About the hotel itself and the territory: The hotel is large, consists of several buildings, the territory is large, well-groomed, several pools. In fact, everyone bathed in only one, which was near the indoor pool, as it was in the sun and the warmest. Haven't been to the spa. There were enough sun loungers on the beach, even if you arrive late. We were in a building next to the main building, very convenient.
Number: The room is large, large bathroom, all accessories are there, cleaning is good, you have to press the display if you want cleaning. Very large balcony, there is a table, two chairs and a sofa where you can lie. Nice to sit in the evenings. Some buildings had small balconies, perhaps this was a different category. Another plus is a coffee machine in the room, every day they left tablets for the coffee machine, it's nice to drink coffee on the terrace, which made us very happy. Once asked for an extra, they gave 4, not 2 for the day. Of the minuses - a hair dryer, which is located in the closet in the hallway. There is no socket in the can and it is impossible to dry your hair there. It is necessary to dry in the hallway, where there is a single outlet, but you dry your hair blindly - there is no mirror, or rather it is impossible to reach it. If you want to use a curling iron or something like that, then this is all without a mirror. Another point - take adapters for charging phones, as they have sockets like in England.
Meals: there are two main restaurants and some other a la carte, but we were not there. Main restaurants with the same food. There is a lot of food, but in most cases, it is like Indian cuisine - very spicy and with special herbs or spices. I tried to take potatoes for 5 days in a row, I ate only 1 time, the rest of the times it didn’t work out, everything is very spicy and specific. In one room there is popcorn and french fries, there is no children's menu, no yogurt. There is fresh juice in the morning. There is also ice cream. There is a bar outside but very small for so many guests. This is the only bar that worked on the street in the evening. Inside there is also a bar, there are cocktails, canned beer. Live music is not every day and then only until 21.30, then silence, it happens that other people say, they don’t even turn on the music, which is very strange. A very strange all-inclusive system - it works from 12.00 noon to 12.00 at night. Until noon, they won’t even give you cola or water.
Animation Entertainment: I have never seen anyone, but probably she was somewhere) There is also a nightclub that was open once, we went in and out - there is practically no place at all. This is probably the first hotel where it was boring.
Sea: this is an artificial bay, there are never waves, but there is no fresh water either, near the coast the water is still clear, and further muddy, it does not renew itself. There are also slides in the sea.
Guests: there were mostly guests from Russia and Kazakhstan, a little from Ukraine, England, Germany.
Once we went to the local mall - it's not worth it, there's nothing there at all, half of the shops are closed. After we were in Dubai for a week, the trip to the mall was generally frustrating.
Service: everyone is very polite and attentive, they speak English, they try to fulfill all requests.
Would I return to this hotel again? Do not know. The issue of food and the sea is very important to me.
It began with the fact that on the third day of rest, a package with things disappeared from the room. We turned to the guest relay, the manager Ahmed tried to convince us that we ourselves put these things somewhere and forgot, and tried to break into our room to look for them. Well, it's like that. They flatly refused to show us the video from the cameras. They promised to contact me the next day. Silence. In the evening, we ourselves went to look for him, and he, nevertheless, admitted that the cleaner really threw the bag away, deciding that it was garbage. How could a bag of T-shirts and shorts be mistaken for garbage? It was very disappointing, because there were also new things. But the amount of discarded things, all the same, was reimbursed, albeit partially.
Another misfortune overtook us on the 5th day of our stay. Our family, almost at full strength, got poisoned at the hotel, presumably with hot dogs, at dinner. The child vomited 7 times + diarrhea. And adults too. They called an ambulance. We contacted the insurance company, which sent a doctor and we were prescribed medicine, which we took for another three days. Has anyone apologized or taken action? Naturally not.
The hotel also provides a 17-seat bus that takes you to take PCR. But, if you want to get into it, you need to sign up, apparently, immediately upon arrival, since it is full. It takes 20 minutes by taxi, it costs $ 35 in both directions. The guide warned that in the morning there were a lot of people in the hospital. We went around 6 pm, there was no one at all, we were lucky.
As far as maintenance goes, turn off the lights. Waiting for drinks is not an easy task for breakfast, lunch and dinner. But! ! If you were served once, do not expect that they will approach you again, calling, waving is useless, even dragging by the hand. There is only one effective means - tips. And again but! If you once left a tip, you need to leave them regularly, and as soon as you arrived, otherwise, the waiter is “offended” and ignores even harder, the food is mostly monotonous, but we were not hungry. But the distribution of food is of course, if you ask for rice or pasta, then you will be piled so much that it will fall out of the plate, you need to stop. And the meat, well, as each piece is torn from the heart. More queues at lunch, for some reason, the biggest. It is better to go by one and go to the far room. The food is the same, but it is calm there, there is no hype and movement such as at the entrance.
