We rested in the second half of September 2014. We flew on vacation with the whole family: my husband and I and my parents. Surprises began to happen right on arrival. We were met by an individual transfer to the hotel (which we did not order), which seemed to be a pleasant surprise, but somehow our driver and representatives of the host tour company solved the issue of our transportation for a very long time. Called up, talked, all this happened in Arabic. Our confusion grew, our parents were nervous, but then the issues finally seemed to be resolved and we went to the hotel. After about an hour of our drive, a hotel representative called the driver and wanted to talk to one of us. Of all our family, only I speak English well, so during the conversation I was informed that at the moment it is a weekend in the UAE (we arrived on Friday), the hotel is overcrowded and we will spend the night at the Radisson Blu Resort, and at 12 o’clock tomorrow we will they will provide a car and bring it to Rotana Resort & Spa. After this news, the mood of all disappeared completely. After spending 1.5 hours on the road from Dubai to Fujairah, we were finally brought to the hotel. The Radisson Blu Resort knew, as they said, about the exchange (although it’s not clear who and by whom was exchanged), they offered us one room for 4, though assuring that it was a family room, with two separate rooms. After completing all the documents, they began to ask for a deposit, of course, no one gave any deposits to anyone. Settled us really in a good room, located in a distant, detached cottages. The room had two promised bedrooms, two bathrooms, a hall and a large terrace with sun loungers. A late dinner was brought to the room. In the morning we were supposed to have breakfast and at 12 o'clock departure to our hotel. We were already taken to Rotana Resort & Spa on a common small bus, besides us there were 8 more people who were also settled for one night at this hotel. The road to our hotel took about 20 minutes, at the reception we were met with cold drinks and towels. As an apology for the inconvenience caused, we were settled in rooms of a higher category than booked and instead of the paid HB meal, the hotel provided FB meals. No one asked for a deposit at the reception. Parents got a corner room on the second floor, my husband and I lived in one of the central rooms on the third floor. In the evening, fruits and wine were brought to our room as compliments to us and our parents. The rooms are good, large, with a separate seating area, a balcony with furniture, a bathrobe, slippers, a tea and coffee set with a kettle, an iron, an ironing board, a TV catches 3-4 Russian channels, there is no bathroom in the room, only a shower, which is a bit leaking. We liked the hotel itself - green, well-groomed, a lot of birds, flowers, we were pleased with the lack of animation. In the evening you can go to a bar, a singer sings there and something like a disco from the 80s is organized : ) The beach is clean, there was no oil in the water, the water is 30-31 degrees, a little cooler than the air, it’s nice to swim. The weather was good all week, sunny, in the afternoon there was a light breeze and waves. The pool is large, deep, cool and slightly chlorinated. There was always enough space for everyone on the beach and near the pool, umbrellas, sun loungers, beach towels. The hotel was about 60% occupied, a lot of locals with their families come by the weekend. Food for 4+, lame seafood and sometimes green fruits. Packaged juices, tea, coffee for breakfast for free, lunch and dinner all for an additional fee (including tea). At breakfast, only waiters carry tea and coffee, only juice is freely available. Prices in the hotel are too high, next to the hotel at the gas station, there is a small shop where you can replenish water and juice in the room. At the entrance to the hotel no one checks the bags, buy, bring whatever you want. The hotel provides a free bus to Fujairah and a paid bus to Dubai. They did not use anything, because they went to Dubai on their own. They clean the room every day, in the evenings they pester with questions whether everything is fine, whether there are any wishes. The quality of cleaning is standard for Arab countries, we didn’t leave money for the cleaner, he didn’t weave geese out of towels for us) The staff at the hotel is mostly English-speaking, there is a Russian administrator girl in the main restaurant. Upon departure, the reception desk handed out boxes with breakfasts to everyone, since the departure was early in the morning. My parents enjoyed the holiday very much, my husband and I were also satisfied. The Fujairah Rotana Resort & Spa is for those who love a beach, quiet, relaxing holiday. Thanks to everyone who read : )
