If they say: "Why do you need a hotel without reviews? " Don't listen to anyone! This does not mean a priori that the hotel is bad - it means that tourists are either too lazy to write a review, or simply their hands do not reach the report (like mine, for example)))). On "Turpravda" I did not find a single report about the "Shipka" 3 * from the Bulgarian Sunny Beach, I just scraped a couple on the Internet. I took a chance! And... drank champagne.
LOCATION OF THE HOTEL. Located on the outskirts of Sunny Beach (closer to Varna). From Burgas airport, the transfer here lasts about half an hour (a minibus took me and three Muscovites, there was no accompanying guide, but I nestled in the front seat next to the driver - he turned out to be the best guide in the world! Conclusion: make friends with people)))). The main advantage of the hotel is the quietness! In the center of the party-going Slenchev Bryaga, there is constant hum, noise, music. I came to the room, as if at home, thumped in bed - with the balcony open, the sounds of the party are still audible, but they are completely muffled when the door is closed. At 24.00 music, loud cries of various barkers were ordered to stop throughout the Security Council. But you still can’t get away from the Slavs))) But they gravitated more towards the center of the Security Council.
TERRITORY OF THE HOTEL. Frankly small, comrades. If not to say that there is none. Parking for cars, a patch for the pool with a dozen sun loungers around. The garden, where the tables are in the "open" part of the Shipka restaurant, is small, but very green and cozy. As I noticed, hotels in Sunny Beach are very crowded, and their territories are reduced to zero - especially for those on the 2nd line.

ACCOMMODATION. I lived alone in a 2-star double (the hotel is positioned as 3 *, but half of the rooms are 2-star), there is more than enough space. The room will be too small for two. The difference between a 3-star room and a 2-star one: bigger, there is air conditioning, a telephone, a larger sanitary room (but with a hole in the floor, and the floor is very slippery - in a 2-star one there is a small square a la bathtub with sides), a balcony is worse ( high handrails, no table), a larger wardrobe and TV, there is a wall lamp and, most importantly, a picture on the wall))) But the floor is tile (I had a type of carpet in 2 *).
ROOM. Frankly - I was afraid of neglect in the "deuce". When I first came in, I was surprised: they didn’t mix anything up, did they settle correctly? Clean and tidy! Good repair. Of course, it's simple - without fireplaces and stained-glass windows))) But once again the truth is confirmed: the European "troika" in terms of grooming "jumps" over its constellar "relative" in Turkey and Egypt. New tiles in the bathroom. A small TV ("hung" on Bulgarian channels (mostly music) - why do I need Russian speakers in Bulgaria ?? ). The fridge is small - but just right for one (too small for two). Nice balcony - 2 chairs, a chair. When settling, I was upset: the sea is only in lateral vision on the left. She began to weave insidious plans to move to another room. But then I checked out the picture (especially the 11th floor! ): in the center - the SB entertainment center, on the right - a view of the city and mountains. A couple of days later I asked to look at a room with a sea view - it does not justify the hope: the mountains and the city are not visible, two hotels on the sides protrude ahead of the Shipka, narrowing the view of the sea.
AIR CONDITIONER AND PHONE. No. There was no need for air-conditioning, if it was a little hotter, the open balcony door managed.
PySy. By the way, the difference in price between 2* and 3* is about 1000 hryvnias ($125). I would advise taking 2 * - there is practically no difference in comfort with 3 *, and spend the saved money on excursions. There is a phone at the reception - call, the computer counts, you immediately pay.

AVAILABILITY OF SERVICES. Iron - no problem, ask at the reception. Massage chairs in the hall-- crumple the bones, bless you. Exchange with a normal rate. There is a mini-golf course (there was no time to play)))). Excursions can be booked at the hotel. I don't know about laundry. Lobby bar (did not go). Two elevators (the hotel has 11 floors), never got stuck))) In the lobby - WiFi (free? I didn’t even specify - on vacation I run from the computer, like from fire). Minus: if you go on an excursion, as dry rations they give out a store-bought waffle, a croissant and 0.5 of water, EVERYTHING. After the rations in Egypt, the locals are clearly a bit scarce.
