How things have changed
Just arrived from Albena, hotel "Camellia". In connection with the bankruptcy of Bulgarian Vip Tours on the 23rd, the administrator said - pay us 650 leva (about 320 euros) for accommodation. I carefully sent her on a hiking tour of the sights, called my tour operator and they left me behind forever. As a resort - Albena has become worse than in 2006 and earlier years. The owners of the resort launched car tourists from Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, and Poland there. Everything is crammed with cars, sidewalks, playgrounds near hotels. Inexpensive hotels have become like inns, respect for tourists has fallen, foreigners, for the most part, are still "holding the line" in not the cheapest hotels, but soon, apparently, they will be squeezed out of there. Bulgarians, Romanians are good people..... but rest next to them is more like a tour of the gypsy camp. Beaches used to be sifted by special vehicles, now only bags of garbage are taken away. Beach areas free from umbrellas are strewn with cigarette butts (mostly locals smoke). Invariably, only the sea... it is difficult to spoil it with anything.
