Not a fountain!
So we got to Austria. I wanted to compare with Italy, Bulgaria and other ski resorts. Due to the fact that we had a large company, families, singles, plus children, were faced with a lack of availability of hotel rooms! Not everything is so simple! We were looking for one 3-bed room, three 2-bed rooms and two single rooms at the same time! Plus breakfast and dinner! I must say right away that we organized this trip ourselves, since most of them already had visas, tickets were bought in advance (Wizz Air from Donetsk)! Many cities dropped out because of this problem, they found the Ski Lodge Jaktman hotel in Bad Gastein. It turned out that we occupied this hotel with the whole company! Family hotel, owned by a Swedish family. The owner cooks himself (quite professionally and tasty, although he is a financier by education). The rooms are quite spacious, they had everything you need. The only negative is that the temperature in their room is 18 degrees, which is considered normal! It is 2 km to the ski lifts, it was possible to go Ski bus (every half an hour), but we had rental cars. Skis and boots were rented and left in the depot, near the ski lifts. Near the ski lifts, there is a Shpar supermarket and a thermal complex , where there are several pools, saunas and spa treatments. Well, now we have reached the most basic, these are the mountains for which we came there. We have a large company, and the level of "skiing" is different for everyone. When we had already chosen this resort, I read one comment, which I later recalled very often that this resort was for advanced skiers !! ! It so happened that we "divided" into three Categories: Advanced, Intermediate and Beginner! After the first day, the advanced ones cursed and chose another place to ski SportGastein, some of the intermediate ones followed them, and we stayed in Bad Gastein. The first day was almost "buried" because we We couldn't find a beginners' track, as they are all red and black, and where there are blue ones, they are very narrow. In the lower part of the track, it was not possible to ride at all, where there was still snow, by lunchtime the "boarders" raked it so that it was just darkness to ride. Due to the European Cup stage in slalom (on boards), almost the entire descent was blocked to the lift, in some places the “passage” was 1 meter wide, when someone fell there, the next ones were nervous to say the least! On the second day, they still found a “Russian-speaking” instructor (Czech) for beginners and thought that she could do them take" to other places where they will further hone their skills, nevermind, on the same tracks, in the same places! There is an instructor: 180 euros for 2 hours !!!
We rode all week, only on the upper slopes, without going down. In general, the routes from which, in principle, they go there, did not please all our categories of skiers! in a cafe on the mountain, the best of those that I tried : ). And in the supermarket "sparkling wines" Asti, Proseca for 3-5 euros! : )
