Chaos at the border
On July 11 of this year, he flew to Santiago for a subsequent flight to Easter Island. When checking documents, the customs officer (or whatever they call it) took my passport and driver's license and left somewhere. He returned about ten minutes later and asked to go with him. To my question - what's the matter? replied that it was a routine check. He led me to the police room and asked me to wait. Police officers with machine guns came out of this room, and through the translucent glass of the room it was clear that people were being brought in and fingerprinted... I sat for about ten minutes, after which this customs officer and policeman approached me. They began to find out the purpose of my arrival in Chile and whether I had friends in Santiago. I replied that I had already explained to the customs officer that today I had a tour of Santiago, and tomorrow I was flying to Easter Island. He also replied that it was my first time in Chile and I had no friends here. They left.
They came out again about ten minutes later and asked to show the tickets. I showed them a full set of tickets. They left again. They came out about five minutes later, escorted me to the customs post, where the customs officer, without even looking at my emigration card, which I filled out on the plane, stamped my passport and issued a visa.
In general, the situation for me was extremely unpleasant. These two saw that I had mostly Latin America in my passport, and I’m probably not listed in the Interpol database either. I don’t understand why a tourist (guest) had to get on his nerves and spoil the impression of the country? ! Here is such a Chilean "hospitality"...
And Easter Island is a fairy tale! ! !