Sunbeds on the beach are also a separate issue. I got up at 6 am and went to take a sunbed, but (! ) the first line was already taken. A couple of times I got up earlier, the result is the same. Well, after 8 you may find a free sunbed, but not an umbrella. Therefore, I advise you to run at 6 am.
It may seem that they were looking for the negative, but, in fact, it was the negative that was looking for us, in general, everything is fine and we do not despair. Due to the corona and restrictions, we could not escape to the sea for a very long time, so we enjoyed every minute, no matter what.
May I recommend this hotel?
50/50.
A lot of troubles happened to us, but this does not mean that this can happen to everyone.
Well, the service is also hard to judge. I was not in this hotel before the pandemic, and now it is quite difficult to adequately assess the situation with the distribution of drinks and food.
Therefore, if you are satisfied with the price / quality, then go ahead, the sea is the sea))
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all attractions and entertainment centers were closed, Tui offered a private tour for two to Dubai for $900!!!
Naturally, we refused, we found an excellent Russian-speaking guide, who picked us up from the hotel in his car in the morning and brought us back late at night. During the tour, we saw all the sights of Dubai, visited the islands of palm trees, stopped by the mosque in Sharjah, we wanted to go to Abu Dhabi, but the mosque is now closed, and the emirate is also limitedly allowed. It all cost us $200 for two.
But there are such nuances:
1. It would be necessary to introduce labels for dishes - spicy not spicy, fatty not fatty. Half of the dishes are very spicy and it is not clear what you take until you try it. The children's menu has only 2-3 dishes, salad and ice cream, not very diverse. Breakfast is always the same. You won't leave hungry though.
2. Drinks are paid even with the Full board system. They say that this is the rule for all hotels in the UAE. Although juices and coffee for breakfast are free, the rest of the time (with full board) - for a fee. Compared to Turkey, Egypt, Spain, it's not an understandable limitation. The difference between Full Board and All Inclusive is about $100 per person per day. It does not make sense to take All Inclusive if you are not going to drink alcoholic cocktails all day and night.
3. One day there was a terrible cleaning.
Our housekepper Abu had a day off, he was replaced by some obviously idle guy, he did the cleaning somehow, forgot to put water on, change towels. It turned out later that Abu was training for a promotion - he was trained as a receptionist (a very commendable system for nurturing personnel, but the staff that replaces such valuable personnel must also be trained).
4. It’s not clear why they inflate a big trampoline with slides in the morning and don’t let children on it until the evening, and in the evening they let them in, but the trampoline itself gets so hot in the sun that it’s impossible to ride and jump on it : ) This is something ill-conceived in a hotel .
5. I don’t see the point in taking additional Bay club services (a separate restaurant with the same food, a separate pool, beach, etc. ). The whole party in the main pool and on the pirate ship, the food is the same. It makes no sense to overpay, it's just boring on an empty separate beach and pool. The sea is the same. Values in addition there are no services.
7.
Swimming in the sea and all sorts of activities only until 19-00 (there were at the end of June). Then it gets dark and it is forbidden to swim, although at this time it is best to swim, it is not so hot.
What we liked:
1. Cookie service - a great management idea, you can ask for warm cookies at any time. Children and adults are given free of charge in any quantity at the reception.
2. Lots of activities - from futsal, big chess, small and big tennis, funny mega-darts (with sticky hairy balls that you have to knock down with a long stick to get it), to all kinds of water activities (jet skis, buns and etc. ).
3. The sea is very warm 28-32 degrees. All living creatures - crabs, fish, starfish. True, the swimming area is fenced, you can’t swim everywhere. But be sure to take a mask, it is interesting to dive there, if you get close to the stones, then there are a lot of living creatures. Ideally, swim at 5-00 - 7-00, when the Life Guard is still sleeping.
4. Very green area.
Take a room in the Villas block (villas, Deluxe Sea View, this category was called by us) be sure to be on the first floor - there will be a terrace with a personal exit to the green area with palm trees and grass: it is very pleasant to walk and the children are completely delighted, somersault, roll.
5. Excellent pirate ship - 4 water slides (two smaller, two larger) for children 2.5 - 12 years old. Adults with small children are also allowed to ride (child in arms).
