On my own head, my wife and I decided to go through Pegasus for the New Year 2013 to Thailand for 10 days from 12/29/2012 to 01/09/2013 on the route Pattaya (4 nights) - Hua Hin (4 nights) - Bangkok (2 nights). The total cost of the tour was approximately $3,850 including New Year's Eve Dinner.
It was the first time they dealt with "Pegas Touristik", and now the last one, since the organization of the robots is simply no, and to say frankly, just swine. I note that we ourselves are from Lviv (Ukraine), we traveled a lot around the world, but since we went to Thailand for the first time, we were ready for a lot in advance, but not for this.
So, it all started with the fact that on December 29, 2012, when registering for a flight Kyiv - Bangkok, a representative of the infamous Aerosvit airline told us (and about 20 other people) that they had sold more tickets for this flight than seats on the plane (so-called overbooking). Moreover, they have a stable practice - to sell 5% more tickets than seats. After a long wait, they offered another (no longer direct, but combined) flight to Bangkok on December 30, 2012: Kyiv-Moscow with a wait of about 7 hours in Moscow, and then Moscow - Bangkok, to which they were forced to agree. Therefore, after exhausting many hours of waiting at airports and two air flights, we arrived in Bangkok, and then in Pattaya around noon on December 31, 2012 instead of the morning of December 30, 2012, as planned in advance, which took a full day from the tour, and New Year was celebrated very tired.
I note that Pegasus did not announce the names of hotels in Pattaya and Bangkok in advance, but only promised, according to the voucher, their level of at least three stars, and now it is clear why.
So, the Jomtien Holiday Beach 3 * hotel in Pattaya was just sucks, because it is located in Najomtien, at the very end of Jomtien - the southern district of Pattaya - about 1 km from the beginning of the beach and more than 10 km from the city center, which made it extremely difficult to travel to it, although it is there that the main entertainment and services are located.
The very same service at the hotel is simply no. So, at first we were offered a room in building "C", located near a landfill and a construction site, and only after a small scandal at the reception they gave us another room 102 on the ground floor in building "B", where the window is almost completely covered by a brick wall, behind which there is a wasteland, and in which it was impossible to sleep all night due to the extremely loud noise of the external air conditioning unit. Moreover, when communicating with other tourists, it turned out that the initial settlement in building "C" and relocation to other buildings is done only after an additional payment at the reception of 1000 baht, i.e. about 33 US dollars, which indicates a stable practice of knocking out additional money .
However, the main problem was that the guide "Pegasus" in this "hotel" named Olesya (tel. +660911200291) did not contribute to our rest in any way, but rather evaded help in every possible way. Her only desire was to sell us Pegasus excursions, and at about double the prices of other offers. Apparently her earnings are only commissions from excursions.
On the evening of January 2, the hotel did not have information about the time of the future transfer on January 3 to Hua Hin. Therefore, they called Olesya, who promised to call back, but never did. When we called again, we were surprised to learn that we were not supposed to be transferred to Hua Hin, although we had a proper voucher. We called the representative of Pegasus in Bangkok (tel. +660899223702), who sent to the representative of this company in Pattaya named Server (tel. +660899265203). For about 4 hours, repeatedly, having spent significant money due to roaming, they called home, to Ukraine and various Pegasus employees in Thailand, who very sharply stated that there could be no question of a transfer to Hua Hin, and So we have to get there ourselves at our own expense. For reference, Hua Hin is located on the other side of the Gulf of Thailand opposite Pattaya, and it is about 400 kilometers along the coast, since there is no sea. Server also (as a true "Pegasus") said that he could arrange such a transfer for 12,500 baht, i.e. 420 US dollars, which was at least twice the reasonable price for Thailand (who knows). Only at about one in the morning on January 3, we were promised that Pegasus would still carry out the transfer, which was done in the morning.
After that, we simply gave up on Pegasus and started organizing the rest ourselves, although in general, after what was described above, it was already spoiled by constant worries.
Returning home, he sent a written claim to Pegasus and received a letter in response, the essence of which boils down to the maxim “and no one promised anything special. What they wrote, they did in the end." In general, of course, this is true, but if it were not for our endurance and life experience, then how do you know what would have happened.
What is the wish on the basis of all that has been said above: in no case should you buy tours from Pegas Touristik, except for extreme masochists.
