Summer romance: Austria and Switzerland (part 5)
Day 9. It's getting colder. The swan has an unscheduled breakfast. Salzburg. Austrian wine.
Morning. Lake. Birds in flood trills tend to outdo each other. Austrian music. Air +12. Courage is only enough to get your feet wet in the lake. Who then knew that, under certain conditions, courage increases exponentially)))
Promenade along the coast. Private houses. Piers. Sun loungers. Disciplined Europeans, even on vacation, start their day with a morning jog. Everyone greets and smiles. My body has all the signs of oxygen poisoning))) My head is suspiciously spinning. The lungs are trying to find the familiar elements of the periodic table in the inhaled air. The mountains. Lake. Breakfast.
In the lobby of the hotel, all tourists are met by the chief of visitors))) Elvis. He reclines in a businesslike way on the rug by the door and allows himself to be ruffled on the back of the neck. Charming. Unperturbed, like a real Austrian)))
And on the lake, another Austrian is winding circles near the shore. White Swan. People are not afraid. Swims very close. Eats from hand. How many vivid emotions! Both I and the swan))) The feathered miracle does not control the moment when the bread ends and my hand begins - therefore we compete with it in the speed of reaction)))) My loss is accompanied by a disgruntled hiss of a handsome white man - of course, chewing my finger is not right delicious, like tasting local bread)))
Bus. Alps. Alps! ! Alps!!! ! Salzburg. Already been in the city. At night and drunk))) When I traveled to Christmas markets. Now I'm going to watch during the day and sober)))
Salzburg. Surprisingly harmonious city. Tourist? Yes. But that doesn't spoil it. Signboards. Streets. Views of the fortress from any point. Contemporary art on the streets. The narrowest house Horse-drawn carriages in traffic jams. And Mozart. He is everywhere. Mozart Square. Mozart's house. Mozart sweets. By the way, they are much tastier than the Viennese counterpart. And much more expensive
The heart of the Old Town and one of the main attractions of Salzburg is the Cathedral of St. Ruprecht. Famous for the presence of seven (!!! ) active organs and the font in which Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was baptized.
An interesting optical illusion can be observed if you stand in front of the entrance to the cathedral and slowly approach it. Keep a close eye on the column of St. Mary, which stands in the Cathedral Square, and the angels with the crown on the cathedral. At one point, the crown will smoothly fall right on Mary's head.
Mirabell Park. There lived the Archbishop of Salzburg, Wolf Dietrich von Reitenau. And although he was a person of the church, and according to the church rules of that time it was not supposed to have beloved women, Wolf Dietrich was above the laws. In 1606, on his orders, a luxurious palace was built as a gift to the lady of the heart, Solomeya. The embittered beauty, in a fit of gratitude, gives birth to 15 (fifteen!!! ) children to the archbishop. Only 10 survived, but this was a very good result by the standards of that time.
The park itself is laid out in the classical form of baroque park architecture. Wisterias gently braid the walls of buildings with a lilac carpet. Flowerbeds. Fountains. Vases. Sculptures. Dwarf garden. Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria did not like these dwarfs so much when he lived in Mirabell Castle that he even wanted to destroy them. As a result, many of the sculptures were sold, and then it took a lot of effort to return them to their place.
According to legend, each of the 12 dwarfs gives something to the one who rubs it. Favorite tourist attraction ))) Rub. Guess. Wait for fulfillment. We decided to try Austrian wine. We went to the store, bought it, tasted it in the evening. That's how dwarfs work. Everything came true)))
Until then, we're walking slowly. We enjoy and absorb. beauty. Energy. City music. We catch his mood. His rhythm. Let's get into its harmony. My city. Like. Really like. I already want to go back. . .
Bus. Alps. Hotel. Lake. Balcony. Plaid. Wine. Strawberry. I love Austria
Day 10. Fog. Minimundus Park. Klagenfurt. Have you bathed in drinking water? )))
Sunrise passed without me))) The fog covered the entire surrounding landscape with a dense veil. Nothing is visible at arm's length. Lake in the haze. I'm walking. I inhale. Damp. It's cold oooo))))
Minimundus Park. The world in miniature. As I understand it, it is a matter of honor for every country to have such a park. You can have more than one))) Regarding such parks, I breathe evenly. If it hadn't been included in the program, it would have been easy to skip it. Having visited once, then it’s just funny to compare what you see in different places.
The sun is peeking out. We are considering. We crowd at the miniatures. Favorite photo "me and the monument. " In huge quantities. At each monument))) Fun))) I was touched by a wonderful uncle sitting on pebbles and taking pictures of everyone passing by. Philanthropist? You didn't guess))) I turned out to be the staff photographer of the park. At the exit, you can buy your photo portrait with the park logo. Asking price around 5 euros
Klagenfurt. A city in southern Austria, the capital of the federal state of Carinthia. Very compact. The Old Town has the shape of a rectangle formed between the Main, Old and New squares.
On New Square is the most famous of the local fountains - the Dragon Fountain. Created in honor of the legendary hero who defeated the cannibal dragon that lived in the waters of the Wö rthersee. The Town Hall of the end of the 16th century is also located on the square. There is an information center in the Town Hall.
On one of the squares, on paving stones, the coat of arms of Klagerfurt is laid out, and around the coats of arms of the sister cities. Our Chernivtsi, whose name is written in English letters, and Dushanbe, whose name is written in Russian, lit up. Such is the linguistic paradox)))
Landhaus is a Renaissance masterpiece. Now here is the modern seat of the government of Carinthia. The most precious part of the Landhaus is the large armorial hall, on the walls of which 665 historical coats of arms of Carinthia and its rulers are depicted.
I really wanted to get to the Pyramidnkogel observation tower. It was built in the 60s. The height of the tower itself is 54 meters, but offers a view from 900 meters to the panorama of valleys, mountains and lakes. Theoretically, a bus goes there, but the guide says that you can only get to the tower by taxi. And the main thing is that it is a long time and we will not invest in our free time. Another notch for the future - where I want to go)))
We go to the most famous local brewery. At least we will have time to taste the beer))) I really liked the beer !!! ! Deliciousoooooo)))
We return to the hotel. We return very early. I remember the advertising slogan of the Carinthian lakes - have you swum in drinking water? I understand that you need to swim))) The air is stable +12. I can only guess about the temperature of the water.
In ordinary life, I open the swimming season in the summer, when the water becomes like fresh milk. Merzlyachka I))) But here is a special case. I want to get emotions. Bright. Real. I want to indulge in positivity. And the water does wonders! Especially cold))) I recommend. An effective method
Walk along the lake. Sunset. Plaid. Wine. Peaches. I already love Austria