6. Liked the staff in general. Indians, Thais, Kazakhs, Ukrainians, Russians, Pakistanis, Africans serve - everyone is smiling, very friendly to children, playing with cars, entertaining in every possible way, helping parents.
7. I liked All inclusive - we were given half a day by mistake (we wore brown bracelets), we used the services to the fullest. Including they bring and take from the room to the reception restaurant by typewriter (for those who are lazy or who may be injured, it is very useful).
Delicious cocktails (not like in Egypt with fig water or a lot of ice), they don’t save, they put everything honestly, pour it to the rim of the glass : )
8. I liked the embankment across the road from the hotel, colored fountains in the same place, a large playground. It's nice to walk here in the evening.
9. There is a Zoom Market supermarket 10 minutes walk from the hotel (on the territory of the Rixos hotel), the prices are very affordable. We found here our President sour cream, Lactonia yogurts and Ukrainian kefir! : ) Opposite our hotel, two more eateries were opened - shaurmyashnitsy. Mostly locals hang out there.
10. It is best to take a taxi or rent a car, it will be cheaper. It turned out to be an expensive trip from Dubai by car (VIP class, Porsche Cayenne) $100, by taxi from the hotel to Dubai $45-50 (car class Toyota Camry). Drive 1 hour. It takes 2.5 hours to drive to the mosque in Abu Dhabi, consider further for yourself. But this is for those who like to ride information. The hotel provides a free transfer on the day of arrival and departure.
In general, the rest was a success, we swam in the sea, rolled on the slides. But in June-August it is very hot and high humidity, keep in mind, it will be like in a sauna.
Have a good holiday everyone!
The number given was not the one given. Stayed for a long time. Finally, "convincing the reception" that we paid for this particular room, settled! There was no hot water in the room!
Everything would be tolerable, if not for one biggest But! There is absolutely nothing to eat! We ate the same bread! They managed to put pepper and all sorts of hot spices in rice porridge! In a word, the chef turned out to be an Indian! All food is drenched in terrible fire spices! There is simply nothing for children to do here! And there is nothing to eat! Rice and pasta on the children's table is everything. In the morning for breakfast fiery sauces . . disgusting cocktails! The wine was poured from the packages : )))! You will not see any seafood here. Fish, at best, in fiery sauces... so as not to spoil, or what... ? For a lot of money here are real three stars.
Next. . the beach! Schools of fish underfoot, starfish and jellyfish are the norm every day for swimming.
The beach is being cleaned.
A wonderful number that we managed to snatch turned out to be over a disco that does not end : )).
Another moment. The husband was poisoned by a cocktail or this food . . it doesn’t matter already. You can't call a doctor at the hotel. The Russian-speaking receptionist will hear you at 3 o'clock (it became bad at 10 am) and will tell you if there is a doctor. Until he hears, you can die . .
In a word, you can describe it like this: Chinese Hilton! There is a Hilton, and there is this! We flew to the UAE 15 times, but this has never happened before. After such a rest, we think where to rest.
We do not recommend! And by no means for families with children!
05.05. 2018
In early April it was not very hot, but the sea was already warm enough, the air conditioner in the room was turned on only in the last couple of days, at 7-8 o'clock in the morning they drank coffee on the balcony, enjoying the gentle sun. By the way, there was a kettle in the room, and tea, coffee, sugar, cream, water were replenished constantly. Turning to the cleaner, we received the Wi-Fi password and you could always use the Internet right in the room. Of the amenities there were also a free safe, a refrigerator, an ironing board with an iron, a telephone, a TV, which was practically not turned on.
I would like to draw attention to the following: upon arrival, I had to pay a tourist tax of 20 euros, moreover, they insisted on cashless payment, and they also demanded a deposit, but my friend with a German passport and in good English agreed not to pay this deposit, although this is not so it was important: everything that we would not have spent, we would have been returned. The important thing here is that the rate at the reception is very unfavorable, i. e. , it is better to pay, for example, for drinks at dinner, etc. in derhams. One more piece of advice. Not far from the DoubleTree by Hilton Resort & Spa Marjan Island 5 * hotel is the RIХOS hotel, on the territory of which there is a small store where you can buy some products, incl. and dates.
I would like to express my deep gratitude to all the hotel staff for the excellent service, friendly attitude towards guests, for organizing leisure activities (animation, live music in the evenings, children's disco) and a separate big THANK YOU to the chefs who fed us so tasty and varied!
Rest was a success, miracles happen!
