We went to the Bin Majid Beach Hotel from October 26 to November 9.2012 with a large group of 9 people (3 families). The hotel is not without flaws, but all of them have already been mentioned in previous reviews. We missed balconies the most. The smell in the room (No. 119) bothered me a little for the first two days (as if they were poisoning cockroaches), but then it disappeared, and my friends did not have such a smell in the rooms. But in our room there were minimal extraneous sounds. In room 107, one could hear singing from a nearby mosque, and in room 112, music from a disco and the horns of cars approaching a liquor store.
The room has a hairdryer, a kettle, a compliment from the hotel in the form of a bottle of water, several bags of tea, coffee, sugar, which are not replenished. It's only on arrival. Electric sockets are not suitable for our equipment, you can ask the reception for an adapter or buy it (8-10 dirhams) in the nearest supermarket (Karifur in Safir mall)
Be careful with the air conditioner, because of the heat on the street, you want to turn it on harder in the cold. We have two children in the company caught a cold this way.

In the early comments it is written and I agree that there were really not enough utensils for breakfast (clean glasses to pour juice, and especially teaspoons. If you like fried eggs or scrambled eggs, you have to stand in line for them.
We were very pleased with the beach and the sea. The sand is yellow. The sea is clean, shallow, at low tides you can walk to the buoys) The volleyball net on the beach turned out to be in great demand) We had no problems with sunbeds. The first days there were not enough places under umbrellas, but this is because the hotel was completely full - it was the holiday of Eid al-Adha - there were a lot of Arabs. Then there were fewer people and we adapted: the coast is high and in the morning there was always a shadow from it on the beach
A big thank you to everyone who spoke about the Afghan restaurant in previous reviews. We went there almost daily. On average, for lunch / dinner for 6 adults + 3 children (7-11 years old), a check was received in the amount of 200-300 dirhams (1700-2600 rubles). Everyone was fed up. Portions are huge (chicken, chicken kebab, rack of lamb, lamb kebab, etc. ) + a compliment from the institution: each soup, vegetable salad, hot, freshly baked, pita bread.
I advise you to try different types of fish in the Lulu hypermarket in the RAK mall (by taxi from the hotel about 20 dirhams). Inexpensive, for example, barracuda and shark 7.9 dirhams per kg, right there, there is a tent where you will cook the purchased fish / seafood. You can buy and cook yourself. In the same supermarkets, disposable barbecues and foil are sold. We went to the seashore, next to the hotel and cooked shrimp and chicken skewers.
