While planning a vacation for a family with two children in 2019, I had several criteria when choosing a hotel: proximity to the sea, the mandatory availability of apartments with a kitchen, the presence of a pool near the hotel, and an acceptable price. By all these criteria, I liked Briz Beach apart. We rested in the second decade of August.
The hotel is located on the first coastline. Architecturally, the hotel is made in the form of a semicircle with a convex side towards the coast. Between the hotel and the beach is a pedestrian street, where there are various shops, bars and cafes. The hotel has 6 floors according to our classification or 5 residential floors, starting from the 2nd floor. In fact, the building houses two hotels - this is the Sea Briz and the aparthotel Briz Beach itself. At the entrance, there are two reception desks on both sides: Sea Briz on the right, Briz Beach on the left. Naturally administrators are different. The hall is small with set sofas. Also in the hall there is a massage room, an elevator, a toilet, a luggage room and an exit to the restaurant. The elevator in the hotel is quite fast.
They settled us on the fourth floor, room. 413a. The purchase of the tour included a one-bedroom apartment with a view of the park. Well, with a view, of course, the hoteliers, as always, were cunning. The view of the park implies a view of the hotel parking lot, on the right was visible part of the pool of the neighboring hotel, its fence, in front of which several trees grew. On the left, a view of the neighboring rooms and part of the street with hotels, since, as I already said, the architecture of the hotel resembles a semicircle, and the park side is concave. Well, it's not all that important unless you're just going to spend your entire holiday sitting on the balcony. In addition, the park side is much quieter than from the sea side, because. the promenade is full of night bars and clubs that are open until 4 in the morning, and the music sounds quite loud and can be heard even through the closed balcony.

As for the number itself, a little trick was revealed here. One-bedroom apartments mean two rooms, one of which is a bedroom, the second is a living room. The room we got had a bedroom without windows, ie. one, rather large room, divided by a plasterboard partition into two parts, between which there were sliding doors. Like this! Although the other rooms had a normal layout and there were windows in every room. I managed to peep this while walking along the corridor and tactlessly staring at the open doors while they were being cleaned. The equipment of the room was pretty bad. I wouldn't say great, but certainly not the worst.
So, the front door has an electronic lock, it opens with an electronic key. There is a small corridor from the front door, immediately to the right side there is a slot where you need to insert an electronic key in order for electricity to appear. Fortunately, the refrigerator is not powered through a common power supply system from an electronic key. All other sockets, appliances and switches will only work if the key is in the slot. Further on the right side is the entrance to the combined bathroom. Plumbing in good condition, tiles on the floor and walls, hair dryer on the wall. The shower cabin is a tiled tray and bounded by glass sliding doors. We did not use hotel shampoos and gels. Towels were changed every three days.
The first room, combined with the kitchen, is quite large. It housed two ottomans, equipped with cushions and removable back cushions. Two ottomans were located at an angle to each other and a corner sofa was obtained. We quickly arranged them parallel to each other and got a double bed. There was also a dining table with four chairs, cabinet furniture in the form of a bedside table with a TV and wall cabinets, a 22-inch TV, and air conditioning. In the kitchen area there was a refrigerator, an electric stove, a sink. Appliances included a kettle, microwave and toaster. The dishes were worse: cups, saucers, glasses, only deep plates (as if potential guests were obsessed with soup), a frying pan and one saucepan for 3 liters.
There was plenty of cutlery, a ladle, a spatula, an opener. The trash was taken out every day. Cleaning was also daily. We left tips every day, but the staff took them only on the days when the sheets or towels were changed. The bedroom had the same two ottomans (made up in the form of a double bed), a wardrobe with hangers, which were few, a safe, two dressing tables and two bedside tables. There was no air conditioning. The bedroom was quite stuffy, so we never closed the doors. The lights and chandeliers in the room had energy saving light bulbs, quite dim. Not all fixtures and not all chandelier sockets had lamps. The furniture is not shabby, the appearance of the furniture and the interior looks good.

Internet: the hotel Internet could not be used. There was a piece of paper in the room with the name and password for 7 days. But it was not possible to connect, it constantly gave an error. Yes, we were not very eager. Upon arrival at the airport, we bought a Telenor 15 GB sim card for 15 days with 4g. It costs 15 lev. Enough for the rest.
Audibility in the rooms is excellent, i. e. absolutely no soundproofing. You can hear everything that happens in the corridor and in neighboring rooms. A little overshadowed our stay in the first days of two German tourists from the next room. The first night we were woken up by a terrible noise. At first it seemed to me that a cartoon about Woody the woodpecker was turned on in the next room, then I realized that the sounds were natural and were made by a drunk person. Noise, uproar, constantly dropping something, moreover from furniture, shouting, singing songs. For 2 hours we listened to the chorus of the same song. Having tried to reason with the crazy neighbors and even quarreled with them (very strongly, using special terms), I did not get any result at all, I went down to the reception to complain. There I was met by a boy of about twenty, who, smiling, listened to me, dialed some number, mumbled something, hung up, shrugged his shoulders. In general, I realized that he would not help me. After six in the morning, the neighbors shut up.
In the morning I went down to the reception, there was already another girl. She asked me what I want. I said that if the farce of the previous night repeats itself, I will call the police myself. Hearing this, she turned away, losing all interest in me and pretending that she had completely forgotten Russian and English. On the evening of the second day, the night shift boy was in the hotel lobby and, what is most interesting, after waiting for my neighbors, he left with them along the evening promenade. This explained everything.
The third meeting with the neighbors took place in the corridor, when I was returning to the room with the child, and they were leaving theirs. Going to the meeting and seeing me, they put their hands in their pockets, made faces, and occupied the whole corridor together in a waddle, leaning against us. Well, here, I have already bent right in the face of a three-story Russian, making an indefinite gesture towards the lower part of the torso of the nearest one....But we are civilized people, although we grew up on the streets in difficult times for our Motherland. The rest of the nights we slept peacefully.

The pool at the hotel turned out to be quite small, as was the area around the pool. There are few sunbeds, constantly busy, for those who were lucky enough to wake up earlier than others. Therefore, we always went to the sea, in fact, for this we came. For two sun loungers and an umbrella, we paid 27 lev (for comparison, in Larnaca in the second decade of May it cost 8 euros).
We did not like the restaurant in the hotel for its service. In principle, they cook there no worse than in other places, the price is even a little cheaper than in other cafes. We visited it twice. The second time, after sitting for more than 15 minutes, they didn’t even bring us a menu, although the waitress was spinning around. There weren't many visitors, only two tables were occupied. It is obvious that it is useless to wait for the tram there, we got up and went to another cafe. We didn't go there anymore. Entering the hotel, we saw that the restaurant was never busy, but this is not surprising.
Aparthotel Briz Beach apart (I can’t say anything about Sea Briz), in principle, it’s not bad enough, it justifies its C mark: good location, proximity to the sea and other resort infrastructure, good interior and renovated rooms. Soundproofing leaves much to be desired.