FOOD/DRINKS. I took the package with breakfast only. Breakfasts are standard. Where should I list? Flakes - "cocoa" and simple (+ separately milk), sour milk (sour milk), boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, feta cheese, Dutch-style cheese, sausages, sometimes vermicelli with feta cheese (do not throw slippers! delicious! ) , 3 types of boiled sausages, cucumbers, tomatoes, traditional Shopska salad (cucumbers + tomatoes + feta cheese), fruits all the time, but sometimes they were not enough (grapes or watermelon), bread, buns, butter, jam. The tea is bad. I don't drink coffee, I don't appreciate it. 2 types of juices.
BEACH/SEA. Two steps to the beach - literally. I went out through the side "non-front" door of the hotel, passed the territory of the summer restaurant, crossed the asphalt strip (the local promenade, I can’t even name the road) - and already the beach. Out of habit, the abundance of umbrellas and sun loungers strained a little - like from Soviet beach films: rows, rows... a lot of sunbathers... sun loungers (7 levs daily) and umbrellas (7 levs daily). The sea is clean in the morning, but cool - and in the afternoon it is very warm and there are a lot of algae, but, they say, after August 15 this is the "law" - it was so. There were invasions of jellyfish. The beach is pretty clean. Gentle entry into the sea.
SWIMMING POOL. Masenky. But I have never taken a bath. They said that according to some kind of official agreement between the hotels, tourists from Shipka could also use their pools. Why is the pool when the sea is NEAR? )))
"POPULATION" OF THE HOTEL. Mixed, a lot of Bulgarians.

STAFF. So-so, to be honest. At the reception - girls with different characters, although you can make friends. The waitresses are clumsy, they are surprised when you ask the crumbs to be removed from the table after the previous tourist. Cleaning lady - smart girl: friendly, reaching out for communication. Cleaned daily (although I didn't tip often). Change of towels and bed-- no complaints. Although during the settlement I experienced a SHOCK: in a freshly prepared room they put a bow out of a dirty towel for me, I almost wiped myself with it. But then they explained to me: well, these are Bulgarians who do not attach importance to SUCH little things. Nothing was missing from the room, she even left her phone on charge, she didn’t even ask about the presence of a safe. The hotel guide (young, slightly impudent appearance and behavior) was interested in me only on the first day, when he purred about excursions. But the departure dates at the reception were on time, who flew out very early - the guide even went to the numbers, knocked on the door so as not to oversleep)))
RESTAURANTS IN THE AREA. Full. Recommendation: take only breakfast at the hotel (and even then, so that you don’t run somewhere to “eat” when you wake up in the morning). It's cheaper to eat on the outskirts. Is it worth repeating that the portions are AGROMAD? ! Very tasty food (and not expensive) in the hotel "open" restaurant + live music: every evening I went to listen to "Smokie" in live rehash))) + along the promenade (see below) - innumerable mini-snacks: a million types of burgers , hot dogs, french fries, CORN!! ! donuts, which are prepared right there, with you, pizza, potatoes with filling.
SPORT. We will keep silent))) "zombies" ran along the beach edge in the evening - but there were only a few of them)))
ANIMATION. To paraphrase a friend: "What kind of animation is in a Bulgarian hotel? Is it just the presence of Russian-speaking staff)))" On the Independence Day of Ukraine, compatriots staged night animation, singing the Ukrainian anthem to the whole district. I'm a patriot - but not on vacation and not at night)))

ENTERTAINMENT. Between the beach strip and the strip of hotels along the entire SB there is the already mentioned road, on both sides of which there are a million entertainments. Karaoke, "hammer the ball into a hole in the wall", all sorts of jump ropes ("put" in the mount - and squeal, fly in the air, performing "barrel", "dead loop" and te de))), tattoos and dreadlocks " saloons", spa fish that "nibble" the horny skin on the legs)) Cafes with TVs for football fans. Riding on chaises (in the evening we took a ride with flashlights and to the sound of bells around the city - blunder! )))). Discos in restaurants! (I have not been to any))))))))) - I fell down after the excursions). You can also shop on the promenade - "boutique" after "boutique"))) On the beach - water bikes and motorcycles (also with trailer mattresses where squealing tourists ride), windsurfing, "bananas". Oh, sea taxi from Nessebar to Sat! ! (especially adrenalin and entertains in a storm of 2 points, when you have a box with a fat swell (fish) in your hands, and you don’t know what to grab onto))) - for the swell, handrails or the heart)))). Excursions: of course, from the street (30-40% cheaper than in a hotel). The closer to the center of the SB is a street agency, the more expensive.
