We were seated immediately upon arrival at 8 am at no extra charge, because. there were vacant rooms. But upon check-in, they demanded to block a deposit on the card at the rate of $ 100 per day per room for the services that we can use at the hotel (accommodation is cheaper). Nowhere is there information about such a deposit (neither on the hotel website, nor with the tour operator) and I didn’t have such an amount on my card.

Since our accommodation was paid for, we agreed that if we use paid services, I will pay everything in cash when we leave. The reception speaks English.
Location: 5 minutes walk to Copa beach. Opposite across the road there are inexpensive cafes with payment by weight, it is very convenient to go out for lunch. On the nearest streets there are supermarkets, pharmacies, a profitable exchange office to the right of the hotel on the corner after 1 intersection. In general, around a decent crowded area.
If you save a lot, you can walk to the Sugar Loaf (go to the opposite side of the street and to the left - in the opposite direction from the beach, through the tunnel, then to the right). By taxi directly from the hotel to the Sugar Loaf, it turned out to be 14 rials (about $ 3) - it takes 3-5 minutes to go without traffic jams.
It takes about 15 minutes to get to the metro (when leaving the hotel, turn left and left again and go straight through about 4 intersections until you see the entrance to the metro on the right - a white letter M on a blue background). The metro is convenient to travel to the center and to Ipanema, fast, not hot, but almost always crowded.
We also took a yellow taxi with a blue stripe (you can catch it anywhere), the prices are normal (boarding 5.8 rials, then on the meter), the meter should have fare 1 (if it's daytime) and 2 (if it's evening). Please note that there are taxis that accept only cards for payment (they have a sticker with the names of payment systems on the window). Taxi drivers do not speak English - we wrote the address where we needed to go on a piece of paper and showed it to the taxi driver. No one tried to deceive us - they didn’t drive in circles, they always gave the change correctly, only once at 11 in the morning they put tariff 2 on the meter - we just got out of the car and got into another taxi.
Meals: breakfasts are modest, no pickles, but not hungry (there were not enough meat dishes - there were none at all): cheese, ham, pineapples, bananas, watermelon, papaya, melon, oranges, fruit salad, muffins and buns, cereal, yogurt, bacon - fried to a state of brushwood, scramble eggs, boiled or fried eggs every other day, cheese and sausage sandwiches, sausages, occasionally meat balls, banana pancakes or waffles with chocolate every other day, pies, mini croissants, cheese buns, orange juice, tea, coffee, milk.
On the roof there is a bar (very small) and a swimming pool (also small) with a few sunbeds, as well as a gym with exercise machines.
Rooms: we had a standard - very small in area (I would say 9-10 sq. m), a small window overlooking the courtyard well and the window of the other wing of the hotel, the bathroom is small but normal (shower, sink, toilet with bidet ), towels 2 per person + 1 for feet, white, clean, hair dryer, shower gel, shampoo and liquid soap.
There is a TV in the room - flat (no Russian channels), a small table, a chair + a folding stool, a safe, a very small wardrobe (hardly fit together), a minibar (water, mini champagne, chips, mini versions of alcohol and some kind of bar - everything we did not use the fee). The bed is comfortable, the linen is clean (changed every 3 days or on request). Were removed in different ways (apparently depends on the maid and does not depend on the tip). The curtain on the window is dirty.
Wifi is free but blocks half of our websites.
Beach towels are issued to the left of the reception under the signature (you need to ask the porter, who usually stands somewhere nearby).
Beach: a very large sandy strip, a lot of people, especially on weekends. But on Ipanema (after 2 metro stops) it’s even more - there you can only walk along the water’s edge, because. all the sand is occupied. It is impossible to swim, because strong waves - you can jump on the waves, but be very careful - the current is addictive. The water is very cold in the morning and warms up in the evening. Cocktails, corn, cookies, various drinks, cigarettes, swimwear, etc. are constantly worn on the beach. etc. it’s terribly annoying - someone constantly climbs to you with their goods. I have been to many countries, but I have never seen such a "rampant" beach trade as on the Cope.
There are beach cafes along Atlantic Avenue - you can eat there if you are too lazy to go to a normal catering, the price is 35-50 rials for a lunch with beer, some play live music and sing.
There are no sun loungers; instead, umbrellas and folding chairs are rented. The price is 15 rials for an umbrella and, in my opinion, 10 for a chair. Umbrellas are simple beach umbrellas, which are simply stuck into the sand with a metal leg. If you take an umbrella or a chair, you can use the shower. On the sand, you can just lie on a towel everywhere, but it’s very hot and hard without an umbrella. The sun is very active (you can easily burn out in 20 minutes).
Before going to Brazil, we were scared that there was a lot of crime. We did not notice this, although we went on all excursions on our own and walked around the city. They behaved carefully, did not go out late at night, did not carry passports, large sums of money with them, and took pictures on the phone, not on the camera, but there were never any incidents.
Most of all, I did not like the smell of the toilet in the city (it stinks almost everywhere with urine and worse). There are a lot of homeless people, they sleep on mattresses and benches, they don’t particularly bother. The locals im adopted food.
The tour operator does not provide a transfer from the airport, so as not to overpay, we ordered a transfer to Kiwi with a fixed price - $ 23 per car. We were met with a sign in the arrivals area, escorted to the car (no one speaks Russian - only English) and the driver took us safely to the hotel (in the morning with traffic jams for 40 minutes). They made a 5% discount on the return transfer.
