Very good company, excellent organization of the trip

On the eve of the New Year, I decided to “do a good deed” and share my memories of the meeting of 2014 in Greece))) It’s truly “how to celebrate the New Year, so you will spend it”! 2014 was rich in trips, new acquaintances and interesting events So, I mentally translate the hands of the clock and plunge into that holiday atmosphere ... But first things first;)

It was the first time in Greece, but after the celebration of New Year's Eve, the first meeting left so many pleasant emotions that I booked a tour for the summer back in February by early booking. So, having arrived at the airport of Macedonia, he certainly did not impress us with his size, but the customs formalities went quickly, though we had to wait 15 minutes for luggage. Then the guide Mouzenidis gave us a bus tour of the Northern capital of Greece - the “bride of the north of Thessaloniki”.

The tour took a little more than two hours, during which we saw the White Tower - the symbol of the city, the arch of Gallerius, the temple of Dmitry Thessalonica - the patron saint of the city and heard its rich history. Some “bus neighbors” whined that they needed to get enough sleep before the holiday, but I didn’t feel tired at all after a couple of hours on the plane and, on the contrary, I was glad to see something new right away, especially since I was able to escape from work for just a couple of nights.

After the tour, we were brought to our Grand Hotel Palace. The rooms and food for a city hotel are good, there is a large fountain right in front of the windows. The only downside is the location. You can’t walk to the center, although it’s only 7-10 minutes by taxi)) So if this nuance doesn’t bother you, feel free to book the Grand!

So, in anticipation of the holiday, beautiful and smart, we go into the Grand De Lux hall ... Of course, everything is very beautifully decorated, but there are a lot of guests in the hall, there is nowhere for an apple to fall.

The organizers came up with a good idea, distributing invitation cards with a table number to the guests in advance in order to avoid guests arguing “for a place in the sun”, as our people love)) Some, of course, managed to argue at the table who would sit where, but we got very nice neighbors on the table with which we still communicate))

I liked the musical accompaniment of the evening, colorful: Greek dancers, orchestra, singers ... The tables were bursting with food and drink, and everything was really very worthy. And the New Year's fireworks delighted not only children, but even me, an adult, successful woman who has seen a lot in life)). In general, the holiday was a success!

I would also like to say a few words about excursions for those who are just planning a trip. We didn't have time to see everything we wanted to see in the winter, so the excursions were visited during our summer vacation.

In winter, we only went to Aridea - hot springs (well, we could not fly to Greece and not swim, even if it was winter))). In the summer we visited Meteora and Olympus-Dion-Vergina. I think that if possible, it is worth going on excursions right away in winter - and closer from Thessaloniki than from Halkidiki, and the weather is excellent - not hot.

During the return flight at the airport there was a line at the baggage drop desk and at the customs control - not happy, of course, but quite expected at any international airport, especially during the holidays.

In general, I absolutely do not regret the money spent and now I am tormented by doubts where to meet 2015). And, perhaps, we will meet you at the holiday in Thessaloniki, dear readers of this review;)
