and linens were also clean.
The air conditioner was regulated, i. e. we set a comfortable temperature, and did not touch it again. Turning on the refrigerator and putting two free bottles of water in it, we went to bed.

Waking up, we found that the Executive level, this is an extension to the main building, is, as it were, behind it, and therefore there is no sea view at all. View of either the hotel entrance or the building under construction. The room itself suited us (they moved the beds themselves), it doesn’t seem to care, since we were going to sleep in the room. In the morning I looked into the refrigerator, it turned out that it did not freeze at all. We went down to the hotel guide and told her about the problem. The guide was terrible. He practically doesn’t know anything about Sanya, he doesn’t speak Chinese, he only knows how to sell excursions, in connection with which, the refrigerator was changed for us for 2 days.
Breakfast. I used to be in Sanya, at the Pearl River Garden Hotel, there were really breakfasts there, and in this hotel breakfasts are at the 3 * level. I was glad that the bacon and sausages are not soy.
In principle, they were not hungry. There were always fruits, a few salads. A full breakfast is enough for both an adult and a child.
In China, they took dollars, which were changed right there at the reception. $100 = 670 yuan; 100 euros = 840 yuan. On the wall hung a TV with a volute exchange rate from some bank. Seeing it in Sanya and entering it, I compared the courses and they completely coincided. They change a maximum of $ 200 or euros from a room per day, without commission. The yuan is not exchanged for the currency back. Another interesting fact is that dollars of 1996 are not changed at the reception.
After eating, we went to the sea. Took beach towels and slippers from the room. Going out to the beach, we saw hotel sunbeds with umbrellas and deck chairs, but the hotel beach is rocky. We turned left and after passing 100-150 meters, settled down under the lifeguard's tower. The sand is white-yellow, the sea is clear and very warm, the bottom is also sandy. There were waves all the time, so swimming was a lot of fun.
The room was cleaned every day, once they even called on the phone and said that they needed to be cleaned, and we were in the room. If you need to replace towels and bed linen, just throw it on the floor and they will replace it, if you do not, then they will not change it.
In general, the hotel itself left me with an average impression. If you only spend the night and have breakfast in it, then it is quite tolerable, so to speak, a good “troika”. If you need a higher level, then the Pearl River Garden fully corresponds to 4 *.

Taxi

Almost half of the visible transport on the road is a taxi. It is very cheap! After you have loaded your body into the car, then consider that you already owe the taxi driver 5 yuan. Taxi drivers don't speak English. I asked the guides of other tour operators, who were also on the 1st floor of the hotel, to write in Chinese the place where I needed to, showed the taxi driver and drove. The counter immediately shows 5.00 yuan.
The first two kilometers are included in this amount, each additional kilometer costs 2 yuan. When you get into a taxi, you point to the counter and he takes you along the counter. During rush hours, the driver shows on the phone or money how much the trip costs, whether you want to agree or not. You can bargain, but it is problematic to catch a free taxi during peak hours. To McDonalds from the hotel on the counter 12 yuan, a taxi at rush hour asks for 15.
About the rules of the road. I still can't figure out how accidents don't happen with such traffic. Only those who drive either straight or left react to traffic lights. Always turn right, at any signal. Pedestrians and cyclists walk and ride at random. But everyone is moving slowly, no one is in a hurry, maybe that's why there are no accidents. Everyone let each other through, calmly rearranged (just beep), cut each other and this is in the order of things.
I was left with a pleasant feeling about their traffic rules. No one is freaking out, everyone is calm and respectful of each other. Cyclists, motorcyclists and cars ride safely on sidewalks.
Pros: cheap; clean cars; no smell, air conditioning. Basically, these are middle-class VWs, or Hyundai (I don’t remember how to spell it correctly), or Chinese brands ... In any case, the car is good, the driver has no intention of throwing a client or taking a longer road! (verified many times)
Cons: Beware of private traders. They have cars without any markings that they are taxis. It costs 3 times more.

Sanya

Basically, all tourists travel by bus or taxi to McDonald's. I have already written about taxis. To take the bus, you need to walk to the main street. Exit the hotel and turn right. Go to the ring, next to a tall yellow hotel, I think it's called Baohong, and turn onto the left road, and follow it to the main street.

