We rested at the Neuhaus 4 * hotel, the vacation was organized by the Novella Tour travel agency, the trip and organization were super! The hotel and rooms were chosen very carefully for us, in accordance with all our wishes and the wishes of our friends, the room fully corresponded to what we wanted, the organization was on top - everything was fast, high quality and very friendly. The cost of the trip offered by this travel agency for this hotel turned out to be lower than all the others. Many thanks to the Novella Tour team!
OUR HOTEL
An excellent 4-star hotel, we had breakfast and a delicious dinner included, which made us very happy, because in other restaurants and cafes in the valley it was not as tasty as ours.
We dined on the mountain, the average bill for 2 adults and a child is 30 euros FOR LUNCH (soups, pasta) per family. The cheapest of the second courses is pasta 7.20 euros. The most delicious cafe is on Ahorn, right by the training mountain. The portions were not very large for me - not enough for two.
Our hotel was perfectly located - near the railway station and 7 minutes walk from the ski lift, the bus stop is nearby. They went by bus in uniforms, without boots and skis - they walked.
The hotel has a good free pool and sauna, billiards, bowling alley 3 lanes - paid, but inexpensive for 10 euros per evening did not play enough
The child was pleased with a large children's room with a 2-storey wooden house, slides, ladders, there is a climbing wall for children, various toys. The hotel is friendly to children, although the bartender looked sideways with displeasure when our children were spinning on the bar stools, unable to stand it left; , we stopped this entertainment.
Russians are treated well, the waiters in the hotel restaurant taught Russian, asked them to speak Russian and translate, it was very entertaining, by the end of our stay there was already a result! Drinks are not included in dinner, dinner consists of a salad bar, 3 hot dishes to choose from, snacks, cakes, ice cream, it’s really impossible to eat everything! Beer 3.5 euros, juice 2.5 euros, glass of water 1 euro, tea 3 euros, something like that…
Every evening from 19-00 to 24-00 there was live music, singing, playing the violin, beautiful!
Very good hotel RECOMMENDED!
Attention! The hotel has several categories of rooms, we were placed in the Grundberg room, these are rooms in the main building, which is very valuable, a swimming pool, a restaurant and everything else in this building. The view from them is on the mountains, ski lifts, and not on the cows! We went down to the Spa right in bathrobes, bathrobe - 4 euros per week. Grundberg rooms are large 30-35m2, with a dining area - table, sofa or chairs. The room has a double bed and a single bed - this is another sofa.
There are rooms in the add. The Landhouse building is cheaper and simpler, when we were at the reception, people swore at the reception that they did not know about it, but alas ...the hotel is full, no one will relocate you. Once again, many thanks to the Novella Tour travel agency, they found out everything, figured it out, and booked good rooms for us, and the rest turned out to be excellent, which is very important, everything is made up of little things. They even sent me the layout of the room by mail; . In 2 other travel agencies that we contacted, we didn’t even begin to find out what rooms and how they differ, they just have rooms (Landhouse) they say, but there are apartments and that’s it ...I read about this building in the reviews, and we saw tourists who were very disappointed. We and our friends recommend the responsible travel agency Novella tour.
FOOD IN THE CITY
In the restaurants of the city and cafes, you can rarely find a menu in Russian or a waiter who speaks Russian.
Of all the restaurants, I liked the corner near the station, house number 197a, there is a Russian menu and delicious food, the bill for 2 adults and a child was 60 euros - for soup, for the second and beer - this is inexpensive for Mayrhofen ...
It is interesting that there are no houses tied to the streets in the valley, the house numbers are not repeated, so it is very convenient.
On the main street there is a cafe with strudel, tea and pastries, very tasty, located opposite the store and rental INTERSPORT, it is known to everyone. The price for a piece is 3 euros.
We were in the Mama Mia pizzeria, it is advised in the reviews, but the pizza is not tasty, we didn’t like it, it’s impossible to eat, hard burnt, don’t order ...
SKI PASS and OTHER.
Now, at prices, the ski pass is 184 euros per person, the child is free (we have a 6 year old). It is distributed on the railway, lifts and buses, the entrance to the bus is free, if you DO NOT go uphill, you can DO NOT buy. Riding the bus without a ski pass is easy.
Spar and billa shops - prices are not high as in Moscow and lower, they have a lot of promotions, there is a culinary department. You can not buy water, they drink it from the tap. We drank and children, no problem. The city has a pharmacy and a hospital.
TOURS
We visited 2 excursions
- the first interesting Schnapps after Schnapps is an Austrian moonshine, it doesn’t take long to get to the moonshine - 20 minutes, by bus, to a private schnapps factory, where you will be treated to schnapps and snacks, and even sing .
- Another excursion that we visited was to the castles - it is for the whole day from 8-21 hours. The rest of the excursions to Munich, shopping, to Venice, Vienna, etc. are very far away, we did not go.
Skiing in Austria, in our opinion, is not much different from Slovakia, for example. The weather in January was +9 and dropped to -11 by the time we left.
It was annoying that you need to climb the lifts every time and go to them by bus, as it turned out in practice, buses do not run often, not every 5 minutes, as they say, but every 20-30 minutes, once they waited for a bus for 50 minutes ! ! ! , then we went with the children on foot in boots and with skis, it is difficult to go, because the road goes uphill, there are bumps. Back from the mountain, you can also go down only on the lift! And it closes at 17-00, if you didn’t have time to get to the main lift and go down to the city, then you stay on the mountain, they give you a sleeping bag, and you sleep in a snow house - made of natural snow, and it costs 100 euros; .
Shops close at 17-18 hours, and then nothing works except Billa and Spar, these are small shops that seem to work until 19-00. At night, only shops at gas stations work, there are 2 of them. But it's much more expensive there.
I want to wish a good rest to everyone who is going to this town, but do not expect something magical from it, just a nice place, a village; with small streets, the whole town I walked along the main street in 40 minutes at a fast pace. If you don't ski and the hotel doesn't have a pool, bowling alley, restaurant, bar, and we also had live music; then you will be bored there. For example, I did not find where to go in the evening with my family, well, if not to a bar with dancing on the tables (there is one at the Penken lift). Evenings were spent in our room with our good friends.
