In 2014, we, as agents, applied for a US tour to the tour operator American Travel Group. There were some minor issues during the application process due to the mistake of their manager. She booked the wrong tour, does not respond to letters on time, does not confirm the exchange rate. We thought it happens, but everything became clear (the true essence of the American Travel Group) after the refusal of a visa to a client. The tour operator assured us that he would definitely open a visa, that there were no refusals for tourism applications. The client already had visas of 4-5 Schengen visas, even Germany and Great Britain, but they refused!
They began to offer us to resubmit or a similar country - Canada. Although before that we completely trusted the tour operator American Travel Group, we decided to check with other tour operators (they called three) and it turned out that there were no chances for a second one, and no one would open Canada after the refusal in the USA.
The time has come for the operator to return the money for the tour. According to the contract, which they sent late (after applying, pay) for signature, it turned out that they take a fine from agents for refusing a tour, but there is no penalty in the contract with clients!? A complete set-up for the agent!!! They even on the site is not possible to download the agency agreement. It's strange for an operator, isn't it?
We went to their office to talk to the director. It turns out that at the meeting we found out that we could not hurry with the full payment for the tour. We were able to make the first payment for the visa application, and then we were already issued for the tour. We also learned directly that the American side does not require any fines, but they say something else at the meeting! They began to put pressure on us that we agreed, etc.
As a result, the tour operator American Travel Group did not act nicely towards the agent and the client. It's not Win/Win, but Win/Lost. Therefore, we decided to write the truth about the tour operator American Travel Group and advise all travel agents and clients to avoid them. A real partner can only be recognized in trouble. And the tour operator American Travel Group in trouble only thinks about his own skin and profit. And after that, how can you trust such a company with your client!?