The distance from the hotel is 1 km, walk about 10 minutes. Get to the main street, cross it and turn right to the bus stop. We traveled only by bus number 2, it goes probably every 3 minutes. The fare is 1 yuan. You should immediately have banknotes of one yuan with you, as no one will give you change on the bus. The next stop will be near the Chinese Duty Free (about it below), 8 stops go to McDonalds. Duty free will be on the right side of the bus, McDonald's on the left side and it will stop just opposite it. Near McDonald's there is a pedestrian street full of shops with clothes, mostly sportswear. If you go further along the road about 500 meters, there will be a large shopping center.
Duty free. A large gray building, it is impossible not to notice. It sells only perfumes, watches, glasses and pearls. Alcohol and cigarettes are sold in the duty free of the airport, but the choice there is not large.
You take your passport and air ticket with you in the city in duty free, buy what you need, they give you a receipt, and then you will receive your goods at the duty free of the airport. Duty free accepts yuan and dollars, euros are not accepted. You can pay by Visa card.

Attractions

In this chapter, I will not describe the size of attractions, their beauty, etc. , as this can be read in brochures and other reviews. Before the trip, I was interested in how to get to them, which I will describe, as well as prices. How much I liked this or that attraction, I will evaluate on a 5-point scale. We didn’t buy excursions, we went everywhere ourselves, since it’s much cheaper, they are not tied to time, and we don’t like to wait for someone, because someone from the group will always feel bad, someone will want to eat, sleep, drink, go to the toilet etc.
, as a result of which excursions can be greatly reduced, and if you constantly wait for someone, then interest is lost.
For all Chinese, the entrance fee for excursions is two times cheaper than for foreigners, and if you buy entrance tickets from Chinese guides, they sell them cheaper than at the box office, but we didn’t do this, since we had to look for these guides, because we had to look for them. e. wasting time.

Center of Buddhism "Nan Shan"

It is located about 35 km from Sanya. Drive towards McDonalds. Get from the same stop where bus number 2 stops. You need to go on a blue bus, it does not have a number, instead, hieroglyphs are drawn, on which an elephant is drawn on board, 80-100 cm high, he himself is white in blue pants, the elephant, as it were, walks, raising both hands showing thumbs, like "everything is cool. " This bus runs about once every 10-15 minutes. We got on the bus, showed the conductor Nan Shan's booklet, she took 10 yuan from us and we went. Drive for about an hour.
The bus goes through the entire bay of Sanya Bay. After looking at this bay, I realized that it was good that the hotel was not located in it. There are practically no cafes, shops, all the hotels are across the road from the beach, there are practically no people on the sea, although all the hotels look very beautiful. It's very boring for me. About an hour later, the bus stopped, we (who were going to Nan Shan) were immediately transferred to another one, which took us to the park.
Entrance ticket: 150 yuan, after passing control, we went to the next ticket office, where we paid 20 yuan for cars around the territory. We got into a car and drove to the temple of the Goddess of Mercy, where the entrance fee is 20 yuan. After walking around the temple, they went out, showed tickets for cars and got into the nearest one, which took them to the next attraction, and so on. Drinks, some kind of food, etc. are sold on the territory.
When we left the park, we went to the toilet, next to the ticket office, where the blue bus with the elephant stops.
There were many who wished to leave on it, I had to work with my elbows.
Conclusion: for two, the tour cost 20+300+40+40+20=420 yuan. With a hotel guide, the tour cost 370 yuan per person.
I recommend the tour. Grade 4+

Nan Tan thermal springs

It is located about 35 km from Sanya. Go in the opposite direction from McDonalds, towards the Yalunvan Bay or Yalongbey (which is the same). Shuttle buses do not go there. They say there are free buses, but we could not find them. Attempts to find out from the hotel guide did not lead to anything, as she was interested in selling us a tour. We decided to go ourselves. Since they knew that the springs were located in the area of Yalunvan Bay, they boarded a green (not blue) bus with an elephant and drove to the final stop. We drove for about 40 minutes, gave 5 yuan from the nose. The bus stopped outside the Holiday Inn. Near the hotel there is a shopping street towards the sea.

