Traveled with my wife in January-February 2011. I really liked the resort. In my opinion, the value for money here is excellent. Bansko resort is relatively young, the equipment is new. There are almost no yokes left in the main chair. A ski pass is not cheap, it costs about 200 euros for 6 days, along with equipment rental, if you take it immediately for 6 days. it will be cheaper, but I would not do it. if you get tired, or something with health, etc. then the ski pass will disappear, and against this background, the savings are questionable. Another minus of the resort is in the queues for the gondola on weekends and holidays, you can stand for about an hour, but when such peak dates, the Bulgarians launch free minibuses in parallel and the situation is a little bit discharged. The 4 * hotel pulls unambiguously. The rooms are clean, cleaned on time. Sauna, swimming pool, WI-FI in the lobby and internet bar, transfer from the hotel to the gondola and back free of charge. For breakfast (buffet) the assortment is quite wide, but monotonous.
In general, you don’t have to worry about food in Bansko - an incredible amount of mehans, the cuisine is very tasty - Bulgarians are scrupulous about food. But the best part is the prices! On average, you can have a good dinner with a salad, side dish, meat, wine and dessert for 50 leva together (about 10-12 euros per person). I didn’t like the kitchen on the mountain - fast food at restaurant prices (it’s understandable), on the mountain it is desirable to be selective about food.
We are going there this year.
