We flew through Thessaloniki - at first the idea seemed strange, but for the sake of obtaining a Greek multi-visa, we decided to take a chance, and the tour operator is well-known, so there should not have been any unpleasant surprises. In the end, in terms of the road - everything went well. We were met at the airport, put on the bus and after 3-4 hours (with stops) we were already there. Since we are not very experienced skiers yet, we don’t have our own equipment. In principle, there were no problems with this - everything was rented on the spot, and at prices much lower than ours. The hotel was chosen in the center of Bansko - Royal Towers 4 *. Location is a huge plus for this hotel! We were all the time in the very center of the party and the ski lift was also very close, so we managed to avoid the queue, which was impressive, especially closer to 12. Apparently, the people got enough sleep and went for a ride). I liked the hotel in general. On the day of arrival, however, the water was not quite hot, or something very warm - this option did not suit me, so we turned to the reception - there were no more problems with water. Perhaps this was the only negative moment during our stay. In terms of food, only breakfast was taken. Since we lived in the very center, the choice of local taverns (mehan) and cafes in the immediate vicinity did not allow me to lose weight). We went to the sauna to warm up - for free, there is also a swimming pool, a jacuzzi, a gym (we didn’t use it, so I can’t say about the quality of the simulators). By the way, we still had a small kitchenette in the room, but somehow we didn’t feel like cooking, because in Bulgaria you can eat very tasty and cheap in taverns, but maybe this information will be useful to someone. Yes, the hotel catches wi-fi everywhere, and the signal is very decent. This was important to the husband, since from time to time he had to deal with work issues. A couple of times we also went to the skating rink - childhood is immediately remembered! We had a lot of fun, especially the first time, when there were not very many people on the rink. Another time, a bunch of people, and especially kids, strained a little - all the time they were afraid to fall on some kid. Because I'm also a mediocre figure skater. On the way back, we spent the last night in Thessaloniki, in the evening we still managed to take a little walk (to the center we took a taxi for 6 euros), although it was somehow damp and chilly. We lived at the Grand Hotel Palace - quite normal, dinner was delicious, and breakfast too. It's good to stay for 1-2 nights. The flight went without delay both there and back - which was very pleasing, because we did not want to run into problems at the end of our excellent holiday. So we liked everything, now we advise our friends. This winter we decided to go all the same to warmer climes. So maybe next again in Bansko, we'll see)

We stayed at the hotel from 01/03/2012. It was a surprise for me that the entire infrastructure of the hotel is located in different places, to get to the spa, reception, restaurant, you need to leave your building and walk along the street about 300 meters. dogs barked at night (one was tied, the rest came to visit her) They laughed at our complaints at the reception and said that the dogs had run away, no problem.

The room itself is huge, on the day of arrival, and we arrived at 11 pm, it was a pleasant surprise that there was a blockage in the shower and the absence of a hair dryer. My husband went to the reception, they gave a hair dryer. elementary hangers.
Cleaning was almost not observed for 3 days, except for washed cups and replacing garbage bags, then towels were changed every day and, judging by the rag forgotten on the table, they wiped the dust.
The spa is quite decent, we went to the sauna and swam in the pool for two days, until we saw how people in street shoes (although there are very good changing rooms with a shower, hairdryer and lockers) walked right along the side. In general, some people need to be controlled, what is not being done .
The food is good, everything is edible and there is a choice.
A huge plus of the hotel is its proximity to the hill, I think that you can put up with the rest.

And the next day they robbed us! 4 more rooms were robbed along with our number. And the next day, 3 English rooms were robbed. We met them at the police. The administration at first promised compensation in the form of ski passes and dinners, but a day after going to the police (which takes a whole day), they left in complete denial. After that, we turned to the tour operator and we were moved to another hotel. In comparison: the new hotel had 4 stars and then we realized a huge difference!
The proximity of the hotel to the ski lift does not give it any advantage, because. walk from it. And from other hotels that are located further away, there are free minibuses that deliver from the door of the hotel to the ski lifts themselves!
Hotels located farther from the mountain care more about their guests. At least we thought so.

Well, in a word, do not complain! I would also like to note that in the room, in addition to this, there was a TV set with a DVD player, a hair dryer! This hotel is located very close to the mountain! This is just a huge plus for this hotel! If other hotels depended on buses that took them to the mountain, then we did not depend on anything, and went to the mountain when we wanted to! For this I put 6+! The mountains themselves are amazing! The tracks are all well-groomed, the snow groomers work all night, the ski lifts are also all brand new, there were no queues anywhere! In a word, the mountains there are suuuuuper !!! ! On the mountain, we basically didn’t have dinner, our head didn’t hurt! The first three days in the evening we went to Mehany on the main street! Rip off complete! The lower the Mehana, the cheaper it is 2 times! But then we prepared everything ourselves! Bought from the store and love it! We will definitely go to Bulgaria next year! To the same place! Ride! You will not regret!!! ! ))))))