We went to where we bought, paying 50 yuan for the safe where our things were, and another 10 yuan for an insipid shower. Having dressed, we stopped a taxi and went to the springs. On the way, I noticed that we returned about 17 km towards Dadonghai, after which we turned at a fork and drove the same amount towards the springs. We drove only about 40 km, paying the taxi driver 90 yuan.
Entrance ticket: 198 yuan, a deposit of 200 yuan per person (you can buy drinks and food on the territory and the deposit will be written off). If the deposit is not used, it will be returned according to the receipt. There are plenty of vending machines with free water on site. You must have swimming trunks with you (swimsuit for a girl), tight-fitting, otherwise you will not be allowed into the pool with fish. In the locker room you will be given free towels and slippers. The working hours of the springs are from 10:00 to 22:00.
When we left the park, we saw two Russian girls.
We decided to take a taxi with them, but they said that a guide would come for them. When the guide arrived, he agreed to take us to the hotel for 30 yuan.
We did not go to Monkey Island, since we were on it last time. If someone goes on it, then it is better to combine the tour with the sources, since they are located nearby, i. e. save money. When we were driving back, the odometer showed 35 km to the hotel. It was necessary to immediately go from the hotel by taxi to the sources, it would have been cheaper, but on the other hand we looked at Yalunvan.
Conclusion: for two, the tour cost 10+396+90+30=526 yuan. With a hotel guide, the tour cost 320 yuan per person. If we had gone back by taxi, then it would have happened that way, but we stayed there as long as we wanted and no one hurried us.
I recommend the tour. Rating 5+, complete relaxation! ! !

Taoist Park Heavenly Grottoes.

It is located about 40 km from Sanya. Drive towards McDonalds.

It is located about 35 km from Sanya. Drive towards the Thermal Springs and Monkey Island. We bought this tour because public transport does not go there. Cost $50 per nose. Quite an interesting tour, but you need to go yourself! If with a guide, then he will simply lead you through the mountains and let you take pictures. The most interesting thing there is that you need to buy an additional excursion on the spot, about 55 yushki, for a small mountain expedition, crossing rivers, swimming in a waterfall, etc. Nothing like this happened with our guide. To my question “where is the waterfall? ”, he simply replied that it was not the season and he was dry. Of course, he deceived, he was just too lazy to go there, since the excursion time was already coming to an end, the group was large, and therefore they took pictures for a long time, and again, someone had a srachka, someone had a sore.
Conclusion: With a hotel guide, the tour cost 335 yuan per person.
The tour is interesting, there is something to see.
Rating 4 (would lead to a waterfall, would be 5). Be sure to take a change of clothes with you, as you can get wet, you can leave your clothes on the bus.

Deer Turned Head Park Luhuitou

It is located close to our hotel, if you wish, you can walk, but all the time uphill. We took a rickshaw for 5 yushas. There are several ways to climb the mountain: on foot, by road train (the best option), and on trolleys backwards. You can go down only in the way that you went up, you cannot combine. The footpath, road trains and the lift are located in different parts of the foot of the mountain. By and large, where the rickshaw or taxi driver brings you, you will go up.
Entrance ticket: 40 yuan, including the ride on the road train.
When we left the park, we went to the place where the rickshaw dropped us off, sat down to another and returned for 7 yushek.
Conclusion: for two, the tour cost 5+7+80=92 yuan. The hotel guide does not offer this tour.
The tour is very interesting, as it offers a very beautiful view of Sanya, Sanya Bay and part of Dadonghai. We got great photos.

findings

If you are in doubt where it is better to go on vacation, choosing between Hainan and Thailand (Pattaya), then I definitely recommend Hainan to you. I was in Pattaya, and for me it is very uncomfortable at night, as it is very stuffy, unlike Hainan, where a cool breeze pulls from the sea at night. If you are interested in excursions and beach holidays, then Hainan, if nightlife, parties, Go-go Shows, then Pattaya!
All good rest!