BUDGET. The tour package itself is around $750 (14 days / 15 nights, 2 "stars", 1 line, breakfasts, one in a "double") + about $550-600 for everything else (did not deny myself anything): dinners -dinners (from time to time with alcohol), excursions, snacks, tips, fruits, souvenirs, Bulgarian snacks and drinks home, small whims (such as: look at the rings of Saturn through a huge telescope), sweet ice and sweets from the supermarket).
THE MOST FUCKING NEGATIVE IMPRESSIONS. Did not have. Either I "have not seen the best" (c)))), or nothing can ruin my vacation. The service in the hotel restaurant was a little straining - it seems that the owner saved on labor force, the waitresses obviously did not have time. And they were also far from the concept of "service". But it was cool to watch when you ask them for something, and they, languorously, roll their eyes like: “Lord, when will this end” - they won’t play like that in any theater, I swear! ))) The “internal” restaurant is very small, tables with food are arranged very unsuccessfully - you need to stand in one general queue and stomp to the end, even if you don’t need some dish. Turn. There were "races" for food))) But the impression is "drawn out" by the "external", open to any tourist restaurant of the hotel - they cook sooo tasty, and the service is normal. If during breakfast there was not enough space in the "internal" restaurant - take plates and go under the canopy of trees, have breakfast in the fresh air))) Departure upset. Bulgarians who were not in a hurry brought us to the airport when the check-in began a long time ago. The airport itself, small and cramped, upset even more: stupidly, everyone goes to the heap - both those who have a plane in two hours, and those whose landing is about to begin, crush, and we have panic: there was an impression that the staff did not care whether we flew away or not, we had to trick (!! ) climb through the general queue in order to catch the landing.
THE MOST BRIGHT POSITIVE IMPRESSIONS. I LEARNED TO SWIM!!!!! ! Itself!! ! Here it is, the magical Black Sea!! ! And here - a solid relaaaks! No wonder they say that they are sent to Bulgaria to treat the nervous system. No one is in a hurry, even if they are late, and after a while you already take it for granted. I myself learned to be late here - it's soooo sweet))) Do nothing - HIGH. You come, pleasantly exhausted after the beach and the sea, to your room, grab a huge peach, then take a shower with pink Bulgarian soap, then fall into a cool bed with a huge nectarine in your hands, watch sweet summer Bulgarian pop music on TV. And then - lunch, entertainment, excursions, in the evening - hanging out, opening a new restaurant for yourself. Traveled with excursions almost all of Bulgaria: Plovdiv, Sofia, Bansko (ski resort high and deep in the mountains), Rila (where the famous monastery), Veliko Tarnovo, Pomorie, Sozopol, Burgas, Nessebar (3 times on my own). I did NOT go to Istanbul - a 2-day excursion seemed not enough, I will go separately. I also went on a jeep safari (with ATVs, archery and pneumatics, horseback riding), the show program "Bulgarian Village", in a variety show for the program "Khan's Tent". I tried everything I could from Bulgarian cuisine. After Bulgaria, I avoided scales - I was afraid))) For the first time in my life I tried lamb, mastic, and for the first time in my life a jellyfish grabbed me))) I threw a coin into the sea - but I will return here when I travel around at least half the globe) ))
