In January and March 2014, with my family (two adults and a child), as well as five of my friends, we rested in the Apartment Aurora (Oesterreich, Bad Hofgastein, Kirchenplatz 8). This is not the first time my friends and I have stayed at this hotel, we have been going here for three years. Due to the convenient location and relatively low price, fairly spacious rooms, as well as excellent skiing (which, of course, is not the merit of the hotel), we never paid attention to the seemingly minor shortcomings of the Aurora, namely:
1. the rooms were not cleaned during the entire stay (two weeks!!! );
2. bed linen (two weeks!!! ) was not changed;
3. bath, hand and kitchen towels were not changed (to replace the towels, they must be thrown out into the corridor, maybe they will be changed, but not the fact that on the same day and in the same quantity);
4. the rooms are equipped with cheap, partially broken furniture; it is almost impossible to sleep on sofas that are positioned as sleeping places;
5. I had to take out the garbage myself into the corridor, where it had been for several days!
I'm not talking about such trifles as the lack of toilet paper, shampoo and soap (we bought everything on our own nearby in DM), the remoteness of the parking lot, and the lack of staff at the Reception.
In other words, the level of "Aurora" clearly does not correspond to the declared four stars!!!
And most importantly!!!
The hotel staff chimes with room categories and prices. We were charged more than what was indicated in the booking sheet, by 24 euros per day, for the entire period - by 264 euros. I had to call the police, which, however, did not solve anything. Now I have sent statements about possible fraud to all law enforcement and regulatory authorities in Austria.
In case you are unlucky and you still find yourself in the Aurora, CHECK THE BILLS CAREFULLY before paying, demand (if anyone!!! ) cleaning and replacement of towels.
