Hotel pros:
Although it is located at the entrance to Bad Gastein, on the road leading out of Bad Hofgastein, the rooms are quiet if the windows face the mountain.
Within walking distance is a bus stop, from where you can go to any skiing region. There is a board with the timetable, but also a guide in a yellow jacket who will explain everything in English or German.
There are few rooms in the hotel, there are few vacationers, so in the morning at breakfast everything is cultural, quiet and decent, without crowding.
The breakfast is quite satisfactory. Fresh buns and gray bread, good coffee and tea in thermoses, cold cuts, cheese, boiled eggs, jam, cereal, and even a cake. Oil, however, is limited, but enough for 2 sandwiches.
The room is cleaned daily, bed linen is changed once a week, towels are changed more often.
The hotel has only 3 floors, but there is an elevator.
The room has a spacious balcony where you can store food, sunbathe, exercise.
The beds are wide and good, warm duvets.
Although the batteries are only warm, they do not turn off, as in many other hotels and pensions, but remain so around the clock. In addition, they are wide enough to dry clothes before the next day.
Minuses:
The only place where you can stock up on groceries is a supermarket - Eurospar, and it is located not close - a little further than the main lift on Stubnerkogel. Go up there, leaving the hotel, along the same road, about 20 minutes (but it’s easier to go down with groceries).
There is no WiFi in the hotel.
The bath is sitting, which, however, you can quickly get used to. However, there are no curtains and you have to shower while sitting, so as not to flood the floor.
There is no phone in the room, no mini-fridge, and the TV is small and badly located. The channels are mainly in German.
There are no vents or transoms, but you can make a gap by slightly opening the balcony door and provide yourself with fresh air. Although the room is barely heated and in the morning it will not be hot.
