In Bulgaria, my daughter and I got out for the first time. To be honest, I liked it much more than in Turkey. The sun is softer, not "biting" as my daughter says, my clean, wide golden beaches, delicious simple food. . .
I chose a hotel for a long time, I doubted, but I never regretted that I chose Helena-2. The hotel is located in the northern part of the resort (closer to St. Vlas), right behind the pompous "Helena Resort", across a small road. We arrived early in the morning, at 10-30 we were already at the hotel. Fortunately, my fears that we would have to wait for the checkout time were not confirmed and we were immediately settled. We got a room on the first floor, which my daughter was incredibly happy about. Still, the pool is right a few steps from the door! The room is quite spacious, about 20 m2, the furniture is standard, but new (the hotel is only three years old), a large TV, an empty mini-bar, a large mirror on the wall... The bathroom has a very comfortable shower cabin, and the shower itself is hung on wall, and can be freely removed, which also pleased. In Turkey, our shower was tightly attached to the wall and it was a tangible problem to properly wash the child. The plumbing is all new, everything worked perfectly, the window in the bathroom was also handy, it’s always nice to go to the bathroom after a hot shower, to fresh air, so to speak. The room was cleaned every day, towels were changed every three days, linen was changed four or five times during the three weeks of rest. In front of the entrance to the room, as it were, a terrace, there is a table, two chairs and a large clothes dryer (this is only on the first floor, above are ordinary balconies). One of the main differences between Helena-2 and other treshkas is the presence of its absolutely closed territory. Our children moved freely around the yard, swam in the pool, played on their own. In Helena-2, the administrative and residential buildings are different buildings. The building, which houses the reception, restaurant, staff quarters, is located right on the road, and the building for guests is in the back of the courtyard, so that neither the noise from the roadway nor loud music is heard.
The restaurant is small. but very cozy. Some of the tables are inside the building, some are outdoors. This year Helena-2 worked on half board. The buffet was not very varied, but everything was VERY TASTY!! ! Breakfasts, as in other hotels, are quite standard, but if you don’t sleep for a long time, and come to the restaurant from 8 to 9 in the morning, you could try a freshly baked bannitsa and a delicious omelet. Dinners were just great! Everything is fresh, every day meat, chicken, soup, several types of side dishes (pilaf with chicken was especially delicious, all the children in the hotel ate it on both cheeks), vegetables, cakes, watermelon... No salads from what was not eaten for breakfast (as they often like to do in Turkey) was not in sight. At lunch, you could order the so-called "lunch of the day" - soup, main course, dessert. It cost 5 lev (2.5 euros). We once took the children, very tasty. In general, the prices in the hotel restaurant, if you order something from the menu, are more than reasonable. From July 1, live music plays at dinner in the restaurant (in July, the so-called high season begins in Bulgaria). My daughter and I somehow got out for lunch at a very nice restaurant near the Palace Hotel and were extremely disappointed: for some reason the meat was not chewed, the cutlets turned out to be very peppery, and the french fries were overdried. And we paid for five meals at Helena-2. We did not experiment anymore... Cafes in Nessebar are another matter !! ! Terraces hang right over the sea, everything is delicious and inexpensive.

The road to the sea took about 7 minutes. We went to the beach opposite the Helena Resort. By the way, in front of five-star hotels, the beaches are always clean, every evening they are carefully cleaned. We did not take sun loungers and an umbrella on the beach, we managed with our own umbrella and towels. This year on Sat sunbed + umbrella cost 7 euros per day. In three weeks, a decent amount would have come up... Yes, and it was nice to lie on the hot sand, and we had sunbeds in abundance near the pool, and completely free of charge.
In general, my daughter and I were very pleased with the hotel. Completely forgot! I was pleasantly surprised that despite the fact that the hotel opened in 2007, i. e. brand new, the rooms do not use the "key to light" card system so beloved by Turkish hotels! We calmly left the air conditioner on, closed the room and handed over the key to the reception, and no one ever turned off the air conditioner. The staff is very friendly, willing to fulfill all requests and answer questions.
Animation in Saint Vlas
This message is for all those who travel to Sunny Beach to relax with children. Every Sunday, in the amphitheater of St. Vlas, at 20-00 there is a FREE animation for children. The first time we got completely by accident, the next Sunday we went purposefully, to the top. We watched a magnificent performance with trained parrots, then there was a mini-disco for children with a clown, children could paint a plaster figure on their own and take it as a keepsake, etc.... You need to take bus route 8 or 5, or any minibus , which goes towards St. Vlas and ask the conductor to stop in front of the church (by the way, the church is beautiful). Get off the bus, immediately go down the road sharply down and then straight ahead all the time. Walk for five minutes. . .
