Brussels
The bus slowly left the border with Belgium Aachen. There was no noticeable change in the landscapes, but the houses gradually changed and it was already clear that this was no longer Germany. The first stop in Brussels is the Atomimum. All fountains are working, the weather is beautiful, as is the building itself, replicated as a symbol of Brussels. They didn’t go to Europe in miniature because they had already visited several of these parks. Unexpectedly, the guide suggested visiting the cemetery. It turned out to be a cemetery in Laeken with the famous Thinker by Rodin. Here is the tomb of the royal house and the royal family lives nearby. We passed by the Chinese Pavilion and the Japanese Tower. Looks prettier in the photos. Further traveled on foot from the Royal Palace. Immediately struck by the presence of a huge amount of garbage and dirt. Friday and everyone is resting, or they have a holiday. The guide moves quickly through the intricate streets, pouring out the names of architects and dates. It is impossible to remember everything. I was struck by the Cathedral, the Stock Exchange building, and of course the Grand Place. All as if from stone carved Brussels lace, a little nailed down by time. In the King's House we saw an exhibition of outfits for Maneke Pis, and then we visited him himself. The boy was not at all big, and even dressed up in a uniform. Near the street with a lot of chocolate shops. It's impossible to hold on. Godiva and Leonidas, a huge strawberry in Godiva is something. Carne of five pieces 5 euros, and of course the famous waffles with whipped cream and strawberries. We visited the covered shopping galleries of St. Hubert, bought women's gloves of awesome purple color and set off to look for the Church of Our Lady of Chapelle, where Bruegel is buried. But, alas, it is very far away and we decide to leave this visit for the next, longer trip. We sit down in a cafe, order a fish plateau and separately mussels. They are brought in the likeness of yellow pans. Slow promenade back to the Grand Place and goodbye Brussels. Despite the presence of a certain disorder in the city itself, we decided that we would definitely return to Belgium and see not only the young capital of the united Europe, but also other cities.
