We arrived at 6 am and spent time in the lobby, then agreed at the reception about breakfast on the last day before departure, since we were flying at night. The staff communicates exclusively in Chinese, my year-long English courses were not useful)) But they do everything with a translator on their phone, I also recommend taking care. Also be prepared for a $100 refundable deposit upon move-in.
After breakfast, we were met by a guide from Selfie Travel at 8am. Helped with check-in and resolving the issue with Wi-Fi and an adapter for a Chinese outlet. At 16:30 we met with Vitaly from Selfie Travel, discussed everyday issues, then for two hours he tried to sell us tours. We didn't take anything because we didn't plan to. We don’t like group tours where you can’t walk at your own pace.
The room is not bad: comfortable bed. Wi-Fi in the room can be connected via WeChat. My Kazakh SIM card did not work, and after a while my Russian one was blocked.

Then the employee suggested connecting to a common open network. It doesn't work perfectly, but it works. You can text, but there is no way to call).
According to photographs and video blogs, there should be a work desk in the room, but we had an empty corner there.
There is a bathroom on the balcony. We tried it on the first day, everything is fine, but when used in watering can mode, water flows from the connection with the pipe. It’s good that we noticed right away when we filled the bath, otherwise we could have drowned someone).
A little more about the hotel itself: we live on the 18th floor overlooking the sea and the 2nd building, which is currently under renovation and is not occupied. The hotel lighting (which is written about on all websites about Hainan) does not work. We talked with other tourists, and it didn’t work last week either. The pool is open, but the water is cold. No pool bar, only water, soda and ice cream. Silence, no music. Other pools near other buildings are not working.
Room cleaning is normal: the first time we refused cleaning during the day, they changed the trash and gave us water. The next day, when we were gone all day, they changed the water, bed linen, towels, brushes and shower gels. There is a green golf cart from the hotel to the city. There is a beach immediately on the left, but it is wild, without sun loungers and cafes, stretching for half the city. We swam a couple of times. Within walking distance are supermarkets and shopping centers where you can find everything you need. The weather is good (December 2023): 22 at night and 29 during the day, all week. There was no rain.
We went to Dadonghai for 3 days, there are already lifeguards on the beach and you can rent sun loungers in a cafe.
Offtopic. For payment in stores: Alipay is accepted everywhere. You can simply download the application and link a card (not MIR). I have a Kaspi Visa, everything works fine, but I need internet. Your bank treats this as an online purchase. If you have limits or require confirmation via SMS, be prepared for this. I hardly used cash.

I didn't find any exchangers. To change dollars at the bank, you need to register (about half an hour). They say you can change it through a guide, but with a commission. In Alipay you can order a taxi from DiDi, the payment goes through normally. Alipay is not accepted on the bus, so you need small cash, for example, to get to Dadonghai you need 2 yuan, they don’t give change. It is also worth bringing cash for excursions; communication problems may arise.
