The whole truth about Bulgaria
Very often recently, travel agencies and tour operators sending tourists on vacation to a particular country do not provide complete information about all the possible situations that may arise abroad. Here is one such situation I want to talk about. At the end of the summer, I had the opportunity to relax for a week in Bulgaria, at the Golden Sands resort. I rested with my mother. When buying a ticket at the Neustravel travel agency (Kyiv), I warned that I needed a hotel closer to the sea. As a result: we lived in the Diana 3 * hotel, which was located 20 minutes from the sea, but located high on the mountain, so for older people (such as my mother (70 years old), climbing uphill was a test for strength, at least 2 times a day). Meals at the hotel are terribly monotonous, and meager breakfasts: eggs, sausage and cheese, are so tired that Ukrainian lard and borscht at the end of the week just dreamed of. Rooms are average. But what most of all discouraged any desire from revisiting a country like Bulgaria was the attitude of the local people. Most hotels in Golden Sands do not have their own beach. It would seem that this is not a problem: the beach is municipal - relax wherever you want. But this is where it turned out to be a problem. Directly opposite the main entrance to the Golden Sands beach, located behind the Scandinavian cafe, there is a rental office for sunbeds and beach umbrellas. And right there, for the first time, we encountered what a boorish attitude of beach workers towards us - Ukrainians. In addition to the words "cattle", "freaks" and "trash" we have not heard anything good from them. It's a shame when abroad you feel powerless and unprotected. It is unfortunate that such an attitude towards Ukrainians has a negative impact on the image of the resort itself and the country. Henceforth, I will never advise any of my friends and acquaintances to rest in Bulgaria, especially in the Golden Sands resort.
